✓ Brilliant- really useful!I’d happily recommend this app: it proved invaluable in Venice. Just download the offline map before you go and it’s all ready to work. We set where our hotel was as a fixed point, and boy, did we need it in the maze of alleys and bridges! Only once did the map not come up - I don’t know why but we were in an almost claustrophobic area of lanes and alleys at the time if that had anything to do with it and we only had the cursor blinking in the middle of a blank page for a while. But otherwise it worked perfectly. Next time we go away, I’ll definitely be checking if there is a map for there. Well done..Version: 19.17

✓ A life saverUsually don't rate apps but after a trip to Europe using this offline maps, I can asure you, this app will make your trip easier and you won't miss any important spot in the city. I used London, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Venice, Rome, Florence, Barcelona, Madrid and Lisbon! In Budapest I felt lost because they don't have a map for this city but Google also doesn't have a map for Budapest offline. I'll put 6 stars but I can't so 5 it's the closest. One more thing, all this is for FREE! And this is not all, also you can download the information about the historic places in the city and then you can get the info offline. ✓ Useful offline GPS maps in side alleys and aboard vaporettos of VeniceWe used this app to get around in Venice on a recent weekend trip. We found the off line map with GPS to be very useful -- especially in Venice because you can get turned around so easily in the small winding side alleys. Even though it doesn't calculate turns from point A to B, we were easily able to find the shortest way to get from place to place when we were walking and we used it when we were on the vaporetto (boat-bus) to see where the lines went. The vaporetto lines could have been less faint on the maps -- it was sometimes hard to see where each line went, but once we were aboard, we used the app to see where we were and which direction we were going! On our last day, there was a vaporetto strike and we used the GPS map to guide our walk to Piazzale Roma before dawn to catch an airport bus out of town. This app made our trip more enjoyable and I would recommend it..Version: 5.1.1

✓ You won't believe it unless you try it!Just returned from a four day trip around Venice, I downloaded the free (yes free) version of the app, arrived in Venice and used the app to guide us to the hotel. Thinking the app would be way off from where we actually needed to be, we follows the app even taking the underpass, as indicated by the app, we got there with no problems. Day 2, marked the hotel on the map and saved as a favourite, so we could find our way back. Took the bus into Venice centre and again saved the location as a favourite, (so we knew where to head back to). We used the app over the next few days, to travel around Venice getting to see all the places we wanted, each time asking the app to get us back to the bus stop, and then watching the app to show when we where nearly at the hotel bus stop. I don't usually rate apps but this was a real gem, even the wife was impressed. I believe the paid version has an option to plan routes, but we like to kind of get lost, then work our way back, but with this app we where so much happier, knowing we where not lost for to long. ✓ Long Weekend in VeniceWe've just got back from a great long weekend in Venice and this app was indespensible to get around. There is no rhyme or reason to how Venice is laid out which makes it so unique but on your travels you'll see many people just wandering the streets with maps. This app allows you the freedom to wander then just open it up (with data roaming turned off of course) and immediately and accurately locate yourself via gps every time to keep yourself on track. Download the Venice information content to your phone beforehand (don't wait till you get there as complimentary WIFI is not good for downloading 13MB+ files) and you're all set. Ads are kept to a minimum and it's very easy to use and navigate. Will definately use Ulmon for future travels.Version: 8.3.1

✓ Would be lost without itThis was one of the best and most useful apps I have ever used. I did not want to carry one of those huge bulky maps in Venice so decided to use the offline map for my trip. This thing was my bible, it shows direction of traffic so you know if your going the right way, has great suggestions for places to see and eat, and has a map of the metro. The offline function still is able to triangulate your location and direction you are facing and walking so it is impossible to get lost with this app. Best part about it is if you set a marker on the map, even without gps you can easily see how you are walking to the set marker. I can only imagine that this app would be even more amazing if I decided to use it online. Really can't imagine it getting better then this app, not one thing I would change about it..Version: 8.3.1

✓ IPad and VeniceMy wife and I were recently in Venice and brought our ipad and iphone. I had a number of Venice apps installed including the Ulmon Venice app. Venice is a maze. It is very easy to get turned around and lost. Paper maps are ok but this app was just wonderful in that it can pinpoint where you are on the map. Try that with a paper map. I kept the ipad (2) in my pack sack and left the app running. When we were a little lost, I'd pull it out and it had our location, even the direction we were pointing! In the narrow canyons of streets in Venice, many only a few feet wide, this was really surprising and very welcome. Using this app we didn't have to follow the marked paths to tourist sites that were crowded with, wait for it, tourists. We took any path that looked interesting, and less crowded to get to our destination. Also the fact that it works offline is really great. I had the app on my iphone (4) as well but it couldn't find our location in offline mode. This could be an operator error though. The only feature I would like to have had in the app would be a suggested path to your destination function. Already downloaded the Paris app for our upcoming trip..Version: 5.3
