Packing Pro for Negative User Reviews

Not workingThe expert help doesn't work besides the number of people. Please fix in the next update thanks..Version: 0

Don't bother.Save your money. I have not found this app to be user friendly at all. Great concept, but it has too many issues at this stage. I emailed the developers a week ago expressing these concerns and I've yet to receive a reply..Version: 10.2

Useful but a bit flakeyPretty good functionality in this app, which I use regularly and have owned for several years. Good points include the ability to create a master catalogue and select items from the catalogue to make many individual lists. Bad points are mainly to do with iCloud sync which has never worked reliably, and seems especially bad in the latest version. Overall, I'd recommend it but back up your data and beware of the sync problems..Version: 10.2

Understand why no trial versionIt’s horrible. Complete waste of money. Definitely not intuitive. Tried to figure it out from the support site. The most understandable feature was how to leave them more money. Don’t bother..Version: 12.4

Still so soThe problem with this app isn't that its intentions are good. It sets out to be a truly comprehensive packing app, and buried in there is just about everything you could want to pack, and a complete system for doing so. The problem with it is that the basic user interface design is cumbersome and confusing, quite ugly to look at, and overly complex to learn, as demonstrated by the LONG help section. This makes it quite frustrating to use. There's a really GREAT app waiting to get out here, but it's not there yet. I've looked at just about every list or packing list out there and haven't found one that really does it in a simple, intuitive way. And to me 'intuitive' is key to just about all great apps and software - a little bit of education about the way it approaches things, and you're away. If I was going on a major trip and could be bothered setting all of this up, it would be truly useful. But for regular use it's just too byzantine. Please IMPROVE and I'll be back here praising it to the skies: get a good graphic designer, simplify the interface dramatically, offer web backup (would be ideal...). I should add I'm not saying to anyone else to avoid it - it is useful; just be prepared to put in a fair bit of work and put up with a bit of frustration along the way..Version: 0

Useful application - responsive developer - highly recommendedThis is the most useful packing list application I have found. The capacity to modify categories and types is really useful and the pro version allows different display options. I contacted the developer with some questions about this app and received a very helpful response within a short time..Version: 0

Overly complicatedNobody wants to read the instructions when it comes to an app for packing! They just want it to be intuitive and straightforward. This is neither and after 45 mins of trying to build a list for an overseas trip I gave up. There may be others who have a lot more patience than I do but they shouldn’t have to. This is an app with options for building a packing list, yet it forgets that consumers are not impressed with all the possibilities that come at the expense of complicating the basics. And the design aesthetics are also unwieldy. Do yourself a favor and unless you’re desperate for something to do avoid this mess of an app..Version: 13.4

Too complicated, useless user interface...I gave this a good shot after buying it, but ultimately got a refund. It's just far too complicated, too cluttered and too frustrating to use. It's also far too Americanised (pants instead of trousers for example) for us European users. It has the basis of a good app but needs to be simplified (take a look at PACK THIS for inspiration) and decluttered..Version: 13.0

Annoyed!Love the app, have a trip in a couple weeks and now with this update it won't get past the installing stage and is a greyed out annoyance on my iphone..Version: 7.2

Too BloatedHammerz hit the nail on the head.... I spent half an hour just editing the lists, the 3 stage master list is annoying, who needs menu after sub menu after sub menu simply to find clothes? I just want a simple app that i can fly through! So even though this app is very flexible it is simply too bloated and cubersome to use quickly. I recommend "Packing List" as a faster, cleaner, cheaper alternative that you can fly through. My motto is if it's quicker to use pen and paper then the app is useless. Apps like Shopper and Packing List are faster than paper, so that's the bench mark..Version: 0

Useful. Ugly. Arrogant? This app can be useful, but it’s aesthetically challenged to the point of distraction. What’s worse, the developer has been completely unresponsive to polite suggestions on how it could easily be improved. Example (one among many): A million years ago, it seems, it was pointed out that the home-brewed color-picker the app uses is effectively useless, and that incorporating one that conforms to Apple’s design guidelines would be a huge improvement. The developer gave some lame excuse about being too busy, and that besides, arrogantly, that the picker in the app was fine. It wasn’t, and still isn’t. It’s a clumsy mess. People do get busy, but that was many years ago, and pre-pandemic, by far: there’s been plenty of time to just look up the guidelines and make a simple refinement. Looking at the app today, I see it’s the same as it was when it was first released. No effort. Embarrassing..Version: 13.5

Not useful.Overly complicated and specific. Not well thought out. The two things I have forgotten the most often on my travels (over a 100,000 miles/year) are not among the hundreds of items on any of the lists: 2) a dress belt and 2) to notify my credit cards I was leaving the country. I suppose you could add them as separate, unique items but I would’ve thought that these two very common items would’ve already been available. You can’t just add socks: you have to pick from among nine different kinds of socks. If you try and add socks as a separate item, you’re simply told socks is already an available category and you have to pick from it..Version: 13.0

Over complicated, non-intuitive, uselessI used to travel internationally on business. I managed 270 nights away from home at the peak of my travelling and I still travel up to 3 months a year, though now it's all social or tourism. Over my 30 years of serious travel I've developed a faultless packing list which I print out on a single sheet of A4. However, since getting hooked on the iPhone/iPad platform I've transferred a lot of my planning onto Apps - so I decided to have a look at Packing Pro. I chose it because it has the highest rating of packing apps in the store. Where do the 10 rave reviews come from? After a lot of typing I managed to set up a clothes category. I failed to set up a second category despite looking through the complex info pages. Packing lists need to be simple to use, flexible and easy to amend. This App is literally a waste of time. I never found out how to use it for an actual pack because I failed to create a finished list. If you are struggling with packing create your own list in XL, print it out onto paper and use a pencil! Faster and clearer. And save the £1.99 for a coffee at the airport..Version: 8.3

Too complicatedI work in a skilled business yet this app beats me. I have tried creating two different lists, starting in different ways, but still I can't figure it out. The instructions are more complicated than the app! I don't know where the positive reviews are coming from but I should've listened to the honest one from Apr '13 saying how complex this app was. It gets two stars for the nice layout and for things like pre-trip but I think I'll stick to paper in future. 📝.Version: 9.0

Won't uploadNew version won't upload on my iPad 3 I did like like the old version though..Version: 8.1

Good but still a bit lumpy to useIt would be so nice to just go to the master list and check the items rather than going back and forth for every item. that being said, this app is pretty useful..Version: 0
