TouchOSC Mk1 for Negative User Reviews

I must be stupid... this is impossible to figure out ...And I work with computer systems everyday. It's my career and I'm good at it. I can't get this MF figured out to save my life and i'm frustrated beyond frustrated..Version: 0

MehGuess its just not the app for me.Version: 1.9.1

No audiobus and no inter app audioI don't use the computer to make music so ween I bought this I thought it would work with inter app audio or audio bus this is a waste of money if you don't use the computer. I'd like my money back since I can't use the program.Version: 1.9.3

Better user guide requiredOnly 1 page of the 21 pages manual is talking about using the application. The iPad version has only 2 layouts and I am still looking for the Logic pd file..Version: 0

No supportNo support whatsoever for pc, touchosc editor has no files in it for traktor skin or any instructions!!!!.Version: 0

Doesn't work with windowsShould have a trial app to test for functionality what a waste of my 5 bucks..Version: 1.8.1

No ableton supportAbleton livecontrol straight up doesn't work anymore..Version: 1.9.9

SupportI tried to contact support for this app by several emails and Facebook with no luck, no response from customer services with TouchOSC and live 9 problem. For that reason i could recommend that no one purchase this app for the lack of support..Version: 1.8.1

CrashingCurrently crashing on iPad Pro running iOS 13.2. I absolutely love this app and use it in all of our artist production. Super bummed that it is not stable at the moment!.Version: 1.9.10

Useless with abletonThis is pretty useless with ableton, if you have the required technical knowledge you can get the scripts installed, but all the able support is very old and by directional views of things like clips playing aren’t really supported.Version: 1.9.11

Will Not Control Ableton Live From iPadI’ve tried everything, followed the online “manual” (such as it is) and TouchOSC from my iPad will not send any midi control to Ableton Live. Installed TouchOSC Bridge on my desktop PC… multiple times, TouchOSC finds TouchOSC Bridge my desktop, connects to it with no issue, configured Ableton Live to correctly to send and receive MIDI using the TouchOSC Bridge but no midi commands from sent from my iPad using TouchOSC register in Ableton Live. I have wasted HOURS fighting with this app, did send in a contact request but as of yet no response. Even at one point installed Protokol, using the OSC protocol was able to see the midi messages being sent but STILL… no midi changes in Ableton. I WANT MY FIVE DOLLARS BACK!!!!.Version: 1.9.12

(Mostly) Working on YosemiteAfter a bit of tinkering, this works well. The available controls are a bit basic - it would be good to have some different shapes for buttons, and being able to edit common properties of multiple selected shapes would save a lot of time when creating a page. I can't get the TouchOSC Bridge to do anything on my MacBook Pro, but fortunately the CoreAudio interface works, even though you have to connect every time you want to use it. Not a fault of this app though. I'm using this for controlling Hauptwerk and it does the job well. In summary, it's still a bit raw in places, but has great potential. Worth paying for..Version: 1.9.3

OSC!I have a lot planned between this, my modular and installations with Renoise among others.. Renoise has that OSC / Midi internal server. Which is great. Easy to really connect. My ONLY PROBLEM as I can’t review the other release.. was thinking eh.. separate programs? Common. I mean, sure, BUT give us supporters and previous owners (& lovers) of the app a little break and I would buy it 100%..Version: 1.9.12

Beware! This app is great on Logic 9.1.2 but a pain to get running on older versions. if I want this app to work I need to pay £20 more for a program called OSCulator, then sit and programme all the functions myself. After several hours of working this out I'm not in the mood to do this right now. Bit of a waste of £2. Just wanted to give others a heads up. It's not impossible to get this to work but there are other ways..Version: 1.7.4

Very frustrating and unusableI've never used this app due to not having any success at setting it up. There is no clear guidance on the developer's website. As a customer I expect to be given full instructions on how to use a product I've paid for. How is it that I am a very competent IT user and can't get this work? Terribly frustrating. I wouldn't recommend this app to anyone till the company doesn't clarify how this app should be connected to a DAW..Version: 1.9.4

Could not get it to workFollowed all the instructions on the site exactly but despite trying all day I could not get it to work in conjunction with REAPER digital audio workstation on Windows 10. Found lots of users on REAPER's forum saying the same thing, though some had some luck by letting REAPER and Bridge OSC through the firewall. I tried this but it didn't work, so I tried turning Windows 10 Defender virus protection off as well, which is not recommended, and that finally got the app working. However, after recording a few bars of MIDI it stopped working again, so I gave up. The app looks great and it looks far more promising than any of the free ones out there, but I'll have to buy a hardware keyboard instead..Version: 1.9.8

Once one of the best appsOnce, TouchOSC was one of the best apps for OSC streaming via mobile. Now, with the limitation of wifi only streaming and the lack of possibility to create an ad hoc secure network on the mac, the app falls short. Moreover, TouchOSC Bridge does not run on the latest version of macOS Mojave. The app seems abandoned to its own faith..Version: 1.9.10

Works well - needs to be easier to customizeThe editor program runs on a computer and needs Java6. The editor needs to be re- released with more recent Java..Version: 1.9.6

I had high hopes but it’s brokenAfter reading some of the reviews I had high hopes for this as a control surface on my pc for Ableton and other software. However I cannot gets the OSC portion of the software to work. Core midi works just fine, but as the editor will not sync via the bridge I’m stuck with a bunch of templates that won’t work, especially for Ableton Live. Tech support is responsive but not helping with the main issue and by the looks of it I’m far from alone in it not syncing properly via OSC. If I get resolution I’ll update my review, but for now 2 stars as at least I can use a few templates in other software..Version: 1.9.11

Abandoned app for more cash grab!Instead of providing existing users with an update or special price for the new version the developer just renamed it and ABANDONED existing users!.Version: 1.9.12

Mac issueNot detecting my OSC message on MAX on my laptop despite being on same WiFI network..Version: 1.9.11

PC or Mac neededCould be brillianr but you need to edit on Mac not on Ipad! This removes you from direct control and not your intution. TB Midi stuff works directly on the Ipad and performs many of the same tricks without a great learning curve or an extra computer..Version: 1.9.10

No sysexThe lack of ability to send sysex strings makes this ap fairly useless..Version: 1.7.3

Pretty and configurable, but wholly non-functionalThe documentation is lacking, and I was not able to get this software working with touch bridgeOSC. Couldn’t find any recent tutorials on getting this to work, either. It’s a shame because this software has so much promise and I really want to love it, but the barrier to entry is just too high to make it worth it right now.Version: 1.9.11

Not working for me as it should (I think…)Perhaps it's me but I got this to control Live and I can't seem to get the LiveControl to work with this. I try to download the Livecontrol for Mac and I can't get it open or running (I'm on Mountain Lion), I know that it's not this developer's fault but it is listed as a feature and isn't working. I don't exactly have all of the time necessary to build a template from scratch so right now the app is just sitting there… I love the idea but can't get it working right..Version: 1.8.1

Set up is impossibleLike another user, I have spent hours trying to get things happening on a PC with Abelton Live. And I'm not a complete novice. There should be some moneyback option if you just can't make it go!.Version: 1.9.1

Doesn’t work with Ableton Live :[I haven’t been able to get the editor to sync with my iPad. About 60% of the templates that it comes with work. But if your intent is to use the “Live Control” or make your own templates, it didn’t work for me. I even checked all the forums, seems the templates for supporting live 9-10 don’t work. Too bad wanted to use this software... I guess I might have to go back to using “Touchable”. If the Devs would update the Ableton templates and fix the sync issues I will change my review. Wasted too much time I could have spent making music instead of trouble shooting abandoned-ware. Shame has potential..Version: 1.9.10

Needs more colour optionsGreat app but developer refuses to add more color options. Could do some amazing things with this platform if the dev was more responsive and accepting of user feedback..Version: 1.9.10

NooIt doesnt connect to my wifi, runnin it from an iphone 3g 8g. i tried everything it just doesnt work, and this problem has happend with many ppl not just me. read the blogs....Version: 0

Please update for iPhoneXI would love it if this could be updated for iPhoneX, thank you!.Version: 1.9.10

Ok...Good app but needs stronger connection... I'm having latency and drop out problems... But when it works, it works well..Version: 0

Difficulty connecting to Mac/MainstageI found the process getting Touch OSC to work with my Mac running Mainstage very challenging and took many steps including downloading 2 other apps on my Mac to make it work. Even then it only worked 1/2 of the time and was always quite the process to get Touch OSC to connect with Mainstage on my Mac..Version: 1.9.12

Great startThis app is a great example of how to use the multi-touch screen effectively. It doesn't try to "look" like a hardware surface, instead opting to use the space as efficiently as possible; something I really appreciate. It's also very responsive, which is among the most important aspects of a control surface in my opinion. What needs fixing: like most apps that aim to be control surfaces, when it comes to mixing the scribble strips are way too small and in the wrong place. Larger, brighter, and at the bottom of each strip is the way to go. Currently you have to really look for your tracks; when you're working on a 30-40 track project, one spends to much time banking and searching. Second issue with TouchOSC: scrubbing. I'd like to scrub the bar/measure and time indicators to move through the project. Otherwise, it's my favourite so far..Version: 1.8.1

RUBBISH,Utter garbage! Has to be the hardest and most complex thing to set up ever used! 5 hours of my life gone! Do not bother.Version: 1.9.11
