✓ Good game, when it’s playableYes, there’s almost more ads than game, and it makes my phone hot enough to burn within seconds of launching, and it lags so bad it takes a full 5 seconds to press any button and crashes the rest of my apps, but damn if it isn’t a fun game.Version: 1.9.8
✓ Would be great with a few changesI really do like the game, but there are some things that would make it a better experience. - It easily heats up my phone and can get really slow/glitchy if it’s running for a long time and/or you have anything running in the background. - I don’t like that the super long puzzles have the same number of hearts as a short one. It would be nice to have more leeway just in case you accidentally click the wrong letter. - It would be nice if, when you click on a letter/symbol, it highlighted that symbol all over the board. ✓ Ads are incredibly long and annoyingEven after getting the paid version of the app, you’re required to watch ads or buy coins in order to get any levels if you don’t want to wait weeks on end to earn enough coins from the daily challenges. The ads are ridiculously long, you can’t turn off the sound, and it sometimes makes you inadvertently click on the ad because of the eventual placement of the x. ✓ Fun at first…This game has so much great potential. It is quickly ruined because of a couple is things. One, when you get to a certain level, you have no choice but to use the hints because the letters they give you don’t help at all. Two, in order to get a hint you have to watch these ridiculously long ads. Of course you can remove the ads for a fee but then you need to purchase hint packages. An absolute ripoff. Why can we not accrue hints as we solve puzzles? Why is it so difficult to give more letters the further you move along in the game? ✓ Just A Few IssuesOne really annoying this is all the adds like can their be an option to get rid of them. Also a dark theme would be amazing because it makes it easier for some people to read. A big issue I have is that I can’t get past level 7 in pop hits #1 because it won’t let me. If I open the level everything is already filled in and I can’t do anything. ✓ Overheated my phone!The puzzles themselves are fine, and I enjoy many of the quotes once they’re solved. My main complaint seems to fall in with most others’ reviews, as the ad breaks are obnoxious. In my case, my phone would begin heating up within 5 minutes of opening the app and starting a puzzle. Based on others’ reviews, I suspect the abundance of ads was causing the CPU strain. This evening was the first experience of the phone showing down significantly along with the heat. The reason I’m leaving a 3/5 star review is that ads get in the way of gameplay. I understand that you may be a small company that rely on ads to make any money, but there are way too many. Example, there are daily challenges - before you begin to play an AD shows, sometimes you can skip after 5 seconds. Then after ad you start to play. A little time goes by in the game and the DURING gameplay, there are “AD breaks” where you have to watch another ad before resuming. These can happen multiple times in a game. Then once the level is finished, you watch another AD before continuing. I understand ads before or after but not before and after and during gameplay. The ad pacing would normally feel fine without the need to restart some levels, triggering more ads. ✓ So…I love cryptoquip. That’s the name of the game that’s played in the newspapers. Yes, I’m old fashion I still get the newspaper. Anywho, every game is the different. For 20 some odd years, two different states, multiple cities- the problem is always something different. Now, this game was fun. Until about level 10 when the problems began to recycle. The weirdest thing is with new levels comes new challenges where letters are locked and you unlock them to take a jab at solving the word. However, the puzzles are recycled so we always know the word. What I do enjoy is I don’t have to erase it I get a letter wrong, thanks to technology and the creators of the game. ✓ New update?I think there was a new update recently that has me absolutely stumped. It was working great last night everything was on one screen like the levels you buy with coins, the daily levels and the special events. I’m confused now as it seems to have split into 2 different screens, one being bundle mode (levels you by with coins), the other being like a Home Screen with levels that give you water drops and the daily levels. I’m confused by this as there seems to be no other way to get coins to play bundles unless you play the bundles, or watch ads. Since it already gives me alot of ads it doesn’t make sense to do this! I really liked they way it was before and miss the little notification you’d get saying it’s an ad game because of the support or whatever. I don’t understand if this is a glitch or an update. ✓ Missed some bugsI’d love to give this game 5 stars but they can’t get the bugs fixed. I really like this app. Tried three times to send a message asking for help with one of the packs — The Brothers Grimm — it got stuck after I completed the 5th puzzle. It won’t complete and move on to the next. Several of your ads get hung up and I end up not getting the 250 points at the end. Yet you just did an update that says it fixed several bugs. Please help. ✓ Good app but it is adwareI love the app. Nice graphics. But the developer has injected advertisements where ever possible. Make 3 mistakes? Watch an ad. Want a new pack? Watch ads to get the coins. Completing a pack gets you 500 coins but the packs cost over 1000. It is designed to lead you back to advertisements. Want to open a chest? Just get 150 keys. Each puzzle in a pack gets you roughly 3 keys so you need to solve 5 packs at a cost of over 5000 coins. The chest won’t give you back 5000 coins, so it is another way to sell more advertisements. I really love the game but I waste SO much time on the ads it starts to seem like I am watching ads more than I am playing the game. By the way, I paid the real money for no ads but realized I still have to watch them if I want new packs. SO much promise only to ask users to pay the price..Version: 1.9.1

I knew that there would be voluntary ads, which is a bit annoying, but there hadn’t been a reason for me to need to watch them often. Now I’m short on coins to the point where I can’t afford any pack and have to either pay 15 dollars for 5000 coins (which wouldn’t buy me many packs, especially those which are 4000+), or watch ads to gain 200 coins at a time. I’m currently on 200ish coins and the cheapest pack left is 1990. A time wasted game shouldn’t be 10 minutes of ads. The packs themselves are okay. I liked it well enough to pay for ad free version quickly, but I didn’t realize that there is only enough content for a few weeks of play before I’ve ran out of levels I can do. You get coins by doing collections/levels and daily puzzles; you use those coins to buy more collections. While at first a lot of the collections are cheap, they’ve gotten more expensive to where there’s now a net loss of coins. I now can’t do any more puzzles without buying coins or watching ads. I’ve done all the backlog of daily puzzles, and as many levels as I can. ✓ Plenty of problemsA few of the categories aren’t accurate, as in they cite a quote from someone when it’s actually from someone else, list the wrong artist for a song, or even have words missing. I’m also disappointed in the lack of variety and diversity in the categories. Some of the quotes in the “great quotes” categories are borderline racist/sexist and all of the categories are almost or totally made up of white and male dominated quotes/shows/etc. It’s so disappointing to be doing the superhero category for instance and not having a single quote from a female superhero. On the hidden spots where you have to get the letter on each side to reveal the blank, I will get both letters but it’ll still show the hidden spot as locked. ✓ Cool idea bad executionThe idea seems really unique and cool but whether it is a flaw in design or the nature of the puzzle many puzzles are literally unsolvable without blind guessing and hints. You are often left in a position where you are effectively playing hangman but unlike hangman you have to guess the letter and where it goes to get confirmation. Ive had multiple puzzles where it started with only 2 letters and both were already completed so i had no possible way of placing a single letter without random guessing. You can do minesweeper deduction logic where you make assumptions and see if they make sense but without the ability to play letters in the wrong spot instead of just being told you are wrong that is impractical. If i could turn autocheck off it would be an alright puzzle game but with it on the game is just a lot of random guessing or watching ads for hints to get an actually reasonable number of starting letters. Above all that the ads are so intrusive trying to navigate the menu to pick a category requires watching sometimes 4+ ads in a 30 second period. I just completed a level which was a lengthy quote which after filling in all of the letters that are given to you… I had to solve 2 letters… 2!! Even the “ultra hard levels” so far have been eh, might take an extra attempt to work them out but it’s not like a real challenge. The biggest challenge is the long quotes and that’s just because of trying to get through the length of them! Without that added challenge it’s basically the worlds easiest word search and just have a guess at this one or two words are that are missing a letter… I had an idea and I would be over the moon if you’d implement it! Can you do a type of level where you get no letters at all! But instead of the lives counting each mistake on a character you must complete the whole puzzle and click submit- if you have something wrong then you will lose a life! But I’ve noticed there’s a bug that when I do have an ad if I click on the ad by accident I swipe away the pop up to download the game then the ad freezes. The only way to fix it is to close the game and restart it back up again but this has been clearing my progress on the current level I’ve been on meaning I have to start that level from the beginning.
