Tap Forms Organizer for Negative User Reviews

DicksrusBrought the first version when it was 5.99 no problem the idea and execution is brillant problems for me it does and has lost data today's upgrade has lost a complete set of data hopefully I have backed it up to pc but youust back your data up it has lost single rows I'm the past as well not sure why don't like the change to the navigation view where it is now using an index #012. etc doesn't look right but the idea behind this app. Makes it use endless just not happy with losing data.Version: 0

The best . . .. . . database for the iPhone, very customisable and usefull for keeping all and any kind of info at your fingertips. The last time we used this sort of app was with the Psion S5 and this feels better as it's fast and doesn't crash. 2 stars given due to a serious problem occuring: It hasnt the ability to dial out to phone numbers via your contact list because the word "build" pops up in your phone number stopping it from dialing out?! Strange but true however this maybe fixed via an update and I'll update my feedback when it does hint hint nudge nudge lol :).Version: 0

Dropped iCloud; dropped TapformsPricey upgrade(s) I was going to tolerate, but also dropped iCloud sync. Done..Version: 4.0.7

Don’t botherI’ve used this for years and it was originally fantastic. But it’s nothing but glitches now and the creator won’t fix it because he got greedy and sold out for a new, expensive app with a worse interface than the original. I’ve contacted him several times looking for the original to be fixed so I could keep using it, and he just won’t do it and keeps trying to sell me the new one which I’ve already told him I tried and supremely disliked. Bottom line, don’t waste your time on any of his apps, he just abandons them and then tries to get you to spend more money on newer, inferior products..Version: 4.0.7

Update has corrupted my databaseI have used tapforms for a very long time. A recent auto update has corrupted my database and I have lost all of my info. Ridiculous..Version: 4.0.8

Stopped working on is 14Not sure why I have to pay (again) for the newer version if this one is no longer supported? How long before you drop support for that one and ask us to pay yet again?.Version: 4.0.9

New purchase immediately offers upgrade at full price. There seem to be too many versions. I use tap forms on MacOS and wanted to be able to use it on iOS as well. But when I buy, it immediately encourages me to upgrade to tap forms 5. Don't make your users figure out which version of your app they need..Version: 4.0.7

Now won’t workWas great before last update. Now my encryption key won’t work and I can’t get in! May love again if there was a stable fix..Version: 4.0.9

Had high hopesLooking for bento replacement....this one just makes syncing your database between the mac and the iphone a nightmare....constant fails...dosnt sync on its own... have to reset syncing to make it work....always wondering if I'm going to lose my data.... Bummed that I spent so much on the desktop and phone app.....Version: 4.0.7

Really?Another purchase for long time users. I gave this app 5 stars previous to this update. Now I don't care, they are leaving me, I am leaving them. Beware purchasers of the new app, it'll happen again. It's a temporary purchase until they want more money to stay current..Version: 4.0.7

Pretty scummyBought this version (which was already a pretty expensive app to begin with). You put out a new version instead of updating this app and doubled the price. Won't be purchasing anything from this developer again..Version: 4.0.7

Issue with UpdatesUsed to be an amazing database. With 4.0.8 & 4.0.9, database just crashes upon opening. I no longer have access to all of my info. Tried restoring and still just crashes with iPhone XR. Wish they would add FaceID as well..Version: 4.0.9

DécevantAucun document explicatif concernant le fonctionnement de cette application. Je n’ai rien trouvé sur leur site. Je suis vraiment déçu. Heureusement que j’ai trouvé mieux!.Version: 4.0.7

DisastrousAfter having TapForms for a few years it was my go to for my passwords. Since iOS 13 it has been buggy but worked well until iOS 13.1.2 at which point it creased all function nothing could get it working I was unable to recover the data base. Considering I have Paid for this version and they now want another $27 for the new version NO WAY this had already caused untold problems with my passwords and complete loss of all of them. Tap Forms a very bad idea..Version: 4.0.9

Serious misgivingsSpent hours setting up my database. Backup to my email and the whole database disappeared. Unable to retrieve it or reinstall it in the app no matter how I tried. This app needs to be updated. I will need a refund for the amount of money I paid for this!!! My time is worth a lot more than that.Version: 4.0.9

Just okay for nowI downloaded Tap Forms at the discounted price because I wanted to compare it to HandBase which I currently use. I thought maybe it would replace HandBase, but not a chance. Tap forms is okay, but like I said in my heading, "Just okay for now". When I down loaded it I thought one of my uses would be a list manager. I wanted to make a list with check marks. Although Tap Forms has checkmarks, they are basically useless with a list. You can't check off things from the list view, you have to go into each record individually to check off the record - very cumbersome. In HandBase, you can check of records right from the list view, which is very fast and easy. Another thing, in HandBase you can designate a password for an individual database, whereas in Tap Forms, unless I missed something, you have to have a password for the entire program, not the individual databases. In summary, HandBase is a real database (relational also) whereas Tap Forms is more of a flat record keeping program. It is a good record keeping program, but if you need a real database with relations, calculation fields, etc. Tap Forms is not for you..Version: 0

Can’t syncI’ve had this app for years now and haven’t been able to sync this to my other devices.Version: 4.0.7

I'm doneInstead of upgrading current version this developer constantly comes out with a new version with a hefty price. Extremely greedy!.Version: 4.0.7

OK-ishJan 2009: ver 1.5 This is a personal database app, not a professional database app. There's really NO "form" making in this app. It's good for holding small info about your personal stuff like passwords and addresses. I've never been a fan of this app as the creator has jammed in all the bells and whistles and not focused on the end-user experience. It's amazingly over-priced too! Defiantly a $1.29 app, and I wouldn't pay any more than that, knowing what I got for my $$$. This App looks good, but you can do all the same things with another app called StoreIT at a fraction of the price. If you are looking for a decent Database application for the iPhone, do a search for HanDBase or FMTouch, or Bento..Version: 0

Self sabotage guts a formerly great appThis was a great app that I used for several years. In 2016 the developer decided to change syncing methods. I've tried to adapt to the new syncing method three separate times without success. That's my limit. I'm deleting the app. Now I hope to find another form app with iCloud and/or Dropbox syncing that works half as well as this one does. What a waste. :-/.Version: 4.0.7

App doesn’t synchronize anymoreI have the latest Tap Forms apps on both my iPhone and my MacBook Pro, however every time I try to synchronize it says synchronization failed. I do not know what to do about this..Version: 4.0.7

Legacy Product DisabledBeen using Tap Forms for many years, and it has been working fine. Starting in the beginning of 2020, the product NO LONGER FUNCTIONS. Two error messages appear “Form Editing Disabled” and “Record Editing Disabled”. Time to start shopping for a replacement, and Tap Forms will not be on the list..Version: 4.0.9

Not ImpressedStill not impressed. Get another database if you need relationships and links..Version: 4.0.7

NOPE. GOODBYE.Rather than respect and appreciate long time supporters this developer has chosen to reward loyalty with greed. A reasonable upgrade fee would have been appropriate. Shame on you for having no existing customer loyalty. I recommend not purchasing this app or supporting this developer as I myself now choose to no longer do. Unfortunately..Version: 4.0.7

Many child issuesI've been looking for Bento replacement since it rested in peace. From the first sight Tap forms look pretty good, but with digging into it I found many irritating issues which are stopping me to buy full license for big brother and iPad companion. First and most annoying issue - it's SLOOOOOW. Yes, compared with the old Bento "Ferrari" it's a turtle. Well, it might be OK if you have 75 records database of your home inventory items. In my DB almost 9k records and another 4k awaiting for import. On iPhone it's even slower (what a surprise!). For instance, if I tap on a record to see details and then tap back, every time I see spinning wheel for 5-6 seconds. Every time. If I just going back to the list. Next - it's not intuitive, it's complicated, UX is poor. For instance, I have many lists. And if I would like to edit any of these lists, I can't do it from main interface, I need to go to app options, then lists tab, then select list. Why I can't do it right in the DB design screen? And there are many of shortages like that. Can't believe it has version 3.5 (and 4) I would like to buy this one, it has the killer feature - import Bento DB, but the slowness, poor UX, interface and usability unfortunately stopping me with big regret..Version: 4.0.2

In-App AdvertisementsThe newly added "App Recommendations" are irritating and totally out of place. I don"t like the idea of this app 'phoning-home" to update its ever-changing lists of ads (oh sorry: recommendations) and potentially communicating any user selections back to the app seller. I mean, with what they're charging for this, do they really need the extra few bucks? I bought this app largely based on its supposed SECURITY. Can"t we just have an app that goes online ONLY when -we- want it to?.Version: 0

IPad iOS 16.2 and iOS 16.2Notes keep crashing on edit. Updated to Tap Forms HD but same thing happening. £7.99 paid for nothing. Guess this guy has given up updating. Shame was a brilliant app and I have so much data stored on it..Version: 4.0.9

Sync is very buggy! Careful with sync!I bought the desktop version to sync with my iPhone app. iCloud sync is known to have lag and other problems, but this doesn't mean that this app can't protect itself from them! Syncing with this app can mess up your database, meaning some changes don't go across, other changes appear that weren't done in the first place, form definitions get old deleted fields as well as new ones... Maybe it's because I'm using photos in one of my forms which means syncing takes longer to replicate properly across devices? But the app should at least auto-backup before syncing, and also expect iCloud to go wrong, and so defend itself (e.g. know when to merge sync and when to ask if it should push sync if there is a conflict). To the developer: data should be sacrosanct, it is the reason why users use this app. If the app loses data, or messes it up, the app stops being useful and becomes a problem, which will result in it being deleted and rated badly. Defend the data to the last!.Version: 3.1.1

NonsenseI just lost everything great.Version: 4.0.9

Goodbye but not there yetI bought this over a year ago, and wins in terms of Usability / UI design, despite having been a HanDbase user for several years on PPC platform previously. I went back to the ugly iPhone version because of 2 specific reasons: No filtering / views - would love to set up views on each record type to give different grouping, show specific columns in list view, and show specific rows (filter). If aggregation / calculated fields could be added to this, that would be perfect - eg if grouping my list of expenses by date (should be able to do this by day/month/year etc) then see a field that cannot be edited that gives the total / average / number of entries for that period. Would be useful then to have a marketplace of downloadable record groups or 'apps' giving useful linked records. None of this is rocket science (except maybe the marketplace). So nearly there to make me move back over, but not quite..Version: 0

I found it a little unstableSwitched to ninox and i find that absolutely solid and easy. I think tapforms tries to overcomplicate things. I think the syncing can be problematic and you can mysteriously lose things and the whole database can become unstable. Hence tap forms has a clean up process in the settings. With ninox there is no need for this as there are no issues in syncing and restoring data..Version: 4.0.7

CrashesBeen using this for a few years now and when I now go to open it, it crashes. I can’t access any of my passwords or or personal details. HELP ... this was the only secure place and I do not have a backup. Any ideas how I can get access to it? iPhone XS MAX and up to date.Version: 4.0.9

Can't link recordsI bought this app in order to assign contacts per the standard iTouch app to groups, such as clients, client's other advisors, etc. And to safely store additional info about my clients. That works okay. But, it's important to be able to readily identify a client's other advisors, which could most readily be achieved by displaying links between contacts in my clients list with contacts in my other advisors list. I am very disappointed to learn that it is not possible to link existing entries. There is meritless functionality to create new duplicate entries for contacts within either list that are to be linked to contacts within another list. Why is this so difficult given that my Sharp Zaurus purchased in 1990 allowed entries in a wider range of categories to be linked effortlessly. Here we are 20 years later and the technology has devolved rather than advanced. Hopefully I can remove this app so it won't clutter my screen and remind me that I wasted my time and money on an incomplete app. Should we allow pilots to finish building airplanes while we are flying in them? I'd rather get to where I want to go rather than being "taken for a ride.".Version: 0
