Bad User ExperienceIt is really hard to pay something in this app, since the total value always changes after typing the amount. When I am trying putting decimal values, the application transforms the total value in a huge amount. That’s really annoying and unsafe for the user experience..Version: 10.47.3

Can’t pay my bill as system glitchWhen type in amount what I want to pay it’s automatically add on 00. For example I want to pay $70.50 for my bill but it’s automatically transform in to $7050.00 - it’s crazy annoying!!! Can’t use it for any payment. Sad….Version: 10.47.5

SighSo much less useful. Guess someone just wanted a change to justify their pay check. Let’s face it, no amount of negative feedback will force someone to swallow their pride and roll it back. Check out the alternative banks. This may be a turning point for traditional banks. This is either designed by committee, or designed by someone with no sense of an everyday users needs. You know, folks who check balances often because they manage their income, not an overpaid exec who doesn’t need to worry about making ends meet weekly and doesn’t monitor total balances, or need shortcuts to common transactions..Version: 10.48.5

Basic. Very basic.The app is slow and lacks features offered by other banks’ mobile apps. To start with, it has no in-app feedback utility. So, the App store it is. This app opens the external browser in order to complete some tasks. Is this app just a simplified web layer? Transaction descriptions are NOT AVAILABLE. It only says “internet transaction”. This is so so amateur—how did you release this app?! Bill payments, cannot be seen/edited after scheduling them. Bill payment log, is not easily available, lacks details. Horrible. No instant credit card balance is provided after each credit card transaction in the log of credit card transactions. It only lists a basic description of a credit card transaction, but doesn’t list your CC balance at that point in time (as of said transaction). American banks’ apps provide this information. Very, very amateur. This app was written by a high-schooler as a 9th grade project. And so on and so on. I suggest you take a look at foreign bank apps (USA for instance, BofA to start with), and try to catch up. You’re 50 years behind. Laughable. I suggest you hire someone who has years of experience in the online banking and banking app business..Version: 10.23.1

Horribly Un-smooth Scrolling!It’s been over a year that the scrolling jumps, blips, and bounces causing potential confusion. Ever try scrolling down a list of transaction? Eeks! Even after submitting a video, as requested, there still is absolutely no change! Makes one wonder how much CIBC really cares about their customers. Banks instance on using 3td party interfaces....Often & most likely lead to some of the biggest scams; some already have been well published in various media and news outlets. I would never use it, Major issue , pretty sad that the bank won’t even consider taking it off, when I called and asked them to...... Gone are the days when you get what you want (products and or services) from a bank ( and pay the fees for them, now you simply get things thrown at you and ,make it worse, I am than somehow have to manage and be responsible for it’s security and any mis- use. Please fixPending transactions show up on the balance even though they are still pending! This is so annoying when trying to pay bills and the balance is never covered because you don’t know which transactions have gone through or actually still pending. Capital one for my old Costco card was so much better!.Version: 10.39.2

Making me rethink move to CIBCIn the process of moving to CIBC. I cannot believe the amount of in app advertising that just takes up space. Not to mention it’s for offers I’m not eligible for. Even free websites have an ability to pay to remove advertising. Here I’m paying, and still can’t turn off the ads. And I really don’t need to have half the screen taken up by a Costco welcome after I’ve read it, please add a delete notification function to that thing..Version: 10.42.2

Remove the annoying and unwanted promotionThe app used to be user friendly until recently I found an annoying promotion on the bottom of the screen and it blocked me to select the account which is on the bottom of the screen and does not allow me to close it. it’s totally unacceptable please remove it immediately.Version: 10.39.2

Verification bugA huge bug cannot be fixed for the latest version. The input amount always is always multipled 100 times. After adjusting it manually, the next bug is verification. Again, it remembers the wrong amount to verify (the input amount that has been multipled times) instead of the adjustment. Huge bug for a big bank. I don't know what happened with the develop team. CIBC US LinkDon’t know how to file bug. But it’s been here forever when you click the cibc us account it brings you to the App Store every time. Can we make it open the CIBC US app instead..Version: 10.18.6

Too many adsFor the last month I’ve had a huge message for Costco Mastercard support. I don’t even have that card!This is on top of the ads that block access after logging in. This is lot a free to play game it’s a bank app..Version: 10.42.2

Nonsensical redesignI’m not sure why CIBC felt the need to “update” something that was working fine. The new UI looks like something out of Clip Art. Each option takes up half the screen. It makes the app feel clunky. Oddly, it’s not even a complete redesign. When you click into an account page, it looks the same as before, so the app no longer has a consistent feel or look. I hope CIBC takes the most recent reviews seriously and considers a change..Version: 10.48.4

Bad bad bad!!!!Trying to update the new phone number. The app keep asking for SMS PHONE UPDATE 4-Digit pin. But it never sends it. Neither Customer service does anything and forward the info to IT team nor probably IT is aware of this issue. So frustrating.Version: 10.24.2

Changes the amounts you are paying! Awful usability.Every time I try to make a payment to my credit card or an e-transfer, it will shift the comma on the number making the amount way higher that it should be. Example: If I’m trying to pay $100 to my credit card balance, it will shift the comma to $1,000. Nothing I do on my end fixes this issue, making this app unusable. I work with digital product design and it’s just ridiculous to see such a huge bank with plenty of resources having this terrible app up for millions of people to use. Transfers between accounts requires to many zerosI’ve now deleted and reloaded this app 4 times. To do a transfer of for example $200. I have to say it’s $2000 000 because the zeros are not coded properly so it’s capturing $200 as $2. Worst app ever!.Version: 10.47.5

Please fix password PasteThere’s no need not to allow pasting a password on the mobile app. I use a password generator and a different password for all my apps. Having to type in a highly complicated pw every time is silly. Im tempted to make my pw easier to enter which defeats the purpose. Too Many AdvertisementsOpening the CIBC app is becoming an increasingly annoying experience. Nearly every time I open the app, I’m bombarded by popups or banners espousing new “offers” that I have absolutely no interest in. As far as I can tell, there is no way to permanently disable these solicitations. On top of in-app advertisements, CIBC has recently made the infuriating decision of using push notifications to advertise to me. This is particularly maddening since I appreciate receiving transaction notifications. I’m now caught between not receiving transaction info or receiving ads. Nowhere in this app is there any indication that the push notification permission will be used to send arbitrary “information” to customers. Is a banking app that doesn’t pester me with “offers” too much to ask? If a developer or product manager reads this review, please consider at least adding an overall opt-out for these “offers”..Version: 10.40.2

Too hard to log in. Too many ads. Unreliable.I use my fingerprint to log in, but that’s not enough! They also require a verification code EVERY time you log in. I travel a lot and have many SIM cards, so mobile phone verification isn’t an option (locked out many times when I needed it most). If you want to use email verification it needs to be a business account. You can only attach one email address to your account so then ALL of your personal banking emails are sent to your work. Not secure! The app has frozen on the login page at least three times and I’ve had to do it all again. When you finally log in you need to wade through multiple ads with urgent language, formatted as notifications. Extremely misleading. I read them for fear of missing critical account information (like increasing fees). Now I’ve been standing at the gym counter for 3 minutes messing with my phone - line forming behind me - when all I needed was my account number..Version: 10.31.6

A bank app that includes advertisementsI’ve been receiving advertisements more frequently within the app. I was trying to pay some bills and had to contend with a pop-up offer for a streaming service. I find this highly inappropriate. The app does not include a way to turn the ads off. I am dissatisfied with this app/service and believe this review to be highly relevant. If it is deleted again, as it was yesterday, I will post it afresh. You should not advertise within the app, and if you do I should be able to opt out easily..Version: 10.36.12

UselessBasic features don’t work. Can’t see my own chequing account. Almost all features beyond what I could see at an ATM return an error. No feedback mechanism to contact the dev team. What’s going on with the credit card payment?Hi team! It’s been a few weeks that I can’t pay my credit card in the mobile app, since when it uploads the amount I am supposed to pay incorrectly. For ex: if I press pay current balance, and it’s 750, it uploads 7,500. And If I approve it, it becomes 75.00 !! Could you please have a look? I had installed and uninstalled the app already and it keeps the same error :(.Version: 10.47.3

Issue with transfer fundsWhen I use this app to transfer funds between accounts, it changes amount by itself, sometimes lower than the amount you set or sometimes more than the amount you wanted. Example you want to transfer 111 from 1 account to another, say a bill payment towards a credit card, it might be doing transaction for 1.11 or 11100. Considering that fund transferred to Visa account cannot be retrieved as I have experienced earlier, this would affect your whole budgeting..Version: 10.47.5

Call and wait.Most features require calling the bank, Very poor customer service. 60+ minute wait time on hold. Avoid CIBC bank..Version: 10.40.2

Violates app store guidelines with notifications and ads :(CIBC has started to send marketing via push notifications without asking permission. There is no way to opt out of them. Since 2FA prompts use notifications, you are required to allow these marketing notifications to use 2FA. This violates app store guidelines 4.5.4: > Push Notifications should not be used for promotions or direct marketing purposes unless customers have explicitly opted in to receive them via consent language displayed in your app’s UI, and you provide a method in your app for a user to opt out from receiving such messages When logging on, the app shows an ad that you must 1) scroll down to close 2) uses non-obvious styling to close 3) forces you to double confirm closing the ad with buttons that are styled in the reverse colours. This violates app store guidelines 3.1.7: > must not manipulate or trick users into tapping into them, and must provide easily accessible and visible close/skip buttons large enough for people to easily dismiss the ad..Version: 10.36.7
