✓ A lot of room for improvementOverall I am underwhelmed by this app but I live with because I have to use it to be able get my money's worth for my subscription. After ios16 the device rotation is no longer working when viewing the online newspaper. Unless you go into settings each time. That's it. Just go into settings and back out, then rotation works. Don't get me started about the experience when not on wifi. And yes, data is enabled and I am on 5g. And now today, attempting to access the paper crashes the app. Oh joy. ✓ Cannot ever log in. Also the mobile app is horrible.Right now there is a division of political science. Newsday the only Long Island paper, is so far left sided. I’m a democrat and don’t see this newspaper bringing people together but tearing the 2 parties so far apart. I can’t even talk to my Long Island neighbor. The paper should be equal, like it used to be. My opinion is stay away from politics if you can’t be nice to both parties. People listen to your paper don’t try to persuade them to go left or right. Stay in the middle and give us news not the crap that you have been providing. Love thy neighbor. Now we can’t even talk with them literally. Your better than this. ✓ Newsday...stick to reportingHaving read Newsday on LI even as a child in the 60’s, it is usually well-written and mostly accurate reporting. It’s great to have local coverage and the paper does a really good at that. The many sections are nicely organized. The liberal bias however is pervasive, insulting and historic. This does not truly represent Long Island’s politics, which is a republican majority. Newsday would be more successful if they were able to remove that bias against republican tenets. The key to being a great news organization is intelligently presenting both or all viewpoints in such a way that different thoughts are neither right nor wrong. Unfortunately I never see that in Newsday but I am still a loyal subscriber even after all these years, holding out hope!.Eclectic MusiciteVersion: 5.6.7

✓ Behind the Times (and way behind the WSJ)Your site doesn’t always work, like this morning todays paper will not download. Moreover the site seems to simply load the print edition in digital form versus designing the news for a digital format. Compare your sites to that of the NYT or WSJ (and I subscribe to both of those papers as well). ✓ Not “Local” anymore.Newsday has become such a small paper. It’s now the size of Parade magazine. There should be more local news and investigative reporting. It’s telling me I need to sign in because I’ve reached my article limit after about every three to five articles read. It’s extremely irritating; not to mention time consuming. You have no problem reporting on an x president that has done the same allegations as presidents before him. ✓ Newsday reviewNewsday might as well be called the states paper. Every editorial member is way left. They only print pro Democrats stories and print 90 percent liberals letters. Currently owe feds over 10 million in loans. Keep pushing socialist agenda and won’t even need to payback the paycheck protection money. Sad but only show in this island. ✓ Today’s paper does not downloadDespite selecting “Today’s Paper” from all of the menus, the previous day’s paper is the only one that will appear on my iPad. Sometimes an edition that is several days old will appear instead today’s. I have to delete and reinstall the app each time this occurs in order to get the current paper. ✓ Good luck the app stinks1. It is nearly impossible to find things like the weather forecast using the app. 2. The articles highlighted in the app feed are redundant — it lists maybe 6 articles over and over 3. It is mostly annoying to navigate 4. ✓ Paying for subscription but no accessWe are paying for the online subscription but can’t get any access! The app won’t recognize our login info and password even after using forgot my password link. This has happened several times over the past few months randomly and we have to get it reset by customer service. It’s frustrating! ✓ Good paper terrible appSo I love reading Newsday as it is my local paper and nobody covers Long Island like them. However the app is a huge pain. I subscribed for a monthly plan for 2 years and was constantly asked to sign in and when I tried it never seemed to recognize the sign in. I eventually got an annual subscription paid up front $150 thinking that maybe somehow that would rectify but it didn’t still and continued asking me to sign in and true to form it still doesn’t recognize me from time to time. I store my passwords in Dashlane so I have a strong data storage system. When I request a reset the system doesn’t send my email a reset link. ✓ If I could give app no stars I wouldThis is an update to my old review. The App is still truly embarrassing for a newspaper that once was really well written. Typos and stories with wrong facts abound. Stories are left up for days so who knows what’s really “news.” The comments section has yet to comeback — obviously management knows what a leftist rag it is and are scared of being called out. It doesn’t crash regularly like the Newsday app of old, but the paper and app aren’t worth paying for, iMHO. Another update - another half -assed excuse for an app. Now the comments section locks up if you try and reply. Plus, the app runs the same inane story for days, like valedictorians of high schools. ✓ Not the New York TimesAlthough there is difference because Newsday is local news newspaper and New York Times I see much more national and international. However from a tech point of view Newsday just does not work as easily as New York Times website. Newsday needs to have some more website development. ✓ Newsday reviewOne of the poorest news apps I’ve seen. From failure to load to the app cutting out in the middle of reading an article makes this app frustrating and amateurish. Not only one of the poorest, but one of the worst apps. Continues to be a poor app with no improvement since the above paragraph was written quite a while ago. ✓ Why the media has failed usFrom a great paper for decades, it is now a a media outlet that fails to report fairly. It does not matter to what issue is, it’s just openly and unapologetically report the “Newsday one sided “ news. After decades of subscribing to what was one of the nations elite publication, I recently canceled my subscription. I was given the opportunity to recent the subscription on line at no cost.
