(v.2)TIP!! --> For better playing I recommend you put your phone down in your all or on a table as you can then use all/more fingers to play. ________________________________ I've had this for less than 2hrs, that how long it took to get used to it! Now I can play the kit really easily and get really into the music, getting the hang of the layout was easy, especially if you play to a song you can play well on your actual kit, this helps as then you can focus on mastering your 'finger technique rather than what beats to play, etc. Much better than rival apps; the lag is only minuet, especially in comparison with other apps! For better playing I think it would be great if you could move the pieces around to a position that suits you. Also I think it could be a nice touch if you could record your session (perhaps share it with friends- eg, Facebook or a Drum! Website for users?). I think a dance and deep kit would be good to add to the current three kits available..Version: 0
✓ You can't beat it, actually now you can!This is simply the best drumming app I've seen and heard. I picked this up on holiday and was soon passing my iphone around my mates down the pub who wanted a go - tapping our own additional riffs along to the juke box. Although I really like the way you can over dub any track on your ipod, or just mess abut making your own beats. Beats tapping your feet and fingers! Money well spent..Version: 0
✓ Simply unbelievable...This app is simply so outstanding that this is the first review I've ever done in years of using apps... Brilliant fun. My only suggested improvements (as a drummer) would be 1. Instead of a double kick-drum, include a kit with hi-hats on both sides for 16th beats with thumbs (think Orange Crush by REM), 2. a slider in the song list to skip through songs faster (think Fix You by Coldplay - great drumming, but only comes in near the end, and 3. Can you make the snare do a short roll if you press it but don't lift your finger? (think We Should Be Together by Powderfinger). But still, brilliant app....Version: 2.2.1
✓ Update soon?Ok this, igog, and ratatat are the best drum apps it seems right now. But they can get better and they need to or they won't remain relevant. The igog samples blow these out of the water but I love they layout of drums! And these samples are pretty good. Ratatat has the nice ability to move drums around and resize as well. I'd say this is my go to drum app tho as it feels really good overall. This next update I recommend at least one more kit, all new samples, maybe try to get the Thomas haake samples from drum kit from hell? Also, a record and export would be perfect for musicians and a metronome..Version: 2.2.1

✓ Thanks for the great update.I'm really glad about the return of the old vdrummer rimshot feature. Also the drum kits are more accurately represented by their titles this time around. The new colours are very nice and looks like you worked hard on them. The sound is great but the bell on the ride volume is a tad low on only the groove set. The other kits/cymbals are fine. Little bit of muffling when first starting up the kit especially when the ride and snare are played simultaneously, but that goes away after a warm up. (hit the ride and snare repeatedly until it sounds crisp). You can tell this was programmed by a drummer, unlike other apps in which the positions of the drums are realistic but impractical. This feels natural if you're an actual drummer. Well worth the money. Thanks again for the update!.Version: 0

✓ Best drumming app out thereI purchased at least 8 to 10 apps before finding this one. I actually used it at rehearsal last week and while the guys in the band thought it was a joke me turning up with just my iPad with no kit as such, they were truly amazed with the accuracy sound quality and layout. Would love to be able to connect a pedal as a kick drum to finish off the set up. I did a full 3hr rehearsal using just my iPad and the only request I have is to be able automatically adjust the volume of each instrument. Hihats are crisp and tight, kick drum is full, deep, rounded and punchy, toms good and cymbals crisp and clear. Bring on the 2.1 update. Great app guys.Version: 0

Perhaps the physics aren't as realistic as the 'drum kit 3D' app but the sounds and layouts of the kit are 10 times better! The only downside to the app are it's extras, no recording, only 3 kits! Especially appreciate the hihat open and close sounds, and can really get some quick hihat grooves going. Also love the large and well laid out kit display. ✓ Great app.This is a must have app. I could play for hours, especially with the built in music player. There are two things I would like to see improved if possible: 1. There seems to be an issue with the volume level of the drums if you hesitate for a few seconds. I noticed this when playing along with my music. This could just be a volume feature of the iOS where the music tries to take the foreground and the first drum tap is quiet and then picks up the volume again. 2. I would like to be able to turn the drums up more without the music volume increasing as well. Maybe even turn the music down without the drums volume level decreasing. This app is awesome for quick recording and idea "sketches" I've used it for many recordings and it works... 11 Star rating on the ergonomics. This app understands the natural way you use your hands. *Those other apps that show you a picture of a drum set (like GarageBand's version for example) are terrible. To keep an actual beat you need to play hand twister... This app the drums are set so right hand stays on the right/ left hand on left of the iPad/iPhone. *** If any of the developers/software engineers/creators/influencers of GarageBand are reading this, please read the previous paragraph a million and one times until it sinks in how you have to properly design your drum module, because compared to this one yours is sub par! *** Needs the following improvements: - Hi-Hat: could use a half open/closed hi hat feature - full open is too loud/ full close is too soft. - Toms: too loud, they are much louder than snare and transitioning from snare hits to tom hits sound off. - Cymbals: just the crash needs a little tweaking. Could use better stability for crash riding on choruses. Or, add a smaller (like a 14") thinner crash for riding purposes. Kick Drum: NEEDS TO BE LOUDER!!! - Overall App: Add some form of EQ'ing capabilities so the aforementioned can be controlled and dialed in by the end user. It has the best look, a sensible layout, its responsive and comes with a number of kits to choose from which in general, sound really solid. There is only one issue with the kit as compared to 'Rhythm Pad' app, where if you try to do a flam hit it doesn't always work. A useful additional feature could be a metronome to practice to. My favorite kit which I use daily is the Groove Kit. Overall this is a great app if you want something that looks like a drum kit. Why no floor tom guys? And 2. The ability to raise or lower the app volume. Not sure if it's possible, but keep the music and the app volumes separate. At the moment I can barely hear the drums with some songs I play. When I turn down the music, it also turns down the drums. Other than those two things, this is pretty much perfect! ✓ Best real drums mode setup ever!!!Like the title says, these guy really know how to make the best "real drums mode" for your fingers. "Drum kit" and others drum apps would be a lot more playable like this. Unfortunatly not many kits(3) and features. The sounds aren't that great (expect ride but especially bass) and it needs a lot of work to make it smoother and less laggy. The splash cymbal should be swapped with the pulldown menu button, as it is very hard to hit. Digidrummer is more smoother and has more features and sounds, but this setup is great. Current sets are amazing but I would like to mix and match some of the drums and that's not possible currently. To make it even better I would like to see the following options being considered: 1) Make the snare slightly smaller and place a second bass drum to the right (for those double bass drum moments) 2) Add the ability in the options to change the pitch of the drums and cymbals (I like a cranked snare whenever possible :)) 3) A long shot this one, but the ability to record your session and export it as a .wav file would be cool (would be awesome to be able to go round to my mates house and write some drum tracks for him on the go) 5 Stars non the less...look forward to future updates..Version: 0

✓ Realistic and Superb appAfter downloading and testing more than 10 drums apps, I have to say that Drums! is overall more realistic, and easier to use. Beautiful user interface, and easy to navigate. Love the fact that you can import your songs and play along with them. My 15 year old loved it so much I downloaded for his iPad. Now I need to close his door because he connected to the speakers and spend hours druming, I just hope he doesnt brake the iPad. ✓ Now I've got a demos drummer!If you practice and get your timing spot on, you can get a very high quality drum track that still sounds natural a it's not robotically tight. The buttons for record, saves tracks etc are slightly too small which makes for some frustration and repeating yourself however, which is my only qualm. ✓ The BEST drum app!This app has the best sounds setup for playing drums. I live in a dorm in college and I cannot have my full drum kit with me so having this on my iPhone and iPad is great because I still get to practice and when I plug them into my speaker system it sounds like I have a real drum kit with me. Very responsive, more responsive then the drums on Garage Band on the iPhone or iPad. No negatives to speak of. It would be nice to add some more drums then the 3 kits they have (which are awesome). Maybe adding some ability to change out drums and cymbals for people who want to crashes instead of a crash and a splash or have two low toms, etc... I've tried every drum app in the App store and this one blows all others out of the water. Totally worth it if you're a beginner or an experienced drummer!.Version: 2.2.1

✓ Great! 1 bad point..The whole package is great. -cheap -great kit sounds -low latency However.. Having the headphone jack on the left side makes it hard to play if you use a bigger input for say larger headphones or plugging it through aux for surround sound. A simple fix to have it the other way round if you tilt your iPod would be perfect. Other drum apps with a less impressive finish have this which makes them more playable. I would personally really love to have the ability to record (with or without a metronome) and even edit the recording afterwards. ✓ Great app for sure!The drum samples sound VERY good and there is no lag whatsoever! My one and only problem is the sounds don't "overlap" each other. Say you hit the cymbal over and over rapidly, it stops the current sound and starts the new one. Just a small issue I have. Not anything major. And I would suggest giving the option to EQ each sample on the kit so we can have it sounding just the way we want ☺️☺️. App is very nice and I don't regret purchasing it at all!.Version: 3.1.1

✓ Brilliant / Best Drumming AppI have had this app for years, and it's always been one of my 'must have apps' every phone change. I even have this on my IPad lol. It sounds far better on headphones, then any Apple device speaker. The strange thing is, I have never sat in front of a real drum kit, yet via this app, people think I am this master drummer 🤗 THE WOULD LIKE: One thing I would like to see is the option to record ALL sound, as currently the app allows you to only record yourself drumming along to music stored by Apple Music. However those of us that use music streaming services, you can start the music on the streaming app, then change to this app and play along......which is great, BUT, your session cannot be recorded in the app. I would love the devs forever, and build statues in their honour if they would allow either a mixer that shows the volume controls to each open app, or just allow the recording of what's heard out of the device (phone or pad) speaker....Version: 3.1.2

✓ So Worth The Money!After looking at all the drum apps out there(there are lots to choose from), I saw that vDrummer had just come out. After watching the videos on their website, it sounded like the most realistic drum sounds available for the iphone. I'm sure glad I bought this! You can also watch tutorial podcast videos showing you how to drum and keep the beat. The videos that are up now are very helpful and to the point. I thought I was going to have to get out my metronome to practice, but you can also download tracks from the website that have different beats per minute; and you can drum along to them. You can also drum along to music in your iTunes library. Since Garageband does not come with drum loops that are in 3/4 or 6/8, I hooked up my iPhone to my Duet Apogee interface and recorded the drums to my music that had those time signatures! Other applications have more kits to chose from(this one only has 3 at the moment), but I'd rather have 3 great sounding kits than lots of mediocre Midi-sounding kits. For more fun, hook your phone into an external speaker to drum along with friends jamming. As I said earlier, so worth the money!.Version: 0

Want more flexibility in set up, bought as a supplement to learning drums, but am frustrated I can't set it up how any of the drum sets at any of the practice spaces I use do. I worry it will teach me bad habits. Also since if is so hollow sounding it would be nice to see/ read exactly what drums are being represented. There are a lot of features I would rather have than different styled drum sets, like play along, or exercises. There is an opportunity to teach or build skills that is wasted. ✓ Loving 3.0 UpdateIt's about time! Nearly 2 years since they last updated Drums! I had this app for a long time, even when it used to be called vDrummer. Best drumming app I've ever used! I also love the new features that they've put into the app along with iPhone 5 capabilities (with the larger screen) as well as the new kits. I haven't been able to use a lot of the new features until I discovered that putting Airplane mode on while using the app will let you use the new features. This is until Cinnamon Jelly puts out a bug fix, which they're now completely aware of. Just In-App purchases crashing, that's all. Should be fixed soon.
