✓ BasicThis dictionary app is very basic and limited in scope of words, which defeats the whole point of a dictionary. I want to know the meaning of words that are new to me, not common everyday words. It would also be nice to have a history of the origins of the words. ✓ Puritan CorrectIn considering any dictionary I check some obscene word to judge its level of honesty. What came up on the first word I input was a long, downright hysterical and embarrassingly self-righteous tirade about the mere existence of the word, going so far as to state that absolutely no one should consider using the word in any situation, ever, and that it is justifiably and rightly forbidden. That was the word, folks, Forbidden. Welcome to Orwell Land. The uptight school marm puritanism of much political correctness gives all progressive thought a bad rap. I’m sure the editors of this app think of themselves as progressive, but they’re actually regressive to the point of being downright victorian. Only a totalitarian mindset could come up with the “definition” I found in my query word, and not wanting to encourage anything totalitarian I definitely do not recommend this app..DavidPabianVersion: 2.1

✓ Just a slight problemSince the latest update iOS 13.0, the previous word isn’t being cleared away. Usually when you close the app down and open it back up for another word search- the previous word has gone and is clear to type the new word in. Lately the old word is still there. Please fix. ✓ It's not English!I got this to help my kids with their spellings and the first two words I looked at were 'jewellery' & 'marvellous'. In both cases these words were shown as being the American spellings where the (incorrect) 'jewelry' & 'marvelous' were shown as the English versions. I'm afraid a dictionary that you can't trust isn't very good at all. It's a shame actually because I love the usability and presentation enormously!.Titus AdduxasVersion: 0

✓ Definition of irony = sarcasm?Nice app and free. The 3 star rating is because my first "test" of the app was to see how it defined "irony" as opposed to "sarcasm". ✓ Archaic, misogynistic, outdated.Sometimes racist, outdated, and misogynistic definitions and sentence examples. After using for a few years I am done. My suggestion on fixing one of the definitions was responded to quickly but no change was ever made. If there is no improvements then this dictionary app has now become archaic to me. Oxford English Dictionary app would’ve been better all along. Go with your instinct and the obvious dictionary to use. OED is well respected and renowned..MsKTMvalleyVersion: 4.0
