✓ About to cancel my premium and delete the appBeen using Pixiv for a while now and enjoyed it enough that I decided to pay for premium. Before, you would get a pop up at the bottom only once in a while in an unobtrusive way, now it does it every time you interact with content and it makes the app unusable. The content you're trying to see gets instantly half covered up, and it's completely redundant because if you like what you see, you scroll down for more anyway. I'm a bit more mixed about the removal of recommended content when you like something loading in immediately underneath it. It was a little _too_ addicting. But the pop up panel is a frustrating, superfluous obstruction and needs to be removed..Version: 7.15.5

✓ Download at your own riskThis app can be useful to find artist support, artist that you were already following or see new art that could interest you, but the tags that are allowed in created in this app is disgusting, the stuff that is allowed in this app to be described as immoral and disgusting to any one with any regard for animals and children, this app opens up a gateway to a very dangerous group of people, and do not need to be allowed to see this type of art see this type of art created, the artists are good. The community is somewhat OK, but the things that you can accidentally slept too, because he clicked on a general category were some creep who made something in that category is disgusting, that side as he can only block one thing at max, if he say to categories of disgust, you, you have to have a decision to see which one you want to block unless you pay to block more, so please, if you know how to manage disgusting art here and are generally interested in supporting your favorite artist, download this app it’s very useful. ✓ Decent but needs work/fixesUsing the app for a week now, overall a decent mobile app version of pixiv which I feel runs a lot smoother than using pixiv on a mobile browser. However there are several things that need to be introduced and problems need to be fixed to consider it above 2* - Need ability to download animated images - Problem where I always need to click ‘save image’ several times before it actually saves into my Iphone gallery (very annoying!) Also needs a pop up notif to show the image has saved into my gallery so I don’t have to leave app manually to check myself. - No way (as far as I can tell) to filter R18 (NSFW) images. The R18 images also don’t have the red mark on the images to show they are R18 whereas using pixiv on mobile browser does. The red R18 mark is very helpful and needed. - If I type an english term in the search bar on browser it will bring up the Japanese tag with the english written underneath but for some reason on this app, if I type an english term in the search bar it will bring up the Japanese tag but not have what it means in english underneath which can get confusing. - Mute setting is also different (worse) compared to muting on mobile browser. On mobile browser if I mute ‘swim’ it will hide any image that is tagged ‘swim’ but also hide any tag with ‘swim’ in it like ‘swimsuit’, ‘swimming’, ‘swimming pool’ etc. But on this app muting ‘swim’ will only hide images tagged specifically with ‘swim’ and nothing else so images tagged ‘swimming’ etc. will still show up. Muting needs to be like the browser version as its much better (or give us a choice) Hopefully these features are updated soon and it will easily be a 5* app for me!.Version: 7.6.1
✓ Great layout!... trouble searchingI heard this app was good for any artists and writers out there, so I downloaded it to give it a try. I love the layout and I appreciate that the app is for illustrations, manga or comics, AND writing. However, it’s hard to look up users. ✓ I suggest not to use this app.I’ve used this app for about 3 weeks and I can say affirmatively say I don’t like this app, one because almost every thing is lock behind “pixiv premium” and there is some really messed up artwork. Here’s one of my problems, if there is a tag with artwork you don’t want to see you can only block that one tag, if you want to block more tags you need a “premium” account. And all around I hate this app and I have been disgusted by some of the crap I’ve seen on this app. Honestly I suggest that you don’t use this app, personally I deleted my account and have deleted the app on my phone..Version: 7.16.4

✓ Pixiv needs an iPad updatePixiv is a good website for Japanese art, but unfortunately the iOS experience on iPad is rather disappointing. Images aren’t displayed in full resolution, they’re almost thumbnail-level quality, which makes for a very blurry and pixelated experience. ✓ Meh.The viewer portion of this app is absolutely wonderful, you can see all kinds of different fanarts and even original characters people have created. However, as an artist, and as someone that would like to let there work be seen. There just isn’t enough ways to let your stuff be seen. I’ve posted several things and after months they still only had maybe 25 people see it. I feel like this is a major downfall, unless this were to change when you buy the premium portion of this. ✓ Could be much better.There's several very important things that need to be implemented which can't even allow me to consider more than one star. A shame really, since there are so many good artworks. • This app needs landscape mode! This is the most infuriating thing of all. Pictures are 99% of the time landscape, so you can only view the picture with huge white borders at the top and bottom. You can't turn the screen around so you're stuck with zooming in and having to drag around the picture. • Copying the text is disabled. Want to use Google Translate to read the Japanese? Well, you can't because you can't copy the text. • Pixiv links don't open in the app. This means that I have to open the link in Safari, login to my account because you can't view certain pictures without logging in, then find the name of the artwork which often involves manual typing since you can't copy, then search for that artwork in the Pixiv app. • Do you want to save the picture to your dropbox, or on Airdrop? Well you can't because you can't share the image. You have to download the image to your phone, and then share it in the photos app because if you try to share it in the app you only get a link to the picture, which you can't even open because Pixiv links don't open in the app! • You can't download animated images (ugoira). When you try, it just downloads a still instead. This is just infuriating. You need to implement these features. Just hopes that this gets out there..Version: 7.3.7

There is a filtering option available, but it is easily disabled. If you yourself use it for this content (I won't judge!), be aware that this app is Japan-based, and they have no laws against artistic depictions of children in sexual situations, and such content IS ACCESSIBLE AND PREVALENT on this app and its base site. Most states in the US have very strict laws against such content, even those depicting fictional characters, and having such content on your phone or computer can be a huge legal risk..Version: 7.1.13

✓ App is Faster but ALOT less functional.So comparing the app to the mobile web version, the only thing I can really say that the app has an edge on is how quickly images load and and fast you can navigate settings/works/collections. The app for some reason doesn’t include most of the sites features. On the app you CANT; ‘like’ any posts, only bookmark them/ you cant scroll through more of a creators posts under an image without actually going to their profile/ you can’t comment or view comments on any posts/ you can’t use the messenger or even view any messages/ you can’t view your own dashboard or analytics. There’s probably more things you can’t do on the app but that’s what sticks out to me. If I just want to browse through my collection I prefer the app, but literally ANYTHING else the mobile site does better. App is really lacking..Version: 7.16.4

✓ Missing digit badge for commentsThe app works pretty well in general. Lightweight, does what it is supposed to, easy to navigate. Although it’d be nice to have “digit badges” for likes and comments. The notification takes me to the pieces that received likes or comments, but within the app there’s nothing indicating it. Also the private messenger has stopped working for about a year, I couldn’t find anywhere to report or to have that sorted. ✓ Playing favorites & lack of optimizationI've had this app for years & I've had enough. I'm keeping it around for now, but I will likely delete it soon. For viewing it works okay; however, I wouldn't recommend creators come here for a couple reasons: 1) Mods will take down your posts & suspend you with zero strikes & no further justification given beyond citing guidelines. The place is run more like 4chan than a serious art site. 2) Unless you're Japanese or make Japanese-style art you will never gain a following here, especially if you're producing SFW content. Had my account recently b& with no hope of appeal so I'm moving onto X & Deviantart. Artists can get away with posting some of the most heinous, degen art, yet it's only western artists that seem to face the wrath. ✓ Good app, scummy tactics for premiumThe app itself is serviceable. The UI could be better and there are some features missing from the web version, but it works well enough. The problem is how they push you to use premium which is a subscription for money. Certain features are “premium exclusive” which I could understand if these features weren’t basic quality of life features for most other websites. The most egregious example of this is Tag Muting. You are allowed to mute one tag at a time without premium, preventing any works with that tag from showing on your feed. The issue here is that there are many tags that are generally seen as morally disgusting available that for use, and you are only allowed to have one of these muted at a time unless you pay for premium. A great example of this would be for gore. I personally don’t like to see gore and would keep this tag muted. While I’m browsing, I come across physical abuse, for example, and wish to mute this too. I would be forced to either unmute the gore tag or pay for a subscription service..Version: 7.16.4
✓ Ipad app is too bare bones.Right now the iPad app is really barebones. On landscape everything is huge. Portrait images are displayed fitting width which doesn’t work. It only shows the images in low resolution until you are force to zoom in to download the HD version. And the implementation when holding click on the image shows two options. “Save image” and “save original image"; the first one saves the low res version no matter what and the second saves the HD one but it is extremely slow. My internet is fast so I know it's the app. It should give the option to always show HD resolution. The website works way better and the app should be the same experience or even better. ✓ Good but has restrictions that aren’t goodThere a couple that I can mention but the most noteworthy one would be the fact that you need premium to view what is essentially just a trending tab. You can’t look at the popular tab which isn’t beneficial to anyone, even the artist. If the artist makes it to the popular section most people can’t even go and check on their art which just hurts the artist more than benefit them because they’re not getting as much viewership as the likely could. The fact that you need to pay a fee to view what’s trending is just a major flaw on the app’s design and shouldn’t have been implemented in the first place, I don’t mind most of the perks of premium but this is just very unnecessary and should be something everyone has access to, not to only premium users.Version: 7.13.4

Pixiv has amazing artists, and it’s also promoted by popular franchises and artists. While you can argue this can be solved by turning off the R-18 feature, there’s a lot of obscure things for those who do want to view that stuff, things that popular x-rated sites won’t have which goes to show how obscure some of these things are. ✓ Decent, I guess.I’ve been on Pixiv for a couple months, and it’s been.. fine. I’m not going on here again, I just want to state some things. First, the child p\rn and r//pe art just freely allowed on this site is gross and it has made my experience awful. I don’t want to log on and see art that is along these lines. Even if I block, or don’t want it recommended, it still shows up. And it is highly illegal in places, which is another reason. Second, difficultly searching and looking at tags. I’m not going to talk about this too much, hence I’m not aware whether you can fix it or not. But whenever I search something up, it either just doesn’t show or shows something completely different. Third, you have to pay to see things you shouldn’t have to pay for. Like history. It’s very unnecessary and feels like a cash grab. Not all, but somewhat half of it. I enjoyed the first week or so of it, but it got bad. If you can avoid the first and or second issue, it won’t be that bad..Version: 7.13.4

✓ Log inI usually write reviews to say good things but for this app I have to complaint. Believe me, it's good once you're in but logging in is a whole odyssey. I've been trying to log in since this afternoon and all it says is: "an error has occurred", not even a "your password is wrong" or "check your I'd again" so I went and changed the password and the website did let me log in but once I tried to log in in the app the error message popped up again.
