✓ Been Using It for YearsI use this app regularly. Although I’ve been using it for a number of years, I only just now took advantage of the automated tempo-advance feature. Very helpful for bringing a guitar version of a fiddle tune up to speed. (Actually it was a transcription of a Michelle McLaughlin piano piece, but you get the point!). ✓ Tempo Advance UpdateAt first I was in shock because my iPhone auto updated this app and I couldn’t immediately figure out how to use it like I was used to. But after searching out the new features I have found amazing improvements and additions to an already solid app. I emailed frozen ape with my concerns about the forward and back buttons being too small and within 48 hours they came out with an update that includes “gig mode” which makes it just as easy to move through a set list as a “brick and mortar” metronome. The new polyrhythmic features are incredible, also being able to program tempo changes and having bluetooth availability for pedals is vital. thanks to the ape for a great app!!.Version: 2.0.1

✓ A couple issues but AMAZINGI use this for guitar exercises and it’s absolutely amazing. It’s also awesome for writing music. I feel though as the iOS for Apple has updated I’ve noticed a few hiccups. I use the increase in tempo a lot and it seems that when it’s increasing automatically when it gets to the 3 digit numbers (100+ obviously) only the first 2 digits of the number show up...so say when I go from 95bmp then it bounces up to 100 it only displays 10. And say 115 looks like 11. Not a huge deal and I’ll work around it but I wasn’t sure if you had heard of this and were trying to fix it! Just letting you know! The other issue has seemed to resolve itself with a new phone purchase but the tap tempo action was causing the app to crash, but it seems fine now!.Version: 2.2.3

✓ Best metronome app out thereI've had this app a little while but only just entered into a project that requires I play to click track live. Since my Yamaha Clickstation broke I turned to this and it's been excellent. The functionality is superb. The ability to plug in setlists with complex tempo and time sig changes within tracks is great and the polyrhythmic functions are fun for practice sessions. My only criticism is that the buttons to flick through tracks when you're onstage are pretty small and often take a couple prods. The user interface, although complicated and slightly daunting, is supported by a comprehensive and easy user manual. With any further queries I found the customer support to be almost immediate and very helpful. If you want a metronome app for any purpose then look no further..Version: 2.0.1

✓ Good product which works wellI am a semi pro musician. I bought this having used a "cut down" free version which was satisfactory. However, in common with most simpler metronomes I have seen, the beats available were limited to the most common signatures, e.g 4/4, 3/4, 6/8, 2/4. This app has a major advantage in that it is possible to enter pretty much any combination of beats - at the moment I am working up something in 7/4 time and the app has been immensely useful, particularly as it is possible to identify which beats will be stressed. In fact, you can, for examples, stress the first beat of the bar with one bleep, other beats with a different bleep, and omit any beats you don't need. You can also do cross rhythms - so you can hear what say triple time sounds like over quadruple time. There is also a set list function, so you can have the beats for a number of songs or pieces ready to play through with. Loads of the functions are customisable. The only slight flaw is that when you gradually increase the beat as you play, the app doesn't always keep up. You have to stop, and restart, A very minor thing - this is a great app which I recommend..Version: 2.1

✓ Better but not yet perfect.It's loud enough to drum to, and I play loud. Very good in most ways. However, why when programming complex time signature changes must I break songs up into different sections on the setlist. I have a set where one song becomes about 7 songs because there is no way to change timing within one song. Easily solvable: just add a section setlist option within each song i.e Save as new Song? Overight current song? Save as new section?. The biggest problem however remains the graphics (same problem in tempo 1) why in a metronome app would the visual clicks fade up and down and not be the shortest sharpest flashes available? This baffles me. It's crazy. Looks pleasant but totally unhelpful. And why have a limit on beats per bar or bpm? I have a song that's 13/2 with accents on every third division. It's unprogrammable, because you can't put accents on the subdivisions and you can't take the beats per bar up to 26. Please remove limits, remove fades, and this app will be total gold... oh, and can you please add an airplane mode button within the app, cause it loses timing whenever I get a text message. Fix all this and the app will be perfect. I'll change my review to 5 stars..Version: 0

✓ Replaces my $100 metronome!This is SUCH a great app, I decided to write my first review after buying numerous apps! In a nutshell, this app is so great, it will replace my Tama Rhythm Watch, which costs about $100. I'm a drummer in a band that gigs, and I need numerous functions, especially the ability to STORE and easily recall tempos, so I can quickly get the tempo for the 'next' song. This app not only supports programmable memories, but features MULTIPLE set lists. What I've done is set up a "master set list" in alphabetical order, then for each gig, I can create a separate set list, and COPY the songs and adjust their order. This was a chore with my $100 Rhythm Watch AND that thing only allowed 30 presets. This baby stores 100 songs per setlist! Many other features, such subdivisions, accents, numerous time sigs, bar counter, reference tone (tuner), visual and audio tweaks galore, etc. I researched tons of metronome apps, and this one shines head and shoulders above the rest..Version: 0

✓ Tempo AdvancedI use this metronome app frequently for my own practice as well as during teaching individual lessons or coaching chamber music. It is reliable and the sound is strong and pleasant. The only caveat is that it opens the polyrhythms inadvertently quite frequently which means I have to stop and take the steps to cancel it. The other issue is that it will revert to 160 without touching anything. If they could build in a way to keep it from doing those two things that happen with a slight touch I guess then I would give it five stars..Version: 2.4

But seriously, Mike Mangini doesn't play tracks that stay in the same meter for the entire tune. For no other reason than Mike's sheer brilliance the app MUST include (in a future update) the ability to add multiple (infinite) measures with independent meter, tempo, accents, etc... I only use the standard one click per beat metronome, but all the advanced features are right up front and I have to tip toe around them to make sure I don’t accidentally press a button the gets the app into a state that is hard to back out of. I like to practice keeping a steady tempo and having the click lay out sometimes. That’s the ultimate test of your time I feel. But I haven’t found another app that does that. A lot of my original review for T1 still holds true here - a great pro spec metronome to rival any hardware unit I've encountered. As an MD/Pianist working on various different theatre shows I've used the original app myself & have seen other guys using it for shows in the West End & on tour. The killer feature really being the setlist function - I see in this new app the enhanced options for auto advancing through the setlist etc which look great. Comparing this app with something like Yamahas clickstation, it really holds it's own; and at about a hundredth of the price! The one feature I'd like to see in an update would be the vibrate feature like on the Yamaha where you can grab/hold a button & feel the tempo rather than look at the screen. ✓ Great, only one flaw...I've had this app for over a year. I'm a professional Musician and teach and play drums and guitar. I use this app everyday teaching and on gigs. It has everything, however my only complaint (and I really hope someone reads this and remedies the problem) is that the area you touch for changing the tempo is so small that it makes it difficult to quickly change the tempo. Often while trying to bump the tempo up a few beats the app thinks I'm tapping a new tempo or opens the numeric pad. After a year of using the app it's still annoying. Why is the area for tapping to change the click sounds so big? There should be an option to swap these touch areas and have the larger area adjusting tempo..Version: 1.4.1

✓ Excellent.Just what the doctor ordered, well for me anyway. I Use it on an iPad for on stage count-ins. I'm a drummer and find this app absolutely great. Use the stop after x beats and then auto move onto next song ready for next count-in Have all the band set lists stored and as you can change the sets around by drag and drop it's very useful when playing different venues where sets have to be tailored to suit. Only down side at the moment is the graphics when using in full screen mode as they're not crystal clear. Nice though as I need glasses to read the app on my iPhone. I believe an upgrade is in progress now so should be even better. Still use this for all my gigs. Can't be without it now. Great..Version: 1.2.3
✓ Rhythm Knowledge loves this appThis app offered me several things that I wanted in a practicing app including the bar/timing counter that I find absent on most metronomes. This allows you to keep track of how long or how many bars of a particular exercise you have done without a separate app or timer. In addition the polyrhythm mode is sick for listening to almost any polyrhythm and playing along with it at any tempo and you can also set up any subdivision you want from 1-19 and time signature from 1-19. ✓ Would be nice to have a sort function...Love this app, and use it regularly, but...I have a Master setlist that has all the songs we play at church. I pull songs for a weekend service into a separate setlist from my Master setlist. Having a sort function on my Master list would make it so much easier to find songs, and eliminate duplicates. ✓ Fantastic!This is a brilliant app for drummers. I read a review in Drummer mag about a year ago and decided to buy - I wouldn't be without it now. The sequencing is easy to see in my iPhone even in darker stage lighting. I don't know what the other reviewers are on about when they say they can't program time signatures, it's easy! if you want 7/4 then you change top number to 7 and bottom number to 4, I don't understand their issue. Set lists easy to put together, change around. No more paper set lists for me!! :-) Anyway, really great app and super value for money. My only recommend for improvement would be to have a 3rd view of a standard metronome ticker like some of the free apps. Overall - best metronome app around for drummers..Version: 1.4
✓ Fantastic! Much better than the free metronomes.Why pay 2$ when you can get a metronome for free? Because this metronome is so much better. Read the help! It only takes 3 minutes and once you figure out the unconventional interface, it's actually really easy to use. Things I love about this metronome: *Steady tempo - even when your phone is checking mail or downloading apps *Great interface - takes a minute to learn, but then it's super quick to change tempos *Auto tempo increases - practise for a set number of bars and then try it again faster. *Accent notes - place them anywhere in the beat.
