✓ Desperately needs an updateThe content is great, but the user-interface of this app looks pretty old. The main problem is that swiping is unresponsive. It just triggers the slooow display of the next image as opposed to following your finger..Version: 3.6.2

✓ Contemporary ArtFor what it's worth, this app is pretty good. I can't find another app that collects and displays art in the same easy-going manner. However, it has that NetFlix problem where when you want to check out all the artists, they seemingly give you ten to twenty artists to check out. It's bizarre. Plus, where's the art from today? ✓ I LOVE ART AUTHORITYI was a little skeptical based on some reviews but I bought this anyway I'm so glad cause it works perfectly for me on my iPhone. I love how the "shows" work. I also appreciate the tutorials and all the immense work these developers took on to bring this to us. Getting information on a painting or artist is smooth and quick. I was wary of the resolution but the paintings look great here even when I zoom in. Plus the library of artists is HUGE and I like how the artists are grouped into time periods and movements. Very organized. I'm gonna use this app alot! Best art history app on iTunes. However, one of my favorite painters, Alice Neel, is a glaring omission. Her figurative and portrait work,besides being brilliant,was very rebellious in the 50's through the 70's when Expressionism and Pop Art made painting the figure unfashionable. She should be included in this app. When she's added I'll give this 6 stars..Version: 0

You pick a painting any painting and gain knowledge of the painting style and history you then pick a artist and all their works included jn the app appear and knowledge about the artist too! ✓ Good, but has its flaws..I really enjoy this app, especially because it links artists and specific works to Wikipedia articles, which has completely saved me in my European culture class. It has a really nice interface and there is SO MUCH ART on this app. Along with being able to look through time periods and movements, the user can also look at different counties of origin, etc. the problem I have with it is the modern and contemporary art section. There is no information and has many flaws. Often, a work will not even have its name displayed, much less the year created or the medium. As an art/history student, this would be more valuable to me. I've had this app for a while and this problem has persisted. Please update!.Version: 3.6.2

✓ Image problems since update anyone?I have the iphone 4S and once i updated the images would not display anymore. kept getting some strange message like "images too small/big for settings" or something like that. i deleted the update and reinstalled the older version from my laptop and the images were back! i love this app and i especially love looking at the works of john copley...aaahhh, but the update didn't love me. 5 stars for the app, but 1 for the update..Version: 3.6.1

✓ Well done!Nice renditions of art works spanning the decades. I enjoy the ability to begin a slideshow, and either view a period, or have it randomly show me great works of art along with the pertinent info. If you are a art fan, pick up this app!.Version: 3.5.1
✓ The best art gallery app, in my opinionThe best art gallery app and one of my favorite apps. I used to have it for iPad, but had to give my iPad away and couldn't use it anymore. It was the only thing I really missed. Turns out it just has a separate listing from the iPad version so you don't get them both for one price, but I'll happily pay again for this awesome app. There are two major periods I'm interested in artistically: the Romantic era and the Baroque era. What I can do with this app is shuffle the art and get about 20 (I forget exactly how many) paintings and rarely other art displayed. The key is to somehow display them on a TV or other large screen, like with Apple TV, and suddenly your paintings are filling up a wall space. Some periods have more representation than others, and I don't know much about that besides Romantic and Baroque, but between those, I'll be having a good time with this app. Strong recommendation from me..Version: 4.11.5
