Oticon Companion Pros

✓ Functional with a need for more featuresOn a good day, this app fulfills most of the functions you need to do with your hearing aids. There is nothing really special included This is an update to the previous app which functioned similarly. This latest version, which just came out, functions very well and is pretty much the same as the original Oticon app. This UI is a bit nicer though. I’m hoping when iOS 17 releases there will be additional features added to the app. Note: If anyone experiences an issue with either Oticon app, it is possible to do most everything the apps do using the Apple accessibility menu, which has been updated albeit is pretty featureless..CBK3Version: 1.2.2

✓ Firmware Upgrade RequiredInitially my Oticon OPN 1 BTE PP hearing aids were not compatible with this new app, after working great for many years with the Oticon ON app. There is a notice on Oticon’s support web site that warns that OPN hearing aids may need a firmware upgrade to version 6.0 or later. I had the firmware in my hearing aids upgraded and the app now works well, with similar features to Oticon ON for OPN hearing aids..GvetcyVersion: 1.2.2

✗ Unspeakably PoorThis app in itself is a reason to seriously consider something other than Oticon hearing aids. The old ON app was great and very stable. This one is incapable of maintaining connection to the hearing aids and requires fully closing and opening the app (and sometimes turning the phone off and on) to reestablish connection. And this is despite updates to the app to supposedly address connectivity. What makes it unforgivable incompetence is that the iPhone maintains connection (iOS can pair with them itself) when the app can’t. It’s as if some idiot has coded it so the connection subroutine is in the startup sequence of the app, forgetting that it might be useful to MAINTAIN a connection. Until this is sorted, I would recommend checking the market before you commit to Oticon. Connectivity is important these days and without the iOS capability Oticon hearing aids would be almost useless in that regard..Load of Rubbish 123Version: 1.2.2

✗ Useless appFor heavens sake Oticon scrap this app and bring back Oticon On. There were connectivity issues with the old app but nothing compared to the complete lack of functionality in this version. And your advice to “correct” the issue stinks. I do not want to have to fiddle about with my hearing aids turning them off and on again every time Bluetooth drops out which is about every 20 minutes. I am hugely disappointed not only in the product but also in your response to the problem. Having spent thousands of pounds on your top of the range aids it doesn’t seem unreasonable to me to expect better. My advice to anyone thinking of buying Oticon is to look elsewhere..Fed up and disconnectedVersion: 1.2.2
