✓ Yet to make it work properlyI must be the idiot in the room, because I've yet to get this app to record a single clean lap. I've tried it 5 times now at Infineon, Pacific Raceway, and The Ridge and it fails every time. Before each event, I spend about 30 min refreshing myself on the instructions, installing any updates, and trying to figure out what caused the previous failure. After each event, I come back to find zero laps recorded, or sometimes a few ridiculously fast laps on the order of a few seconds. I find the interface extremely clunky. I get lost in the sub menus, and there doesn't seem to be any indication when it's set up properly and ready to go. For instruction, I mainly resort to online tutorials, or wander around the pits trying to find and get advice from other users. I get many different walkthroughs, none of which seem to work. At this point, I've decided to throw in the towel, and delete the app. I wish I would have tried the cheaper version first before wasting more money on this one. If you're the multi-tasking type that is capable of messing with their phone as they race, then this might work fine for you, but the claim that you can set it and forget it has been totally false in my experience..Version: 15.0.3

✓ UnreliableThis app never works at the track when it's time to go. I had such high hopes for iphone data logging. This app has been one of the most disappointing components of the entire process. ✓ Promises, does not deliverPromises camera integration with video overlay. Purchased it for this reason only. Does not control GoPro without purchase of "Gran Prix" Add-on. Bought the Add-on. Does not control GoPro (albeit now saying it does), and does not create the video overlay with the GoPro. I just wasted fifty bucks on an application I'm never going to use because it does not do what it advertises to do. Plus, "Not eligible for a refund"... Awesome! Not....Version: 20.0.14

✓ OkI tried this at Broadford (Victoria) didnt work at all....showed laptimes varying form over 4 minutes to 30 seconds!!!! Would need to use with an external gps unit I think..will try at Phillip Island in AUgust hope it works better there..Version: 13.4

✓ Marginally UsefulI had high hopes for this program and after playing around with in in the car on city streets I was ready to give it a go. Taking the laptimer out onto the track I quickly started to find a flaw not with the software but with the ability to track sate-lights fast enough to be useful. Beyond iphone limitations the software gives very little analysis and exported files are all but useless on a mac which can only utilize the google earth files (again interesting but not helpful). I will continue to use the program for the one feature which seems to work consistently and thats tracking lap times (thats it, just the time of the lap). Everything else is seriously lacking, for example my last lap for the day: purported 63 miles on a 2 mile course, averaged speed of 146 mph with a max speed of 110 and a 5180 ft elevation change (thats about 1 mile vertical over a 2 mile course). The phone was set with an unobstructed view of the sky and mounted on the seat behind the driver and the error seems to be with ghost points or skipped points, perhaps later software developments can overcome the limits of the phone, but I have my doubts. So.. if you need an accurate laptimer this will work, but if you need something more... your going to have to look outside the ap store..Version: 13.4
✓ Conditionally not workingYeah. Nothing works at Thunderhill here in Northern California. I Requested my money back and no response. Can’t even review how good it works if it doesn’t even record where I am. Checked all setting for gps and location but nothing worked. I’ll invest in a Garmin or something real..Version: 24.6
✓ Powerful but utterly confusing interfaceI setup video recording and proceeded to do laps in a cup car this weekend, with all indications that video was recording, and perhaps due to a wrong keypress the video did not save. It did capture lap times and other data. The last thing you need in the seat is to wonder what is the app doing. Needs a printed manual..Version: 23.0.0
✓ DisappointingI had high expectations for this but ended up uninstalling it. The user interface is poor. The auto start function is not reliable, and it is not an easy product to use. I installed it on my iPhone and a friend has it on his samsung. He also finds it difficult to use. It seems to do weird things, including not recording full track sessions, and not giving individual lap times. Why, I do not know..Version: 18.1.0
✓ Not accurateSo I did a track day at Thunderhill and while I wasn’t expecting to break any track records, I was expecting accurate information. It measured my top speed on average 7mph slower than my car instrumentation. I compared to what my GoPro was filming, it was timing my laps over 8 seconds on average slower. I can’t explain how disappointed I was. I guess you get what you pay for. Buyer beware that if you want accurate information, this is not the app for you..Version: 21.2.0
✓ Doesn’t work anymoreCan get the track loaded and select drive and no data is recorded. Really bummed because I loved using the app in the past and it always worked great. Tried deleting and redownloading but it still would not record any lap data..Version: 24.0
✓ Worst UI of Track Timers AvailableHonestly disappointed to see this many users accepting such a subpar product. The user interface is viscously difficult to navigate, and missing key ‘ease of use’ that you would expect with a track tool. Overall, between lost sessions & general frustration with the UI, spend your time/$$ investing in other more reliable timers such as RaceChrono or TrackAddict from HPtuners. There are too many other aspects that require attention on race days to get this fed up with what should be an easy to use app..Version: 23.0.6
✓ Worst interface everThe most irritating thing is that this seems to be the best app for this sort of thing. The user interface is some sick, cruel joke. The app locks up from time to time. The list of tracks truncated the useful information (Buttonwillow clockwise vs counter clockwise). The settings are impossible to understand. The problem is, if you can get it set up and working the results are brilliant. The overlay of the track map, accelerometer and speed over video are great. Unfortunately, you can't hit a button to automatically overlay ever lap, you have to manually go through and overlay each one. Adding insult to injury, the overlay settings are reset every time you go in to overlay, so you have to remember every time to reset the lead in and out to zero and disable that stupid count-down thing. Trying to load maps is an excercise in frustration. First of all, I'm usually near a track when I want to load it, why not show me the nearby tracks? When tracks nearby have variants, the most important part of the track name is the part that differs (for Thunderhill, is this with the bypass or without? For Buttonwillow, is this clockwise or counter clockwise?). The track list shows the names and truncates the interesting bits. Tapping on the track usually results in loading the details page instead of loading the track..Version: 17.0.6
✓ Barely ever worksTimer barely ever works properly and video is equally bad or worse. on three attempts it says i have recoded video yet the play back function doesnt work. very frustrating when i have now missed recording three full events. such a shame as used to be good 10yrs ago..Version: 24.5
✓ IT nerds onlyAbsolutely waste of money. Nothing syncs. No useful tutorials. 74 page PDF that makes no sense. You need an engineering degree to get this to work with a simple GoPro..Version: 24.0
✓ Not worth a pinch of ****If i could give this app zero stars, that would still overrate it. it failed repeatedly during today’s track session. finally gave up and put my phone away. there’s &20 totally wasted. hopefully this will keep other drivers from wasting their money on this worthless app..Version: 23.0.11
✓ Use To Be Good Updates Don’t WorkThis app use to be pretty good but now they have not kept up with new phone operating systems and seems like this app has run its course. I just did an event at Sebring and none of the data works. The lap anylasis screen freezes up and forget about seeing your video or overlaying data. None of this works anymore!!! On Harry’s Laptimer Facebook page all these screen lock up freezing issues are noted but it’s also mentioned there is no fix. They mention a work around but that really doesn’t work due to screen freezing and app completely locking up. Beware do not waste your money or time with this app..Version: 24.5
✓ Promises so much...But the delivery is disappointing. The usability is baffling, it's only recorded a few laps and has done with no video, some with no telemetry etc. Can I recommend Harry's Laptimer Simple and Reliable edition?.Version: 20.0.0
✓ Works occasionallyThe lap timer works sub-optimally. When it works it's very accurate against my other dedicated GPS devices. But I was at Cadwell Park recently and it recorded half my sessions and yest didn't record any at Pemvrey. Maybe user error, but hard to see that. I think there are better more reliable free lap timer apps out there..Version: 19.0.22
