Fudget: Monthly Budget Planner for Negative User Reviews

Another subscription serviceF2 is a polished version of F1 and nothing more! For the price of the yearly subscription, (or even cheaper) you can get MoneyHub and connect all your bank accounts and let the app do all the budgeting for you. This app doesn’t qualify a subscription service given how basic it is. It’s a shame that developers build something really good then burn it to the ground with greed. I’ve been an avid user of F1 for years, guess my journey stops here. Top mark for developer, Danny for his communication with users in need. Hope he can reconsider the pricing structure before it’s too late..Version: 2.0.0

Waited months… deleted instantlyI can only go by the previous review about the subscription fees. I didn’t make it that far. You now need to sign up for an account to even use it at all. Fair play… not interested though. The 1st app was perfect, then it stopped working properly. I waited months for the new app only to delete it 60 seconds later. Womp womp. Fudget was good while it lasted. Best of luck Danny. New Budget App recommendations?.Version: 2.0.0

So many fake 5 star reviews.Danny, boy, wow. Scam? I just downloaded the app and my email is already being spammed by you. “2 million users” came from FUDGET 1, an app that left you alone once you paid. The only difference between the fudget 1 and 2 is that fudget 1 was a one time fee to access the premium features, and now with v2, you gotta keep paying with a subscription and deal with spammy email and in app pop up practices. No one who paid for v1 has been given any compensation for what they paid for years ago. Years after grabbing our money for fudget 1, dev kills the app and support and replaced with fudget 2. Most users of this app aren’t new. Now dev expects us to pay a subscription to him as a smack in the face reminder of what scam he did. This app is trash anyways. Only reason we all used it was cuz you paid one time and it was yours and it was a simple app. It’s simply not worth this. Y’all don’t stick around for V3. Trust me..Version: 2.0.2

Disappointing updateThe original Fudget was almost perfect. I still use it, despite the balance line within budgets no longer appearing at the bottom but oddly following your finger if you need to relocate transactions (an annoying glitch). This new version has a cluttered design. Too many options all squeezed into the frame. I like being able to leave a note on each entry, but it disappears if you email the file to yourself for permanent documentation. The sleek, spare elegance of the original is gone and sorely missed. Honestly, though, not having an option for lifetime subscription — which so many other budget apps offer — is the real deal breaker. Hopefully Fudget 3 won’t take another forever in getting here..Version: 2.0.2

Fuget ClassicThe original Fudget classic pro version we supported monetarily has been abandoned and no longer available. This new version offered with paid subscription requires constant online connection to work, requires registration so potential important or private data can be exposed. Many of these other kinds apps have exposed sign on credentials to be released on the dark web. Not that this one has done this but the potential is there. I would prefer the option to buy to own and also for it to work without an internet connection or work while there are internet outages..Version: 2.0.3

GreedyProducing a new app with a subscription service without notifying AND without giving any incentives to the previous customers who paid for pro on the OG Fudget app is crazy. Claimed that it was lifetime but yet the app is no longer fully functional...? Very disappointed in you Danny. That’s greed. I loved Fudget and used it very often but now I will be taking my business to a different budget app!.Version: 2.0.1

The last version stopped workingI had already purchased the premium version on the fudget app but that one stopped working properly. I’m assuming they did that to make people download the new version and buy a new plan. So my money on the last version has gone to waste.Version: 2.0.1

Loyal customer crapped onI’ve used the Fudget app for years. I purchased the pro version. I noticed the app hasn’t been working properly due to glitches, only to find the version I have is no longer eligible to be updated and I would have to purchase again due to a new version of the app being created which is unfair to me because it was supposed to be a one time purchase. I now have to find a new budget app to purchase. It’s not about that cost, it’s just unfair to people like myself that have used the app for years and has shared it with SO many people..Version: 2.0.12

Extortionate, failed promisesI had just a few operational suggestions for the original Fudget—not crazy bells and whistles or new functionalities, just simple fixes for things that were unintentionally coded to be inconvenient for the user. They could have been fixed with a simple update at any time, and the maker said they were being included in upcoming Fudget 2, which I took to mean 2.0, aka, an update. But, instead, it not only took years to come, he never bothered to do a single update, instead replacing my one-time purchase with a subscription (via a whole new app, killing support for the old one), that costs the same amount every year (and that’s AFTER the discount being so generously provided, for a mere three weeks, to people who thought they already paid for the product in full). In short, it’s an extortionate money grab. Not sure why I would trust this guy, even if I was ably to shrug off or rationalize the disregard he is treating paying customers with. I guess I will use the original Fudget until it no longer works, and then figure something else out that doesn’t involve getting played. Pass..Version: 2.0.1

It’s changed to a subscription based business modelThe previous app had a 1 time fee for “pro”. This one is subscription. I believe they should have discounted the members from the previous app since it was not fully functional anymore. Additionally, they stated that they could not fix it without us losing data. Still in yet, I am VERY pleased with this new app. It still keeps the simplicity, but modernizes and optimizes everything..Version: 2.0.0

No updates for Fudget? After waiting for updates, the app developer finally decided to grace us with a “new version” of their app, instead of sending out updates to their original Fudget app. I had a paid version of previous one which never received any updates in ages to fix bugs. Currently that app crashes each time I launch it. I can’t help but feel like the developer just took us for a ride. They clearly had no intention of delivering a worthwhile update – it’s like they figured they could milk their existing user base for more money without putting in any real effort into their previous fudget app instead, launch a different app with new subscription plan for an ad free experience. Well, I, for one, am not falling for it anymore..Version: 2.0.1

Cash cow from Fudget 1I upgraded to to the paid version of Fudget 1 not so long ago to find it can now not be edited, is clunky and their is no support, just a message get Fudget 2. The inconvenience of having to re-input all my incoming and outgoings again manually is a no for me, I will look for a better app that is not regenerated as a cash cow to purchase again. In addition the back up on the original version is via Google box which I do not have and am not being forced into where common sense would be to back up on iCloud !.Version: 2.0.6

Very Buggy and minimal real updatesThe refresh for this app is disappointing. It’s mostly a skin update with some tools that aren’t super useful. The calculator function for instance only lets you calculate between two values. If you want to add three numbers together…well you’re out of luck. Also the “Paid” function is kinda gimmicky. You still can’t run multiple totals or have goal oriented budgets inside the app. The subscription change is whatever imo. $15 to $20ish bucks a year is worth keeping track of my cash flow, but man this update lacks the feature updates and polish you’d expect. I hope the Dev continues to work on this and build in new features..Version: 2.0.3

Prefer old oneTried to download the first fudget as I bought it a few years back and have been using ever since but due to upgrading my phone I can’t find it on the App Store. This number two you have to subscribe and pay monthly where as the old one once you buy it that’s it no need for subscriptions..Version: 2.0.2

Again?I paid money for the version 1, so now instead of updating the version 1, they deleted that from the Apple Store and brought version 2 that you have to pay for it again? So if I pay for this one too, you will be bringing version 3 to pay again??? No way!!! Stay out of this app guys, find better apps.Version: 2.0.2

Yet another subscriptionAbsolutely hating that the devs have decided to make a move to add yet another subscription to our list of many subscriptions, ultimately providing much less value to customers. Last Fudget was a simple app which allowed you to make a one-off purchase, which is exactly as it should be for something like this. Worked perfectly, and now moving to this is a massive downgrade. Will be finding an alternative..Version: 2.0.0

CrapWon’t let me i go into without leaving a review.Version: 2.0.5

Pricing for full version insaneBeen a original Fudget user, after a couple of updates the developer stopped supporting it citing forthcoming release of Fudget 2 - it arrives and its £4.99 a month, it’s a nice app but £4.99 a month- no thanks. I would buy it for use for £4.99 or a little higher but for what amounts to a digital balance sheet I will pass.Version: 2.0.0

DissatisfiedVery unhappy with all the changes. Especially after paying for the first upgrade in the original Fudget and not receiving anything. I’ve lost my ability to have multiple budgets and lost my themes. Now if I want anything more I have to pay 5x or the original amount and that payment is annual. Very very disappointed with this app after they destroyed the first app making it almost unusable. Keep in mind anyone who upgraded paid for them to break it and come out with a “better version” that has a paid subscription. Sorry but I am deleting both applications..Version: 2.0.0

Uncomfortable with creating an accountFudget 1 was the perfect basic budget app that I happily paid for the Pro version. I would have happily paid another $5-10 for an updated version but I won’t be subscribing or creating an account. The privacy policy is awful, the app should never have access to any financial information tied to email or IP address. Ridiculous stuff - pretty disappointed, and will be looking elsewhere..Version: 2.0.0

Free Version???Has the free version of this app been removed , my account got deleted and now i can’t login without paying for it??.Version: 2.0.11

App Store violation?I have Fudget 1 Pro which is not limited to number of devices or number of budgets. However, Fudget 2, which replaces Fudget 1 with a subscription limits the free version to 1 device and 5 budgets, thereby removing features I’ve already paid for. I believe this violates Apple App Store rule 3.1.2(a): If you are changing your existing app to a subscription-based business model, you should not take away the primary functionality existing users have already paid for. For example, let customers who have already purchased a “full game unlock” continue to access the full game after you introduce a subscription model for new customers. I believe the developers need to restore all Fudget 1 Pro functionality to Fudget 2 for those who have already purchased Fudget 1 Pro, including any other existing functionality that I’ve not yet noted. While Fudget 1 Pro it’s a wonderful app, my 1-star rating for Fudget 2 is based on my belief that there is an App Store violation..Version: 2.0.0
