✓ BuggyThe program is extremely helpful for studying the written portion on the flight exam. However, I too am having a problem updating the test questions with my ipad 1. It doesnt crash, just says the there is a problem and cant update. Been waiting for an update to fix but there hasn't been one. Without the update, the questions are likely OUT OF DATE so I wouldn't suggest buying the app until it is fixed..CentredVersion: 8.0

✓ IPhone to IpadI bought the app on my iPhone because I don’t have my iPad yet, do I have to pay 50$ again to download it on my iPad or it will be automatically free because it’s on the cloud ? ✓ So much potential, a long way to goA few things. 1. The audio system you have chose for the app is a bit of a mess. It fights with other apps over the audio playback controls and is a nightmare to manage whilst driving, which of course is dangerous. It does not respond to headphone play pause commands. It absolutely should be plugged into Apple’s iOS playback system,, it comes across as a shortcut and cheap whatever you have selected to do. 2. The app needs a dark mode, studying at night is blinding and makes it difficult to sleep after staring at the bright screen. 3. The audio quality on some clips is APPALLING. The need to be re-recorded. 4. Use apple’s iCloud for storage of data, progress, questions answered, the cloud solution you provide is hit and miss, sometimes I cant even sign in! 5. Generally make the app more friendly for iOS, use ‘Sign with Apple’. This app could be so much more user friendly. ✓ Nice, but -I have not taken the written test, but having taken the Sport written prior to the ACS, I have a good idea what the tests used to be like. This app does a great job explaining both the content and the FAA test question "peculiarities." I would give it 5 stars except for one major drawback. The sectional diagrams are of such poor quality that they are about useless. To get something readable, you have to click on the PDF, which goes to the website. I have never successfully gotten a PDF that way; the website is so slow that my browser (Safari) gets errors and reloads. After minutes, I have given up and gotten the sectionals from SkyVector. In either case, the program leaves this app, and when it returns, it starts from the main menu. Thus, if I have not saved my session, I have to go back through all the questions - again. And again. The trick is to save the session before going to the PDF of the diagram. Even then, it is a nuisance to have to wait for the iPad to switch contexts, and to start at the main menu. All this would be solved if the sectional diagrams were given at a better resolution..Kq5dVersion: 9.6.11

✓ GroundSchool FAA knowledge test prepI bought the application for use on the iPad. This is the most expensive ground school in the app store and I therefore expected a good quality product however it is very very buggy and clearly poorly tested on the iPad even though it is sold as iPad compatible. I have contacted support but their answer was to ignore the parts of the software that do not work and use the parts that do. In their opinion this resolves the issue ........ ✓ Flashcards...not much moreI used an audio series in the early 2000's when I initially became a pilot. Now after 10 years of being earthbound I am preparing to fly again. I wanted to use te same package I used to ACE my written in 2001. Based on voice over actors used on the web site, I believe this was produced by the same people, which it may have been. But it is not as effective. These audio tapes I used then where PHOENOMIENAL in learning the regulation....funny voices and inflections, and creative graphics in a spiral bound booklet created flashbulb memories that tied the fact to the answer (eg: 2 soldiers carrying greenflashlights jumping....the 'double green' of an airport light indicates its military) Awesome. I should not have assumed this is the same becuase in the samples the voiceover guy sounds the same. I hate writing bad reviews....but this application is nothing more than a test simulator/tutor. I've known people who used these to pass test effecitvly out of repetition but when prssed their information wsa limited to test passing ability. I'd rather have had the silly graphics of flipping 3 and other pnumonics so that I truly can remember and recll the material. I won't say don't buy it --- I'm planning on using it for my refresher in FAR and basic grounwork, But it is not to be confused with better programs and techniques. ✓ Not a great value propositionI've tried most of the leading test prep apps, this one being the most expensive by a wide margin. You’d think that would include extra functionality, but it’s the standard question and answer type format, with various modes like show me the answer, simulated exam, flashcard, etc The questions are the same as you’ll find in all these test prep type apps, but the look and feel of this app needs some serious work. It looks like a website from the 90s, full of weird sound effects (a cash register cha ching????) and backgrounds with puffy clouds that add nothing to the actual learning, and actually make it more difficult to read. You can save yourself a lot of money with one of the other alternatives, most of which are easier to use (and easier on the eyes and ears)..ILikeSlurpeesVersion: 10.3.2

✓ Bugs, bugs, and did I mention the bugs?Worst bug: will never perform an update of the test questions. The entire reason I shelled out almost $40 for this app was to get access to the most up-to-date FAA exam questions. I'm pretty bummed that whenever I try to update the questions within the app, I get the same error. I've tried resetting my iPad, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and nothing works. Annoying bug: Frequently, I get a message saying the database is corrupted and needs to be rebuilt. Mildly annoying bug: Sometimes, the app will crash two or three times in a row during launch attempts. Also, it takes forever to load, even when there's no crash. This is all too bad because the app WOULDN'T be a huge waste of money if these bugs were fixed. For now, if you don't avoid this app, you'll be sorry.
