✓ Gone woke?Hmmm I’ve been using this app for a long time, a couple of days ago I was checking out some devotionals and one of them was displaying a rectangle with the rainbow colours. Is this what I think it is? Just in case app deleted, im sticking to The Word of God alone, we live in a very sick and perverse world, to every Christian out there pls protect your faith, don’t just trust everyone called “Christian” be on guard because the days are evil..Version: 9.18.1
✓ Miss Melody LambI don’t usually think about loving an app, however when asked “do you love this app” without hesitation my immediate response is yes. That got me thinking about why? This app is no ordinary app, this app carry’s the living Word of God and for many years now, this app has connected me to what the Spirit of God is saying now. The many translations opinion has broadened my understanding and enabled me to grow in knowledge of Gods character. The topics option has made my bible study easy giving more time to dig deeper and discover new mystery’s. I am a mature Christian and use to feel a bit guilty about not reading my paper bible, but God is not limited to my paper pages and this app has been instrumental in keeping me current and disciplined with daily readings through the “streak” & “perfect count” feature. Yes I love this app, it brings Jesus alive every day and I quote and share with the world around me the wonderful mystery’s of Gods love revealed to me through using it..Version: 8.14.7

✓ Tough to navigate through,So hard to make your way through this app. You hit the Bible icon, search for Philippians and it won’t bring you to the start but rather throw out random verses of Philippians. So you can’t start at the beginning. So hard to navigate, all I want to do is read the Bible and this app makes it so hard..Version: 9.32

✓ Unusable on iPhone XClaims iPhone X support in numerous updates but this app keeps crashing and freezing. Whenever I switch to a different app and switch back to this bible app, the entire app freezes and I have to restart the app. This happens 100% of the time (no exaggeration at all). Whenever the app gets restarted (i.e. reloads with the ‘youversion’ loading splash screen) it takes about 9-10 seconds to load. This is absolutely ridiculous on any iPhone - let alone the new iPhone X, which only indicates one thing - the app isn’t fully optimised for the iPhone X. Although the screenshots seem to show that the app accommodates for the new iPhone x screen size, it is clearly not optimised in terms of performance. Just because an app acclimated for the new iPhone X screen, doesn’t necessarily mean it is supported - there are A LOT of under the hood tweaks that need to be done in order for an app to be optimised for iPhone X. This only shows to me that the bible app developers are lazy. Please fix this issue because for now, this app is deleted from my iPhone until a proper update is released to fix this. Also another suggestion: since the Bible contains COUNTLESS of words that nobody knows the meaning of, it would be a fantastic idea to allow users to define INDIVIDUAL words using the embedded iPhone dictionary’s ‘define’ option when highlighting a word. Nevertheless, a wonderful job on the aesthetics of this app - the best there is on the App Store :)).Version: 8.0.7

✓ Great AppUpdated: Great App. 2 stars instead of 5, for plugging The Bible Project’s material into the daily verse-related story. The Bible Project gives a New Age slant on the Word, with a little truth and a little misleading into the content. People who don’t have “ears to hear” won’t hear. E.g. what is the “Kingdom of the skies”? Nonsense! There is a big difference between the concept of ‘heaven’ and the concept of ‘skies’. The Bible in my pocket … I use it every day. But, sadly, it’s a matter of ‘regard the good, discard the bad’. I refer to the ‘endorsement’, of false prophets by giving them a platform. No need to name them (TDJ is one example) … a simple online search reveals their true colours. These people speak half truths and apply the Gospel to fit their agenda. One has to be selective on who you listen to for the message of the day. New believers will find this hard to do, as they are still growing in knowledge. The devotionals available are amazing… but there too… research who the writer is before you read. The Bible tab is wonderful… a variety of translations with a ‘compare’ feature so that one can get a clearer understanding. Also a highlight feature, tags, notes, and so much more..Version: 10.0.1
✓ Bible App or Social Media AppThis application was perfect without all the social media elements that are being pushed in our face. Right now, I can read verse of the day without seeing the distracting video alongside it. Reading scriptures, plans and verse of the day is more than enough. Please search Christian answers for the new age’s website (just google them it will show up). The Enneagram was channeled from demonic spirits yet many in the church endorse them including youversion, who has devotionals on the topic. Reason 2 you shouldn’t download is it contains The Passion Translation. This was ‘translated’ by one man, Brian Simmons who has radically altered the text. Many scholars have criticized it saying it’s deeply flawed and can lead you to a different god. YouTube Mike Winger’s passion project. He played scholars to review the passion translation and give their honest feedback. The Passion translation is at least 50% longer than any reliable translation and promotes a false NAR theology. ✓ Update causes distraction from the textUsed to be very good but now they added more than the holy scripture. The new update added distracting videos beside the daily verse. I may have to delete and change apps. The app should keep the reading and videos separate. The videos beside the holy text not only distract from the holy word but takes away from it. ✓ Good features but…This app has some great features. Navigation is easier than many alternative apps and ability to create notes seems easier as well. Two points of disappointment. 1. It would be great if there was an option to NOT have search history and user content linked to us and to keep that information private on the device - not in the cloud. Many people don’t want their data in the cloud and are looking specifically for that level of privacy. People could still sync between devices via iCloud if they wanted to. That would be my preference, just iCloud, rather than having a footprint there AND in everybody else’s cloud service. 2. This app opens you up to SO MUCH SPAM. I’m forever having to unsubscribe from this or that type of email. Just because I believe in God doesn’t mean I have to be nice and politely accept SO MUCH SPAM. The third-party affiliates have simpler spam controls than YouVersion. I’ve turned off all the options and still received a new kind of email today..Version: 9.18.2

✓ Missing scriptureHow can you promote versions of the bible that are removing scripture. ✓ CalI have 3 bible apps, but this is the one I use the most. Mostly because it is so versatile and easy to use. The options to do more are great, with alerts and reminders and a host of other things that you can slot into daily lifestyle. The only thing I get frustrated with is the looking for verses within a chapter. The menu gives me the option to select chapter, but not verse, i.e. I have to scroll down to the verse that I require. I hope that they improve this aspect for ease and swiftness of access. With the new upgrade, I can no longer access the bible plans that I have chosen - they seem to have been wiped. Also I have to login to access daily plans - a ridiculous addition. I also have to login to highlight parts of scripture. It seems as though the app now wants to imitate elements of social media (which to an extent is fine), but when you have to login to access basic things, this seems absurd. Even after I logged in to access a reading plan by cs Lewis, it still did not acknowledge that I had chosen it and I could not choose the private option. It would be great if the creators would just go back to simplicity. This new upgrade is frustrating to say the least..Version: 8.0.6

✓ February challengeI am disappointed with how you reward your badge system! I was on bedrest and had lots of time and chose a 21 day plan as was the challenge to finish in February. However, since I had time on my hands and time to spend in prayer I chose a prayer plan! At that time I had other circumstances going on so sometimes after contemplating and praying I would excitedly move on to my next plan… I was then notified that I could still get the badge if I completed by the end of geriatric so I reread and enjoyed the time to remind me of some of the challenges and the closeness and relevance it was to spend time in this review. To my disappointment I was still not gives the badge. Therefore I will not be completing any more plans simply for someone else’s opinion of my personal relationship with my God that is between him and I. So lesson learned I only need to seek and honour him approval from my Lord and Saviour and no one else will judge or feel the need to judge by putting forth these “man made” rules for you to judge my personal journey!.Version: 9.20
✓ Lots of resources ready when I need themA great app, been using it for a few years now. Features that I really love and find handy- 1) Free App 2) Bible reading plans covering a huge variety of topics of various lengths (a few days to a full year), from a variety of sources, some with references to books that the extracts are based on if you want to read further, using different media (including audio and video in some cases), easy to search and save plans for later, links to related plans if you really get stuck into a good/useful topic. 3) many different bible versions available (eg. The message, amplified, NIV, NKJ etc.), with options to change versions and compare. 4) ability to take notes and mark passages 5)new verse of the day and much more. This has made it so convient for me to follow specific bible plans relating to my current needs and look up verses wherever I am. (Right now I can continue reading a plan while waiting for my hair colour at the hairdressers! 😁.) . Love, highly recommend..Version: 9.24.1

✓ DisappointedI am not searching for ‘plans’ on a regular basis. The ability to search for the actual bible on this app is becoming nearly impossible. Each new upgrade has taken the user further from the text and deeper into the commercialization of the bible. I am disappointed whenever I attempt to use this app. What was once a fantastic way of carrying my bible at all times has become a bombardment of biblical influencers. ✓ You version bibleIf I could rate this app a zero, I would because it sucks in a lot of ways. The developers won’t accept any suggestions as to improve the app. The developers don’t seem to know what they are doing as far as debugging their own software and can’t seem to correct the issues presented to them from their users. Instead they just tell you that they don’t see the same problem you do and that they can’t or won’t help you. A simple feature like they have in their app called streaks does not have the option to turn it off, if you don’t like it; which is not good if it’s something that is bothersome for a user. Why can’t we have the option not to use it? I asked for this to be implemented a couple of times, and was ignored totally. Not even a single reply. I won’t use this app again and will not recommend it to others..Version: 9.6.1
✓ Terrible unusable offlineBible app looking for your data? I just wanna read the Bible offline. They make it incredibly complicated and requesting an account just to download the Bible and when I created one it still doesn’t let me download.
