✓ I bought it... am i impressed???Well yes... and no. The vocab that it does have, it does to perfection. BUT there is a lot of vocabulary it doesn't have and its very irritating if your looking for a particular word. The verb conjugations are really good for the spanish verbs at least. It needs to be updated with more words because for the $24 dollars or whatever you would think you could just go down to the shop and buy a spanish dictionary there. Just more words!!! ✓ Super Dictionary!!!What makes this app far better than a typical Spanish dictionary is that it provides verb conjugations in all tenses. Not only does it provide conjugation lists for each verb in each tense, it also allows you to search on a conjugated verb. This feature makes it superior to verb conjugation books because they only provide lists. This is the most expensive app I have bought, but it has been worth every penny. The only thing I wish they would add would be English descriptions of the verb tenses. Since I am not a language professor, it is hard for me to remember them by name alone..Version: 0
✓ Great!I would love to give this a 5 star rating but I think it is a bit overpriced. If it was just a little bit cheaper I would definitely give it a 5! With that being said I love this app! I almost have a whole book shelf filled with spanish dictionaries and references books but this little app I actually refer to the most! 2 great things about this is that it is portable and requires no internet access! I just keep my iPod in my purse, no need to drag my big clunky laptop or big dictionary around everywhere I go when I have this! ✓ Well worth itI recently moved to Spain, and this has been a life saver. I use it nearly everyday. It's super convenient to have it on my phone...much better and more discreet than carrying a book around with me everywhere I go. It has a much greater depth than any of the other comparably-priced translator devices I've used. It's a great resource for anyone looking to actually learn the language. The conjugation info has been especially helpful. It's certainly well worth the price for anyone taking a Spanish class or spending any significant amount of time abroad. Extremely useful declensions of all the tenses of the verbs. When you type in word it will also suggest the word you are looking for which is similar to what you typed. ✓ Pretty goodOverall the program is good. Works easily, appears to have a fairly broad dictionary and the conjugation function is nice. But there are some weaknesses. For example the conjugator does not appear to work for reflexive verbs. You can find irse in the dictionary but there are no entries in the conjugator. Same is true with other reflexive verbs that I searched. This should be easy to address in future versions of the program. ✓ HasnI've looked up words I wanted to learn and words they never teach you but that most people use (you know what I'm talking about). It has it all! I also find it extremely helpful that it will conjugate verbs with the touch of a button. It also has a great feature that, when you look up a word, it shows phrases using that word and words that come before and after it in the dictionary. ✓ Excellent value for moneyThis is a fantastic app. IT IS NOT EXPENSIVE for what you get. Don’t listen those who can’t even spell “too” let alone “demasiado”. This is a full-size complete dictionary, which would normally cost £20-£30, plus complete verb tables, which would normally be about £10. If you're looking for a phrase book because you want to ask for "una cerveza", this isn't for you, but if you're serious about learning Spanish, here's what you need. You won't just save a packet but loads of time too. It takes just seconds to look things up - far quicker than thumbing through a conventional dictionary or verb book. What’s more, you're carrying something the size of a toaster with you wherever you go in your smart, featherweight, pocketsize iPhone. I've just come back from Spain, and this nifty app made a world of difference - I was able to look up anything, no matter where I was at any time of the day or night, because I always had my phone with me. The interface on this is fantastic. Results for your query are returned as links which allow you to jump straight to verb tables or further definitions. The dictionary even suggests correct entries if you misspell something, which is great if something's on the tip of your tongue. Online translation sites (even if you could get online all the time) fail to spot nuance. ✓ Great app so far!I have only used this app during the last week and it is doing everything that I want it to so far. It is missing a few words and it would be nice if it had the power of a large dictionary, but is easily as good as the pocket translation dictionaries (even better with the conjugations - what is the subjunctive for caber?) and more convenient. Not just a direct translation as offered by many other apps. I've had this app for many years (bought it back in the day when it was like $40!!) and I love it and it was worth it then. ✓ A very useful appI recently started serious study of Spanish. I got this app after using several other apps. These were all useful in various ways, but this app is in a completely different league in terms of the range of ways it helps me. The definitions for each word give the full range of meanings of the word as well as several examples in Spanish of the use of the word. Also important for me is being able to conveniently hear the proper pronunciation of each word and phrase. The complete treatment of the conjugation of verbs is a great help in mastering both the grammar and irregular verbs. This app is relatively expensive as apps go, but I have found it to be worth every penny. I highly recommend this app to serious students of the Spanish language..Version: 2.7
✓ Weak on slang terms, but otherwise very impressive!Yeah, it's a little more than I would like to pay, but honestly, it's worth it (and it appears to have dropped a bit in price from when I bought it). ✓ This is a really good programI understand the pricing problem. Thirty dollars is probably too expensive, but 20 dollars for this program is really worth it. I am fairly fluent. I have many Spanish patients that don't speak English. I have been to South America many times. I love Spanish Gospel music. The interface is excellent. You can start with a word and translate from English to Spanish or from Spanish to English. You can also highlight any word in the definition of a word and go to that word. Going back (or forward) to an original word is done easily by pressing the appropriate arrow. Many uses of the word and various idioms are also given. A history of your searches can also be entered easily. The text is very legible. The congugation of a verb is easily done, and in many tenses. The numbers translation is an extra bonus. The only thing that would make it better would be a whole section on grammer. But this is a dictionary, not a grammer exposition. Of all the dictionaries that I have examined for the Iphone (and I have downloaded many), I have found this one the best. This dictionary I will use a lot. Well worth the price. ✓ Useful but priceyThis app is quiet useful if you're out without access to the internet and you don't want to have to carry a big dictionary around with you just to translate a word. Although the price is a bit excessive it does seem to have a good range of vocabulary. It's worth the price if it's something that you're going to use regularly. It would be handy if you didn't have to explicitly specify if you want to translate from Spanish to English or English to Spanish. This is far superior to a paper dictionary or one of those Franklin devices and worth a lot more than what they're charging. ✓ Works great in Peru - you get what you pay forChecking into a Spanish immersion program for a month in Peru, I downloaded all the free apps and found each one lacking. The Ultralingua program is worth every penny of its price - I use it 24/7, even in the middle of the night when I wake up dreaming about verb conjugations, roll over and grab the iPod. Seriously, this is a great piece of software, great user interface, very fluid and intuitive in use - highly recommended. Some have complained that it doesn't have a phrase translator - if it did, I would happily pay $20 more. In the meantime, there is iSpeak Spanish, which also works great..Version: 0

✓ I will enjoy this very much.The price may be a little high, but I'm willing to pay it for the convenience. It's just what I want. I wish I had this last year when I was in Spain. A little dictionary takes much to long. This is fast and when you find your word there are lots of common phrases that you may want to use. There are conjugations, phrases, tenses and such. My wishes, for the app developers, would be: I would like the ability to hear the word. I would like a keyboard that is able to use these: é & ñ to find a word in Spanish. Without these the word meaning is totally different. I would also like to be able to go back to the last screen. There is no way to do this, you must re-enter the word you originally entered. Hope this is helpful to anyone that is fussing over the price. The price is what it is and I took a chance and I'm glad that I did. ✓ Great but one requestThis app is very handy but I would like to see the addition of which country/region uses each word. I want to make sure that if I am in Spain I don't use a word that's from Mexico. Sometimes you are just not understood but others you end up saying something vulgar. (e.g. Coger means to grab, to take, or to take hold of something in Spain but in Latin America it can be understood as very vulgar) I understand the no phrase translator since they are very complex and usually contain many errors. Google's translator might get up to 70% right but that's about the best one could hope for. Thanks for a good product though..Version: 0

✓ I use this dictionary all over Mexico & Central AmericaThis app is perfect for basic travel, but also after you become reasonably fluent. I read 50% of all conversation consists of 150 words. But, normal conversation can go anywhere and you could find yourself stuck trying to come up with any of the thousands of uncommon words. Ultralingua is perfect for that and I have it on my iPod so it is always with me. I rarely by apps and even though this app is a little more expensive it is worth every penny to me. However, Developer, please update the app and include one touch definition from the verb conjugation feature. Why cant we click on the infinitive of the verb for definition when using the verb conjugator? We need to re-type the word in the definition search, this can be time consuming and is not intuitive! ✓ So Far So Good!I've had this application for about a month now. I've been studying Spanish for several years and have taken Spanish immersion classes in Spanish speaking countries for the last two years. I had been carrying around a small travel dictionary that often came up short on words and definitions. So far, the Ultralingua dictionary has always found a definition for the word I have been looking up. In fact, I'm impressed with all the slang and idiomatic expressions that show up during a search. The verb conjugation is great, it eliminates the need to carry around my huge book of 500 verbs. ✓ Fantastic, Love the update!This is one of the best apps on my phone. It's easy to use, well-designed, and full of helpful features, such as verb conjugation charts. I use it whenever I read in Spanish or do translation work, and have found it tremendously helpful and much faster than using a paper dictionary. I especially love the fact that it keeps a history of the words you've looked at, and you also have the option to add words to a "favorites" list. This is great when I want to go back later and add the words I've looked up to a vocabulary list. When you look something up, it presents you with a wide range of possible meanings, tons of idiomatic expressions, and also the next several head words alphabetically- so you can discover other words just like when you use a real dictionary! Unlike a dictionary, however, Ultralingua will correct my spelling. If I hear a word and spell it with an s rather than a z or c, the dictionary will automatically suggest the correct spelling. Might be best for people with a bit of Spanish already, so that when you look up a conjugated verb form and the dictionary autosuggests the infinitive form, you can recognize it and see what's going on. I don't mind that a bit, though, and I would give this app eight stars if I could. I have recommended it to several people already!.Version: 0

I would like to see a capacity to write in definitions to existing words, that apply to a particular region or country, that I encounter on the job, or during travel. Being a Chef, I work with people from many different countries, many of whom use different words for the same item. It would be nice to be able to add to the list on my particular phone. However, the contents can improve - there are some funny/grammatically incorrect translations of Spanish expressions: They are wont to say (instead of, they want to say) How size are they (i have no idea what they want to say here lol) Other than that, its pretty good. The search time is relatively fast compared to other dictionaries. Oh i almost forgot. ✓ BEST APP EVER!If you need an app to help you learn Spanish, especially if you are in a Spanish class or in a situation where you may need easy access to a translation, I can't suggest a better tool than this app! It's been helping me learn Spanish and to talk to my boyfriend who actually knows no English, and I knew almost no Spanish before this! It is actually quite good, and the contextual menus that pop up when hovering over words is quite useful. The best feature for me is the verb conjugation function. Though there are a couple of errors as noted by earlier reviewers ( escrito vs escribido), for the most part it is excellent. However, I installed the most recent update, and now the app crashes immediately upon opening. Please fix this soon! Beats looking up words in dictionaries, or pulling out separate books for verb conjugations - just search for a verb to conjugate in all tenses. I haven't yet come across a word which wasn't in its database. The dictionary is great, lots of detail and description but not overwhelming. Easy to access. Looking up and conjugating verbs is extremely easy and reliable. The numbers feature is really handy although I don't need it as much. Might be more handy if I went to a Spanish-speaking country and had to figure out how to say the total on a bill or something, but not so much for a classroom setting. Overall an extremely easy-to-use, reliable and helpful app. I'm using it on my iPod Touch 1st gen and it works perfectly. ✓ Price is only part of the equationYes, $30 was too high. $10 will probably sell many more copies. Ultralingua apparently agreed that $30 wasn't going to work and lowered the price. It's been said by others but Apple has nothing to do with setting prices so slamming Apple for an app's price seems unfair. I felt comfortable buying the app for $20 after having first checked out the Ultralingual web site for more details. After ten minutes of trying the purchased app I found it easy to use. I had no problems with conjugations. As advertised, one does not to be online to use it. Searched-for words displayed in multiple phrase context seems extensive. In practical terms, traveling with a paper version is no picnic. I have yet to find a reliable Spanish-English paper version that fits easily in a pocket. And I most always have my iPod Touch with me so I've added a comprehensive dictionary at no extra weight. Electronic pronunciations would be nice but not sure how much more that would add to the size of the app. Unless I'm missing something, including a simple Help file explaining basic operation may be helpful for some users? We'll see how far a $20 purchase price goes when it comes time for any future updates..Version: 0
✓ Almost Perfect-- Ultralingua Please Read!!!If you are considering a Spanish-English dictionary look no further. This is the most complete, user-friendly, and convenient dictionary available. I HAVE ONE SUGGESTION--- As many users of this dictionary will be students of Spanish, professors, translators etc (all of which I have been at some point), it would be an invaluable addition to provide some sort of "favorites" option. This option would allow users to review and study words they have selected as favorites. The "history" option is ok, but not quite as functional as a list of words that the user could create by simply selecting an option upon looking up a word. I have discussed this option with colleagues and other users and many agree that such an option would perfect this already great dictionary. ✓ Awesome UpdateI second the motion. With this latest update the program is awesome. I like the new forward/back buttons, the history. The dictionary button seems to always work now. It seems snappier in general. I've paid $50 or more for electronic English - Spanish dictionaries. This has them beat and it's always with me. Maybe for the casual user $20 is high but for someone who is serious about wanting to learn Spanish, this is a good value..Version: 0
