✓ Bizarre choice of wordsIts a free App and great if you want to learn very random vocabulary for fun rather than any specific reason. It does, however, crash and then never recover which then requires you delete and reinstall the App. When this happens you loose all the words which is extremely vexing..Version: 2.4

✓ A Little DisappointingThe app's alright. Still, the recordings are low-quality. Also, the full version, is $10, a price I'm not willing to pay for something of this quality. I tried SpeakEasy Russian for $4 and I am very satisfied with it. I reccomend SpeakEasy over this, but for the casual learner, you can't go wrong with a free app..Version: 0

✓ Dont botherThe free version gives you one word. Unless you want to spend the $$$ for the full version dont expect anything. Wasted 20 minutes download. Extreamly dissapointed about how heavily misslead the user is due to a lack of mention you only get one word..Version: 3.2
✓ Paid version crashes..This free version intends to expand the adv. beginner Russian students vocabulary by sending one randomly selected word per day to your device.. . The app is sluggish and has a disorganized amateurish feel but is mildly entertaining if you are happy learning just one new Russian word per day. For the free app and it's teaching tools to be more than entertainment you need to wait for the word bank to grow. To immediately expand the word bank to 2000 words I purchased the $9.99 "In App Upgrade to Full Version" and it crashed. I found reviews here on iTunes for the paid version and see other purchasers are experiencing a non-functioning app for their money as well. iTunes graciously and rightly offered me a refund..Version: 2.4

✓ Do Not Upgrade - Big Mistake!Upgraded this morning before checking reviews. Had I checked, I would NOT have upgraded. I have a "new" word today that I cannot access and will lose when it loads another. I will not be able to access it tomorrow. I also do not like the Pod 101 that automatically opens up when going to the app and you must wait for it to time out. App DOES NOT work correctly. ✓ Not badI've noticed when studying the courses and specific vocabulary words such as the adjectives, the words are always in the same order eve though in my settings the random setting has been selected. I haven't noticed anyway to actually type and spell out the words when practicing. Needs a lot more vocab! I use the Russian, Arabic, and Farsi app and these complaints are across the table for each language..Version: 4.8.1
✓ Mixed bagThis app is not bad, but the vocab is a wild mix of words that are too easy "one", "hello", etc. and others that are rough even if you have a few months of Russian under your belt. Plus constant email pressure to buy the full version. It would help if the words in Russian had the emphasis indicated with a different color or symbol on the correct syllable..Version: 3.2.2
✓ Doesn't always give you new wordsThis app is pretty good but the iPad version serious bug. Although a new badge icon will show up notifying you of a new word of the day, a new word doesn't always load. The iPhone app works fine, but the iPad app had this bug which tends to make this app worthless. All other functions (sound, recording etc.) work fine. I'd say you only get about 3.5 words per week on average..Version: 3.2

✓ Good app, but not for kids.I wish there would be an iPhone app teachig Russian to kids, just a simple bi-lingual two-sided flashcards with big good quality photos. Toddlers get bored with just type, it has to have a good visual. I would pay for that kind of app. Check the best rated English teaching flashcard apps. They do the job. ✓ V1.5 update erases your wordbank! :-(Although the v1.5 update gives you the ability to add more than one word a day, it also erases the wordbank that you might've built up over months by launching the app every day! This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional on the part of the developers, showing such disregard for their users' time & effort. Skip this update & wait for the next one that does NOT trash your hard-earned wordbank!! I'll change my rating from one star after they fix this..Version: 0

✓ Terrible. Badly translated rubbish.What the...???? Was Russian first translated into Italian then German followed by Urdu before finally being mashed into a random Russian word or phrase?? This point of this app is to get you to buy the full version. Well, I did and now I regret it. It's full of so many basic errors that if you follow it, you'll end sounding like a fool. This is a typical "we can write programs so we can be experts in any subject we design" failure. Maybe the publisher should write games instead. Why does Apple allow this stuff to slip through the net? Russians will give you odd looks or won't contain themselves when you speak like a remote farmer. I feel liked I was duped. With an average of two stars, a 100 others seem to agree. It seems that the publishers have hacked the review system as they have somehow hidden my original review on the full version. It now shows "0 reviews" but if you click the icon anyway - you'll see my review. A pointless and dangerous product that will contaminate your learning process with incorrect translation. There are so many better products in the App Store than this contaminated crapware..Version: 2.4
