Harry's LapTimer Rookie for Negative User Reviews

RubbishCouldn’t even get this started, should be just start/stop review data… but awful layout and requires add on’s for everything, basically they just want you to buy the full version. Don’t bother!.Version: 24.7.1

DoesnTotal waste of $8.99. Didn't work for a SINGLE LAP in a full day at the Thunderhill track. I attempted to get my money back, but was stiff-armed by the developer (Harry) and denied by Apple. Be forewarned, apparently "the app doesn't work" is not a vaild reason for getting a refund. Really? I feel ike I've been robbed by both Harry and Apple. Don't bother with this one..Version: 14.3

Lots features but needs to be easier to useApp seems to have a lot of functionality but it's not exactly plug n play. I can't fiddle with it while on the track so it gets frustrating when it's not working as expected..Version: 21.0.6

Absolute garbageI downloaded this app last year for a DE weekend. At the time, I found it very user in friendly and annoying, but at least it saved my videos and times. Yesterday I used it again for the second time: it froze in the middle of data transfer to my phone, crashed, and then proceeded to delete an entire day worth of lap videos. And then it did it to me again today. RIP video of COTA PR time. Harold and his developers should be ashamed to be selling this app. It is absolute rubbish..Version: 24.7.1

RUBBISH!!!Calibrated the device and had 4 ticks, so 'good to go'. Track loaded and then 'race' selected with nothing more to do. 5 sessions and NOT "ONE" recorded Lap. This is the biggest POS, do t waste your time!! If you're going to charge $30+ for your other timers; if you can't even get the base model right, you can go jump on the others!! Gutted not one time 😡😡😡👎👎👎.Version: 21.0.2

Not perfect, but getting there...Finally managed to test the app for the first time at Wakefield Park. I can confirm now that the app is accurate to the nearest second. The diagram (graph) showed up a bit rough, but most are quite similar to the actual circuit. What it needs is a real and faster GPS. I wish Apple will make the iPhone's Bluetooth to enable connecting with a GPS receiver. I can now confirm a few problems with the app: 1. The G-Force meter does not want to finish calibrate at all, only the first 2 can automatically be calibrated, the last 2 can't unless forced. 2. When lap timer is running, it picks up POI from different tracks, even though the default/main track has been set. 3. The app crashes intermittently. I think this happened after prolonged use. 4. The map was never drawn/plotted..Version: 0

UndecidedI'm still hopeful that I can get this to work well. G's are useless to me as I am on a bike. I used google maps to get Lat Longs and preload Eastern Creek POIs into it. But it seemed to spike (grab points in Mt Druit). I think I need a better mounting, fully charged batteries and maybe less waypoints. It would be nice if it just worked. (I too have to force calibration.) o am guilty of not contacting "Harry" to see if I am doing something/s wrong..Version: 0

Just doesn't workBought this for Donnington yesterday. The interface is really not user friendly at all. Also it only recorded 2 laps from a whole day. First lap a 1:29 which would make me a gp rider. The second lap 9:13 which would mean I walked round. Don't know what went wrong but the interface defiantly didn't help matters. Got a better lap time from 1 for 69p that made its own GPS points as you go round..Version: 16.6.1

Please fix, no track available to loadNo track listed in the load track view.Version: 19.0.0

LaptimerNot good at all, hard to understand don't spend your money in this app you won't be happy.Version: 12.1

Not happyKeeps crashing at it's own, free leisure! Only managed to get 3 out 47 laps driven today at Donnington. Really disappointed that I wasted my money!!!.Version: 12.1

Barely ever worksHad this along time. used to work well but now seems to never work. interface is very confusing and hard to achieve the given task. starting the timer is temperamental. seems to often not run or otherwise incorrectly start or end the lap. the last 4 track days i have not been able to record a single lap time that i think was realistic dependable data..Version: 24.5

Useless without instructionsThis MAY be a powerful app, but it is difficult to tell because there are no instructions on how to use it. The website shows some neat screenshots, but I have no idea how they were achieved. While I do get some instant data I can't figure out how to get the track mapping and lap timing shown on the website. The stilted English doesn't help. I tried using it in my racecar once and only got wrong data. I know my MG Midget doesn't go 212 MPH as much as might want it to! I also could not figure out how to keep it running for any meaningful length of time, as another review noted. And why must I agree to the license EVERY TIME I launch the app? I wish I could either get my 4.99 back or get some instructions that might unlock all the secrets that are hiding in this app..Version: 0

Absolute waste of moneyThis app does not work at all it is a complete waste of money DO NOT BUY.Version: 24.0

IfizzleJust tried the laptimer and found it pretty usless.the lap times if correct would have me not doing track days ,but have me a fulltime professional rider.....i dont think it accurate at all.also found it hard to stand in the middle of the track so the timer could get its START/GO stop POI! Great idea but needs some work.Version: 0

Total waste of moneyBought at the last minute for a track day. Might work ok in a car but certainly not on a motorcycle as this doesn't work from inside a pocket..Version: 21.0.6

Track testRecently used this program at the track. The g meter won't calibrate and the plotted course with overlayed g forces was very innacurate. The time for each lap seemed fairly good when compared to racechrono (nokia series 60 gps laptimer) with a 5hz gps. Version 5.4 definately did a better job. Course plot was good, g force overlay still meaningless. Although this is the cheapest of it's kind it doesn't provide what it advertises. Don't expect more than a time from this program and sometimes I didn't even get that..Version: 0

Waste of moneyI bought the rookie version to use on a Castle Combe track day and I only managed to get one lap to time though I set up the app to time each session. As has been said by others, the interface is not user friendly or intuitive . I ended up downloading and using a free app that my friend was using and it was totally reliable and captured every lap. Save your money, there seem to be better apps out there for free..Version: 21.2.0

Terrible interface. It won’t work when you need itCons: - laps/race don’t start automatically. Nor is it obvious how to turn the race on. You have to go to the Race section, set up a driver, then the car, and then figure that the app will be waiting until you drive off. Extremely unintuitive. - finding your results is impossible. You have to go to the Analysis -> Lap Times, and locate a green dop next to the time (which indicates it’s you 🤦🏼‍♂️) - it gets worse, each time you go out for a new session, the Race needs to be manually triggered by setting the previous run as reference. - but what is the worst is the deception that a new session is recoding and working. You think you have triggered a new session and have put your phone away. Only to return to the pit to realize that app has silently produced some hidden alerts after you’ve triggered the new session and put the phone away! IMO this defeats the whole purpose. Pros: - when it does work the stats are well presented In summary, out of 5 sessions, I was only able to record 1. Terrible. Save your money..Version: 24.0

Not worth itIt is easy to turn off auto lock so that really isn't an issue, however this is a terrible app. There are no instructions and simply trying to figure out how to set up a track is hard. Calibrating is a nightmare. It's really no more useful than a stopwatch... If you want a decent lap timer and data buy a traqmate..Version: 0

RubbishRead that it’s great, downloaded and and tried to run. With high expectations. It’s a complicated mess, you can select a track, but then there is no “start” button or anything to even start a track session. Trying to get a refund, but that option is not available for this app!! Would not recommend..Version: 22.1.4

Not user friendlyI have found this app almost impossible to use, and very counter-intuitive to get started. Even when I thought I had worked out how to use it, at the end of my track laps there was no data to be found. It would benefit from a redesign to make it much simpler for new users to get started.Version: 22.1.2

Fussy and frustratingSet up the timmer as per the instructions including mounting the iPhone. Tried to use it a Eastern Creek and it was a complete waste of time. It wouldn't or couldn't track the individual lap times and certainly is not as user friendly as race chrono - I ended up giving it up and using the other app. Needs the track to be listed and splits per set so you focus on the track not trying to get it to work. Also think it is the internal GPS that is a limiter on how the app performs. 1 out of 10.Version: 0

IPhone GPS is not good enoughThe app is very nice but the iPhone's GPS gets lost easily in corners; my track maps look like spaghetti once I get into the corners. Too bad, because the app appears to have been well designed and implemented..Version: 0
