Mona for Mastodon for Positive User Reviews

Best Fediverse ClientMona is absolutely the best client for the Fediverse. It’s fast, it’s customizable, and it’s rock solid. I have used all the other apps and none of them can do what Mona can. The one-time purchase is also nice knowing you don’t have to sub to it. The dev is constantly improving the app. Buy it today and you won’t be sorry..Version: 5.1

Find me a better app for Mastadon! This one is customizable, accessible, fast and easy-to-use!In terms of customizability, accessibility and user-friendliness, Mona is just the app! works wonderfully for users who need a versatile, accessible and easy-to-use interface to Mastodon!.Version: 5.3

The best Fediverse app for iThingsSimply the best designed and most usable fediverse app for Apple devices..Version: 6.2

Superb execution of a Mastodon clientI’ve tried many Mastodon clients and this one is head and shoulders above the rest on all three platforms, phone, iPad and Mac. The innovation and attention to detail is impeccable. And today I came across the icing on the cake. I turned on an old iPod touch 6th gen to use as an airplay music controller and noted a bunch of Mastodon clients downloaded while it was dormant. Most were grayed out and inoperative, but Mona seemed live. When I clicked on it, the app said it needed a bit of extra code to run on the iPod’s ancient iOS 12.5, and asked if I wanted to download that small bit of code. Sure, I said, and the code was quickly downloaded and installed. I signed in, and Mona operates beautifully on this ancient device. How thoughtful! Thanks to the developer for this extra bit of attention to detail..Version: 5.5

Great app, one problemAbsolutely love the app, it's a great way to browse Mastodon and pairs perfectly with the iPhone app. I plan to buy the Pro version once my trial runs out in a few days. The only issue is that notificatons do not seem to show up on my Mac, and only on my phone. That's not a huge issue but I would like to see it fixed. And yes I do have notifications turned on..Version: 5.4.4

Absolutely fantastic--both dev and appWhen Musk took over Twitter, I knew it wouldn't be long before the place became an even more horrible cesspool, so I migrated to Mastodon. While Mastodon's basic browser interface is fine if you were used to Twitter's regular interface, the advanced interface with columns left a lot to be desired. I tried five or six apps that gave features I used to rely on in Tweetdeck, but each of them had design issues that were too glaring to ignore. Until Mona. Participating in the beta showed me that the dev knew how to make a solid, sleek interface on both mobile and desktop to cater to almost every need you could have. There's SO MUCH CUSTOMIZATION HERE! And not once--even during beta--have i had crashes or errors (save for an error that is on Mastdon's side, not Mona's). If you want columns, you got 'em. If you don't, you don't have to! Everything from URL colors to icon order and text font is customizable. And the beta showed that the dev is quick to respond to anyone's needs. Seriously, give Mona a try before anything else, and I'd bet you'll fall in love..Version: 5.1

THE BEST for MastodonI’ve tried every major Mastodon app out there, having beta tested for most of them, including Mona. Mona offers, by far, the best Mastodon experience. It had virtually every feature I can think of needing and an exceptional ability to customize your app. Even better, those customizations and themes carry across devices without issue. I’ve loved Mastodon and out of the 10 or so Mastodon apps I’ve used, Mona is my favorite by quite a lot. It’s the only mastodon app I have on my iPhone, Mac, and iPad. Very much worth the price!.Version: 5.0.1

Best Subscription-less Client for MastodonIncredibly flexible. Very Mac-like interface design. Superbly customizable Mastodon client. Publishes instantaneously. Lyrical sound effects. What more could you want?.Version: 5.10.4

The Best App for MastodonMona is beautifully-designed, easy to use and endlessly customizable. It offers all of the features I’m looking for in a Mastodon app. It’s simply amazing!.Version: 5.0.1

ExceptionalThis is the most powerful, flexible Mastodon app for iOS. And it’s the most accessible too. The developer deserves support and congratulations for working closely with, and listening to, the blind community to ensure that blind people can participate fully in Mastodon..Version: 5.1.1

Such a superior app in almost every wayThis app is so polished and works near flawlessly. The only thing I struggle with is when post have a lot of comments. Mona only shows the first comment for replies, and for the rest you have to tap through. It’s really painful when there are lots of comment branches. I hope they consider threaded comments that are all shown hierarchically all on the same page. Basically like Reddit and similar comments are organised. Wolly does an excellent job in this respect (although is less polished in most others)..Version: 5.4.2

Amazing app, and accessible with VoiceOverThis is the best Mastodon app! It has lots of features, and it's fully accessible with VoiceOver. As I have the pro in-app purchase I can sign into multiple accounts as well, that's very useful for me. Keep up the good work!.Version: 5.1

Best Mastodon Client. Period. One time price for all devices. Powerful enough for professional and normal users. I mean POWERFUL..Version: 5.1

Probably the best iOS mastodon appJust works. So many features, amazing customisation options to make Mastodon feel like home. And the only app I have found that does a reliable job of iCloud timeline sync. Bravo! Upgrading to the full pro subscription was the easiest choice I’ve ever made!.Version: 5.2

Unquestionably the best Mastodon appBrilliant, just brilliant. The app is a joy to use. Everything is where you expect it to be, the iCloud timeline sync is amazing (literally, keep your iPad open while you scroll on your iPad and watch it go). The developer has thought of everything, and then some. Like MFi support. Not sure why it’s there, but it is. Yet somehow this app doesn’t feel bloated. A true triumph. Hope this one sells a lot and wins awards..Version: 5.4.4

Best iPad app i have seen in yearsThis developer understands the iPad in a way that most developers do not. I love this app. It made me replace Ivory. I do wish it had some audio feedback or even haptic feedback (on iPhone) like Ivory does, but other than that this is by far the best mastodon app I have encountered yet..Version: 5.4.2

Best app for accessibility, periodIt’s hard for me to say if I prefer Ivory, or Mona. But it’s unquestionable that at the time of writing Mona is easily the most customizable, and best app for those with accessibility needs. It’s a great app for general use too! Plus unlike Ivory there’s no subscription here. Just a one time payment to unlock all functionality. I highly recommend this app.Version: 5.9.4

Best of the bunchI've tried several Mastodon clients, and this is by far the best. Not only is it feature rich, but each version, iPad, iPhone, Mac, takes full advantage of the the device you're using. Thank you to the developer for a fantastic Mastodon experience!.Version: 5.6

There is much to likeThis app checks off so many boxes for a Mastodon Power User..Version: 5.0.1

Excellent!Feature-rich with 1st class usability and is beautifully accessible for VoiceOver users. Well worth paying for the pro version.Version: 5.7

Great app, but need some slight work with voiceover.I had to call Apple accessibility so that I could get a little assistance visual wise with this app. When you find a persons profile, their picture, along with their followers, who they follow, and the follow button are all in one box. Voiceover is not able to read the follow button. You have to swipe left to the more button, then swipe right to the send a request button to the follower you want to follow. When you turn, voiceover off, the button shows up as blue. When you turn voiceover on the button shows up as gray. Voiceover is not reading this. Other than that small complaint, this app is very good. I recommend it to anyone who wants to use this app..Version: 5.4.2

Great App for iOS and MacThis is an incredibly good app that is frequently updated and ranks up there with the best social media apps I've used on either platform. It's also got a beautiful user interface that makes Mastodon much more fun. I've just about tried all of them, too. You have to try this out before you spend money on a Mastodon app. I paid for this one..Version: 5.5

Use Apple kit? , Use Mastodon? Then use thisPossibly the first time I’ve used an app and its done everything I wanted it to from the get go (well 99%) It’s very smooth and looks great. Dev is fantastic, the app is getting better and better ! Dev is super responsive to new feature requests!.Version: 5.6

Thumbs upGreat app.Version: 5.9.3

A requestPlease add the ability to mute posts like in Spring. 🙏.Version: 5.9.4

IPhone app like they used to make ‘emClever, thoughtful, powerful design. No nonsense. The best client out there..Version: 5.10.7

Best Matodon AppI’ve tried most of the other Mastodon apps and Mona is, in my opinion, the best one. The layout is fluid and it has reading and editing features that set it apart from other apps, as well as the ability to customize the interface to your liking. Well worth the cost!.Version: 5.4.2

Great appThis along with Spring have been really great apps 👍 thanks for putting so much effort into them and pricing them so reasonably.Version: 5.2

My favourite way to experience MastodonThere are so many thoughtful facets to this app that make it the best representation of the core Mastodon way opf doing things, with some lovely extras. This is a deep app as well, but not overwhelming. Take time to disccover what it can do and incorporate it into how you use Masto and you'll be heavily rewarded. The Pro features are also worth every penny to me, not just to support the devs, but aslo their functionality being additive. TL;DR This is the best Mastodon app in the Apple ecosystem - and yes I've tried the others (and paid for them too...)!.Version: 5.9

Absolutely the bestI’ve tried a lot of the Mastodon iOS apps but this one is my favorite. Not only is it very smooth and fast, it looks great too, with a user interface that matches the look and feel of the operating system. The closest comparison to Mona is perhaps Ice Cubes, but that app has a lot of bloat to the UI and feels a bit slower. Also, Mona allows more customization than any of the apps I tried. Best thing? No stupid monetization model. I gladly paid for the Pro Max version of this app to get it on all my Apple devices. And since it’s a one time fee, I can enjoy it as long as I want and not have to worry about paying monthly like some other apps. Big thumbs up from me..Version: 5.10.2

Great app just got even greaterThe latest update adds a setting to reverse the directions of feeds. This was the only complaint I had about the app and now it's perfect!.Version: 5.9

I was going to purchase but…So after the trial I was like this is really cool. I think I’ll support it. But after the trial I wasn’t able to favorite or reblog and i was like, those are standard features. That shouldn’t be paywalled. So i decided not to contribute and delete the app.Version: 5.8.2

Customisable and available on all my devices!Great to find out that the API usage resource burden issue has been resolved. This is one of the best and most customisable Mastodon clients for Apple devices. Great accessibility and shortcuts support too..Version: 5.1.1

SuperbThe been app for Mastodon.Version: 6.2.1

Easily the best appThe functionality is perfrct, does everything a standard Mastodon app should do, and the amount of customization is huge. I've tried a handful of apps for Mastodon on Mac and this one is easily the best..Version: 5.0.1

In a crowded field of Mastodon apps, this is the one you wantHighly configurable with robust support for theming. I’ve tried others — many of which are very good — but I keep coming back to Mona on my iPhone, iPad, and Mac..Version: 5.1.1

My preferred Mastodon client.I love the customization, but the defaults are sensible as well. And so many commands can be exposed to the user. My killer feature is the robust share sheet for a post, allowing you to customize what is sent. Most apps would just send the link to the post. Mona allows you to send: - The author's name - Date of the post - The text of the post (!) - Link (of course) - Screenshot of the post (!) ...Or any combination of the above, which can be much more useful for several reasons. Other features I enjoy: - Loading posts directly from the remote server. - Viewing *all* the favorites and reposts, even those on other instances (which the 1st-party Mastodon app doesn't appear to be offer). - Very affordable compared to Ivory (and I love Tapbots' work), allowing me to give more towards keeping the Mastodon instances afloat. I could keep going. Keep up the great work!.Version: 5.10.4

THE BEST MASTODON APPThat’s a big claim, Peter! Well I’ve tried most of the iOS Mastodon clients and Mona is (in my humble opinion) the hands-down best. Almost every aspect of the app can be configured letting you configure it to suit your way of using Mastodon..Version: 5.1

Nearly thereVery good iOS Mastodon client, provided you don’t mind paying to post media. Couple of improvements could be made though. Writing threads doesn’t currently have enough manual control, you can’t choose where to split posts, or choose not to have things like “1/3” or an ellipsis. You just get your long text split across multiple posts formatted how the app decides. This also means you can’t add media to anything but the first post, unless you write each post in the thread one after the other as replies. It would also be good for “Add to Reading List” to be a default action when tap and holding on a link rather than needing to open up the “Share Link” screen to perform that action. I’d also like the option to turn off the text box for replies that appears above the bottom bar when viewing a post because it looks very out of place and you can also reply by tapping the Reply button on the post itself anyway.Version: 6.2.1
