✓ Full of issuesThe instal video and instructions are good and if it all works, you’re fine. Apart from the battery length issues. The big problem is it isn’t stable and when it stops working, and it will, you have to start from the beginning. Expect to spend hours fixing this problematic tech. ✓ Terrible techThe tech/insurance offer seemed promising and saved paying out for one of the similar, more established market products. I figured that I’d get it up and running, see how it went and then, if it was terrible, make use of the 30-day cancellation policy. I was thrilled with it all though, no need for cancelling it, recommended it to family and friends, in fact to anyone that would listen. Then I hit the 5 week mark and it all went to pot. The tech has become so problematic. Main issues are: * Doorbell battery takes 48 hours to recharge * Auto arming feature has two issues. One is the radius from your property before it kicks in, even on its smallest setting it’s still too far from your property. Two is that this auto arming feature doesn’t work anymore. No matter how far I get from my property it doesn’t kick in. I then have to remember to manually turn it on, which I rarely remember to do. Once manually switched on it then doesn’t disarm when you get back to your property. * Indoor camera manual record feature doesn’t store the clips * Significant delay between doorbell being pressed and phone notification, record is 8 minutes so far * Doorbell camera started out being fabulously sensitive and capturing exactly what I hoped it would. Within those few short initial weeks though that dropped off and now I’m lucky if it captures anyone until they are almost physically touching my front door When you factor in how much you are actually paying for the tech by way of your monthly premium (and how long you are tied in) versus a similar product on the market it is simply not worth it. Give this product a HARD SWERVE and use the other, more established products on the market e.g. Ring. ✓ Don’t waste your timeThe kit sounds great but in reality it’s a load of junk, it’s cheap and flimsy and not fit for purpose, the doorbell and chime are too quiet and have to be plugged in to your router which means you never know when someone is at the door, if you turn the notifications on then you get about 100 notifications every time you breath, so you have to turn them off, which again means you don’t know when someone as at your door, also the doorbell turns itself off after about 2 days and needs recharging so if you go away then it’s not switched on which is when you want it the most..Giddy79Version: 1.14.0

✓ Could be betterNot a bad app, does basically what it’s designed for but the auto-arm function is a bit pointless for me currently. I have to open the app for it to auto-arm and if that doesn’t work I have to message my partner and ask her to do the same for it then to ‘auto-arm’. ✓ Limited functionalityIf you only have home insurance with no smart products, the app has limited functionality and isn’t really worth it. The only advantage is the speed of making a claim if you need it. ✓ So far so not very good….I guess it’s early days for all of this kit. The extras are simple enough and useful additions if accurate but the main reason I went for this so to replace a Ring doorbell. Put simply the sky video doorbell isn’t fit for purpose. Live feed has very slow delays and even when connected to full fibre there’s too long a delay and the caller would have left the house before you can communicate. The battery life is running at 3-4 days so again that’s impractical I’ll be switching back to Ring.AorsharkVersion: 1.4.0

✓ DazAs others have said there is too much lag between opening the app and been able to speak with someone at the front door, they have left before you can speak with them. Also as others mentioned it was quite difficult to get to pair with the receiver/bell. I have the indoor camera in the garage, but I have had to turn all notifications off because of the false alarms (even set to minimum), with motion detection it picked up a fly, and sound it picked up cars driving past or pedestrians talking, I have now set up the motion detector which seems a bit better. It’s ok for free I suppose but I was hoping for something better and am still considering getting a Ring doorbell. Sky was by far the cheapest quote I got so the kit was free, that’s the way I see it anyway..Daz 2143Version: 1.16.0

✓ Not for me I’m afraidReceived my smart tech really quickly, the next day, Thankyou Sky. But I’ve had to send it back the day after. Couldn’t even get into the app and then came here and saw the reviews I decided not to take the gamble. Shame really as the products had a very clean aesthetic to them and would have looked great if I had the chance to use them. The fact I couldn’t get into the app immediately made my mind up for me. ✓ UselessAbsolutely useless if you’ve already had a policy with them and then upgrade to the “Smart Tech” pack. The app doesn’t recognise that you’ve done so and the technical support team at Sky are apparently useless at being able to fix it. ✓ Not so smart techWorked for a week! Absolutely appalling £25pm for tech that doesn’t work, can’t connect the chime, half the sensor’s don’t work and when they do they go off as soon as you shower regardless of the settings. As for the doorbell good when it worked only to find it spent more time charging than actually doing what it’s supposed to. Would I recommend this, most definitely NOT! ✓ Not good enough for a Sky product.Indoor camera has a 2-5 second delay, even when indoors on a sky network. Doorbell only lasts a few days and a gain the delay is so bad you can’t talk to anyone outside. Door sensors are good though. ✓ So far less than happyInstalled the system a few days ago and it’s not difficult! Just not well thought out, the camera is fine but doesn’t ring my phone like the ring doorbell I removed for it. The window sensors are not designed to fit my windows as they shaped frames, the indoor camera is like an old pc camera and it’s cant be hidden well so if someone gets in they will destroy it fast. ✓ Great but with an issueEverything else is super easy to set up and connect. The video doorbell chime on the other hand, just won’t connect to the app using my iPhone 14 pro max. Searched and found others have had issues whilst trying to set it up using the same model. Ended up having to use another phone (iPhone 11 pro max) to set it up and had no problem. Had all the tech less than a week and I’ve had to take my doorbell off for charging for the second time and now it won’t reconnect. Had to remove it and now having to wait for a friend to come to set it up again using a different phone. The camera and sensors are great. Though adjustment of the water sensors may be needed as had a few false alarms. If you have Ring or another video doorbell service that works great, I wouldn’t recommend installing the sky video doorbell as a replacement unless you have a phone model that hasn’t got any issues in the set up process..Jord9192Version: 1.11.0

✓ Okay but needs improvementThe combination of the tech, the app and the insurance makes for a very compelling offer and in general I’m happier with the the tech in place than without it. It provides superb piece of mind when out of the house. However there are 2-3 things that need improving. (I have not used any other similar doorbells/cameras or sensors so have no comparison.) 1. Auto arming of the system is very poor. You can either use location-based arming which in my experience works okay when leaving the house but not well at all when arriving back. Or you can set a schedule. Sounds great as most of us come and go at roughly the same times each day. However there is no way to set separate schedules for weekdays and weekends and if you disable the schedule it forgets the times and you have to set them again. Or you do it manually day-in day-out which is where point three below would be really handy. 2 There is a delay of a few seconds when interacting with the camera/doorbell. It would be great if this could be reduced. 3. I doubt this will ever happen but Siri/Alexa/Google integration would be super. I find the doorbell runs for a good 2 weeks or more between charges but I hate the removal procedure . Feels like it will break one of these days..Mds160475Version: 1.16.0
