✓ Useful Application for a Medical StudentAs a medical student I often am asked to go see a patient with a condition I know very little or nothing about. This application serves as a great quick reference to review a disease/condition to enable you to take an adequate History and Physical exam for reporting back to your preceptor. This program is not intended to provide exhaustive medical information, nor will it provide everything that you need to know about a medical condition, but as it's name implies it will bring you "up to speed" quickly. The Layout is well organized in a logical manner, and the menus allow you to quickly go to the area of interest within a topic (i.e history, physical exam, treatment, etc.). The algorithm's are quite useful for guiding clinical decision making, but are somewhat lacking in GUI as compared to the rest of the application. It would also be nice if they allotted for a "notes" section within each topic to put in clinical pearls, reminders, and memory aids. Overall a great first edition..Version: 0

✓ Evidence BasedThe vast majority of topics appear to be soundly evidence based. This is my most trusted and frequently used clinical resource. I made my first purchase six years ago and have purchased two newer versions since. ✓ Delivers on the promise of point-of-care infoThis electronic version of the 5MCC really does give one the most essential clinical information for a huge number of medical topics, and in 5 minutes or less for each! Very impressive. The algorithms need some improvement though - not all completely current. Still, overall works well in iPhone OS..Version: 0
✓ Overall, a great appI have used this app for the past 10 years, as a student and in practice. This is a great app, very easy to use, and I frequently show its information to my patients. The only thing that I find a bit negative is that the duration of doses is frequently absent but this is the case with many apps and references anyway. ✓ Must have for medical providersA must have for medical providers. One of 3 that I carry on my iPad & iPhone. Use Epocrates & Up-to-date. Would like to see dual access for online use as well. Kind of frustrating having to break out an iPhone when working on a laptop or other computer. ✓ Simple, elegant and one of the best appI have been using this app for quite sometime. It helped me alot through long ward rounds and through night shifts to quickly access one of the best reference for medicine. No doubt, it is one of the invaluable and most used app i have. I am also user of skyscape and also tried some other book reader apps, and i have found "unbound's" products layout very sleek, elegant and easy to use. It is pleasant on eyes and allows to work through tons of info quickly and painlessly. This app is definite, definite must have for professionals. I have personally found it much better than other apps around. PS: I recently lost all my data on phone, and i had to contact support team, i received 5 star service, team is very efficient, helpful and quick to respond. One of the best customer service around. ✓ 5MCC indispensable--a classic medical referenceThis is one of the apps I'd been missing since getting an iPhone, so I was glad to find it. (The clinical reference suites I currently use do not have adult 5MCC in their iPhone versions). Yes, there's a cost, but it's a great reference,and it's well-suited to the iPhone interface. A couple of finger swipes and you're reading all about your topic. I like that it has a jump menu to go to different sections of a topic quickly. Lastly, I like that even though this is subscription-based, if you don't renew, you can still access your app--it just doesn't continue to download updates once the subscription has lapsed. ✓ Great AppI am a practicing physician. Have been using 5MCC since medical school. Great quick reference. This version works great on my iPhone 3GS. No problems or crashes. Can't understand why it is rated so low. Probably due to it's "free" listing. I bet a lot of people download thinking it is free. When they find out it cost $70, they delete with low rating.
