β Nice interfaceThis app failed to start up when I first downloaded it, but after restarting my iPhone all was okay. When you run the app for the first time it defaults to a plain white screen. β Simple, and works nicelyI've used this app since it was released. Some laugh at the idea of a flashlight app, but if you have kids it is great to be able to use a low light to see them at night without disturbing. Plus the screen light level is enough to see the floor with. On the iPhone 4, the new LED is a great general purpose torch - there in your pocket all the time. β Simple IS more!I've downloaded other apps before but none have ever seemed to be as bright as this one. The whole half of my master bedroom lights up with this light! The settings are super self explanatory. I even love the simple solid colored strobes!!! Only bummed that the strobe from the "flash" stops when the "color strobe" pops up (hence the 4 stars.) β Works wellA simple concept done well. My only minor gripe... It would be nice if I could set it to show the controls with a double click, rather than single, to avoid them coming up when you accidentally touch the screen. I like that the red is on the far left of slider which makes it really easy to select. (A red light is useful when star gazing because it doesn't upset your night vision.).Version: 0

Also, the bright white doapp splash screen completely defeats the purpose of having the app remember that you set it to (for example) a dim red light to be night-vision friendly. β Alright, the lighter sold me...Can't wait to use the "lighter feature" during the Jonathan Coulton concert at PAX this year. :) The only thing missing from this app is that it doesn't automatically bump your brightness up to the highest possible, although I think it's currently impossible for any 3rd party app to effect the iPhone's OS in any way. Now if only this app could use the iPhone's internal sensors to make the lighters flame sway when you sway....Version: 0

β A step upI retract my earlier comment about this app offering nothing unique. It does blend usability and a wide range of features into a visually pleasing package. That being said, you've got to add the multi-color flash effects back in. I used to love wowing my friends with the epilepsy-inducing police car function and throwing miniature rave parties with the rainbow function. β Great for workThis flashlight replaced my other flashlight ap because it's fast to load, the light comes on without pushing anything after opening the ap (can't see when it's dark), and it has only the emergency lights in it that I would use and not bloated with a lot of fun but useless lights and effects.
