✓ From best to worstI’ve been using this app for many years. I have lists for each store I shop and shopping lists for unique activities to keep me organized. So easy to check off items and place in cart and keep on budget. New update totally changed the app and now instead of placing items in the cart, it just draws a line through it but it’s still on the list creating clutter. Plus the font appears smaller and there’s added spacing so while I’m busy shopping I have to do MORE scrolling to confirm I purchased what I needed. I am looking for a different app now. Please return some of the old features. I’m so saddened by the changes..Version: 4.0.1
✓ Have used for years and loved but not now!I have used this app for years and loved it. Now with the new update it won't even open. It's gone from a 5 to a zero. Now I see they have made a pay version that you pay for monthly. I use this app to save money not spend more. Off to see if I can find a different app for groceries. Thanks for all the good years, I am sad that you changed and I can't use you. BTW I have an iphone 13 pro max so it's not that my phone isn't up to date. 😥.Version: 4.0.7
✓ Lousy appLousy app can’t print coupons If your life depended on it and some like dollar general and and even a Coca Cola one you have to put in your login and password for dollar general and I’m not gonna go to Walgreens just for the Coca Cola one why do I need my member number i should be able to go anywhere and redeem it especially since the coupon doesn’t specify Walgreens in the coupon ad. Just let me print the damm coupon. Also I should be able to print all of the coupons even if they have some in their for $3 and $2 off for the same item because the store will only allow one or the other, plus I don’t know which one I want to use because some are for one and the other is for 2 items off..Version: 3.4.1
✓ Complete garbageUsed and loved this app for years, and it went from absolute best to absolute worst after the latest update. Want to do something as basic as create a new list? Nope, need a premium account. Accidentally deleted a list and want to recover it? Can’t do that either, need a premium account. Want to share your list with your family to split up shopping? You guessed it, premium amount required. To top it off, one of my lists was mysteriously wiped out after the forced update with no way to recover it without being forced to pay for a premium account. Basically, if you want to be able to do anything useful with this app, you’ll be required to pay $2/month. Save your time and space, look elsewhere..Version: 4.0.2
✓ Was great not anymore.I loved this app and had been using it for 4-5 years. Then about two weeks ago I accidentally deleted a list and I asked support about getting the list back. They told me in order to get my list back I had to sign up for premium which I did not want to do. So I got frustrated finally agreed to the premium and when I downloaded it and went back into my list the list that I wanted back did not come back and they had also lost all my favorites and saved items. I just can’t believe it happened. Useless and asked for more support and did not get any answers..Version: 4.0.17
✓ Hate the new versionJust updated and don’t like it! For some reason each grocery item now takes up 2-3 times the horizontal space so instead of viewing say 8-10 items at once I can only see 5-6. They’ve just added dead white space. So I’m scrolling, scrolling, scrolling. Have used this for years and loved it but now I’ll need to find another app..Version: 4.0
✓ Latest UpdateI’ve been using this app for several years. I have no doubt that the information I provide forms data that is harvested and sold to grocery chains, brokers and manufacturers / producers. But, recently this app was redesigned and it reduced the feature set in the free version and created a pay version which still is a fairly basic feature set. The free version isn’t really free … you provide critical data which is sold to a variety of clients some of which I described above. One of the things I really didn’t appreciate in this new version was the constraint of allowing only 50 items in the history. In any case, there is nothing in this app that compels me to pay for it and, with the constraints now imposed on the free version, I don’t see myself continuing with it either. If the authors wanted to add a “killer” feature then integrate logic that compares prices I enter with prices I entered previously..Version: 4.0.6
✓ Update: Not so goodI have used this app for a very long time. My husband is also synced with me. He’ll tell me we need an item and I will say, “put it on the list.” He has learned to add things now without telling me. It’s a great app for both of us! I thought at one point we were not able to use it anymore because it wasn’t updated; I had just switched to an iPhone 12, but I had a sigh of relief when I went back into it and was working. I don’t like to be without this app..the last update was 5 yrs ago..I hope it continues to be monitored and updated since this is the best I have found. Update: this upgrade was totally trash..sorry but you have now limited the use of this app to only premium if you want to add stores or other things. It’s is now totally useless to me and my husband and we have since gone to another app called Listonic..we are able to share and do pretty much all the things we did with app. Also they have a premium that gives option for monthly, yearly or lifetime which I wouldn’t mind to do a lifetime payment…I get that the developer should warrant some kind of compensation and should add more options..sorry to see me go from this app that used to be the best...Version: 4.0.2
✓ Doesn't work, can't see some stores in my areaI was so excited about this app. But, doesn't work. Will not recognize my main supermarket, Publix. The other grocery chains that are on my area list, closed or change names years ago. Some stores not even in my area keep showing up on the list. And, I thought the app would find the best price of items on my list list. But it doesn't. Several items on my list were on sale at several stores in my are. The only thing that works is a list that is very nicely divided by sections of the store..Version: 3.4.1
✓ FIX THE APP!!!!!!!!!!!I pay the premium monthly subscription fee for this app. It frequently does not allow my list sharer to see the list. The items are often wrong and cannot be recovered. This results in incorrect grocery purchases. Today I logged out to try to fix the problem and now cannot log back in. I cannot recover my password because it says there is a server error. Meanwhile, I am paying for this app every month. Very angry..Version: 4.0.17
✓ Doesn't sync consistentlyMy husband and I have tried to use this app for two years and we are finally done. It doesn't sync correctly so items I add do not show up on his list, causing us to have to go to the grocery store multiple times for what should easily be a once a week shop. To try to get the app to sync, we both completely shut it down and relaunch it and it still does not have the same list on each of our phones. If you are hoping to use this to build a grocery list with more than one person populating the list, save yourself some frustration and time and find a different system..Version: 3.4.1
✓ Terrible update and fraudulent!This was a GREAT app! I could add additional stores and aisles, but NOW they took that away. All the aisles I’d saved are now gone, though the stores are still there, but in a different order. Now, they are charging $1.99 per month just so I can add aisles. The way you have to go about finding things is difficult and a real pain. I believe I already paid for the app, so this charging per month for what I could already do, is fraudulent. The only reason they’re doing this is for MONEY. Why don’t you just charge more for the app for newcomers, or add a new service and charge a one time charge for that? I’ll gladly give it 5*, if you let me use the app the way it used to be..Version: 4.0.2
✓ Need to tally prices during a tripMy old grocery store app is no longer available in the App Store, so I had to find a new one. This one comes close to my favorite old one, but there’s no reason to add prices for items if it’s not going to tally what you’re spending as you go. When I click off items, it should total at the bottom so that I can track how much I’m spending as I go. Just making the item disappear doesn’t really accomplish much. ✓ I usually love this app, but the newest “improvements” need a bit of helpThis is one of the most useful apps in general. I store everything from my grocery store lists, to my CVS runs, my hardware store needs, as well as online order lists. That being said, now the app is useless for my needs. Sigh! There’s just one or two changes that need to be made to make it useable again. With this newest “upgrade”, your lists of everything you ever had on a list for a store is listed. So when I look for what I need at my grocery store, it says I need almost 300 items. When I go into that list, everything I ever bought is listed, but crossed off. I am not sure if there is even anything on my current list because I would have to scroll through the 300 or so items that I chose at some point in history. Uggh! This was a good idea in general, but there need to be a few changes. Firstly, the unchecked items need to be at the top of the list; Secondly, the number of unchecked items should be the only ones counted when you look at your list of stores (so that you know if you need anything at stores at a glance). Thirdly, the list of crossed off items needs to be in a separate menu of “frequently purchased items” instead of in the main list. Please make these changes quickly, as I still don’t know what I need at the grocers! Many thanks for a great app in general..Version: 4.0
✓ ConfusingNone of the coupons have bar codes, so not sure how you actually redeem them at checkout? Also it allows you to change the amount the coupon is for as well as other aspects of the "coupon". It won't let me add more than one coupon or special to my list. I don't think it's as great an app as others portray, or I am lacking common sense..... there are more apps that are more user friendly. Don't waste your cloud space..Version: 3.4.1
✓ Recent update not greatMy husband and I have used this app for a couple of years and loved it. There was a recent update and it changed alot of the settings. It re-downloaded every item we’ve ever added to the list (over 1500) and there is not an option to delete all. Had to delete each one individually. You have to swipe to delete now instead of just tapping the item, and it also asks if you’re sure you want to delete? A lot of extra tapping which is annoying. The items are spread out more for some reason making the list look twice as long. Looking at other apps 🤷🏻♀️.Version: 4.0.1
✓ Good App, but ...I've used Grocery IQ for a long time. It is the one of the best, if not the best. Decided I wanted and new look and a bit smaller footprint. I like this app. However, it is really bad if you don't create lists and modify stores/isles on a STRONG WIFI. If you happen to be using it while on cellular (maybe while out and around town), it's horrible. Half the capabilities disappear. That's where Grocery IQ wins: it works well in any environment. Haven't decided if I need to go back to IQ yet..Version: 3.4.1
✓ From five stars to oneThe last update ruined the app. Usually I delete my lists after shopping and start a new one each week. Now after updating I’m told that starting a new shopping list requires a subscription. I can only keep the lists that just happened to still be there. Way to pull the rug out from under your longtime users. If it were a one time fee I might actually consider it but a monthly charge for something that used to be free is ridiculous. ✓ Too complicatedYou shouldn’t have to type in the item and then hit done at the bottom because if you hit done at the top, the item doesn’t get added to your list. Then when you do type in the item and hit done at the bottom, you have to hit done also at the top in order to go in and put the quantity. This is just too complicated. ✓ This was 5 stars…and now it’s worthlessAfter years of using this app—it was one of the first apps I started using with my first smart phone—I will be deleting it. They went from being able to share lists with others to a worthless app unless you pay to share your list with another account. My spouse was walking out the door, reminding me to update our shared grocery list, only for us to discover their new “update” just screwed everything up. Now our list isn’t updating and even signing in to the same account on both devices isn’t working. 100% time for a new app!! Thanks for a bucket of last minute stress scrambling to make sure our grocery list gets to the family member doing the shopping!.Version: 4.0
✓ The new version doesn’t open on my phone anymoreAfter a few years of using this app, which was perfectly fine as it was, the new-and-improved version won’t even open. After two reinstalls and phone restarts, all I get is the white splash screen. One time I got the EULA with the after and dismiss, but is was greyed out and after I pressed the agree, nothing happened. Too bad. We have a huge list of favorites saved and now we may have to find another app that works. If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it…..Version: 4.0
✓ Text and Email issuesLooked like this app had everything I was looking for. I entered my items and went to send the list via text messaging. It launches the texting feature but doesn't populate the list in the body of the text. I searched the web and the web developers web site for help and I could not find anything that would resolve my issue. If I can resolve this issue I think the app would be exactly what I was looking for. But until then.... I'll keep looking..Version: 3.4.1
✓ GlitchyI originally loved the features of this app, however recently it’s become way too glitchy to be of any use. Every time I attempt to assign my items or my list to a specific store the app gets caught in this never ending pop up that won’t go away to let you return to your list. I end up having to close the app off my phone completely in order to get out of it. If it weren’t for that, this would be an awesome app that would simplify your life....Version: 3.4.1
✓ Difficult to useThis app would be great if there was a way to re-add items that you previously bought, to the current list. The Info button says there’s a way to do that - go to history view - but on iOS there’s no history view to click on. All that’s on the bottom is Lists, Specials, Coupons, and More. ✓ They killed me. Killed me deadI have used this app for nearly a decade. Loved it every day all the time. Helped me organize all my stuff. Then they updated it today and broke it. Broke it dead. Killed me too. They will show you EVERY SINGLE THING you have ever crossed of your list. Good luck finding what you need because all the crossed off stuff is intermingled with the stuff you actually need. Then they constantly ask you to upgrade. Well folks. Premium horse crap is still crap. Find another app. This one will kill your productivity and give you an instant migraine!.Version: 4.0
✓ Not perfectI’ve been using this app for a few years. While I like the app, I don’t like the bugs. I can’t change the aisles in the order I want them. It never saves the changes. ✓ Problems!!I have used this app for a couple of years since my last grocery app stopped being supported. Before this recent update, it was pretty good - not perfect but very functional and useful. Now with the update, features that were free are no longer and things just don’t work properly. I bit the bullet and paid for it but I still cannot get my ‘custom aisles’ to show up - only the ones that I had before the upgrade. And, when I add an item via a list and go to choose the aisle to put it in, my aisles are all scrambled, not in the order of my ONLY store that I shop at. I sent a msg through the app to ask about these things and it was never answered. Very disappointed & will be looking for something better!.Version: 4.0.8
✓ Latest Changes Make App Unusable For MeThis has been my go to app for purchases for a long time. I have hundreds of item listed, purchased, and then checked as completed. My shopping usually includes any recent additions as well as outstanding items providing me a clean list of what is needed. The new version shows EVERYTHING. So, I am at Meijers and need 5 items. The new version makes me scroll through screens of checked off items to find the select few. And no, there is NOT a hide completed items - or if there is that toggle is well hidden. Ray Kroc, the man who made McDonald’s a global brand, once said it is cheaper to keep an existing customer than get a new one. It’s a shame Grocery Pal hasn’t learned that lesson.
