✓ Sync is slow but workingAfter thinking to have lost 100 talks out of the 150 I had in my list. I was just gutted. At the end, the list is limited to 100 ! ✓ Rating & SuggestionAn incredible app that provides easy access to so much good information. I think a way that it could be even better (and gain more users, particularly younger ones) is to adopt a tik tok type feed as well. Tid bits of information filtered through an algorithm that users can scroll through would definitely be appealing to social media users familiar with this format. ✓ The Direction of TED Talks.TED Talks have a high degree of professionalism. The speakers know their subject. They invariably speak fluently. One can discern a Leftist slant in most Talks. That reflect the views of many, even the majority. Conservative points of view are lacking. The Theory of Evolution is assumed as being fact. God is rarely if ever mentioned. ✓ FantasticI absolutely love listening to the wide variety of TED talks while I’m at work. Whether it’s inspiration, passion, motivation, learning, or exposure to a new view that I’m looking for, TED has it. The only problem is that I was using so much data! Well, no worries!! TED allows free downloads of not only audio but video. Hallelujah! The only thing is my phone sometimes freezes when I’m using the app, but it may just be since I recently updated my phone and not because of the app. Overall, highly recommended and so happy!.Version: 3.1.1

✓ Great app, but some things could be betterWe have a lot of TEDtalks courses offered for e-learning where I work and I’ve really enjoyed watching some speakers more than others. It would be great if there were options to not only be able to search by actual speaker or more than just a single word when typing into the search bar on the app and maybe only getting a small number of results with the exact word and have to try searching a different word to find the video you’re looking for. It would also be nice if there was an option to create additional lists to save videos to for those of us who watch for both work, personal, and/or any other reason. That way you don’t have to search through all of the ones you might have added to your list to watch when you’re only looking for one that was saved for work..Version: 6.2.4
✓ Picture in Picture modeLove the app and all the content I’ve selected for my personal preference. However, one issue I have is the Picture in Picture mode on my iPhone. It doesn’t seem to work when prompted. The screen turns black but audio carries on. Not sure if this is an Apple issue or if the app needs configuring to fix this issue. I’d love to see it fixed. ✓ Still a great app but U has degradedI feel that the update in terms of Ux is a step back from earlier versions: * Defaulting to dark mode on iOS 12 is annoying. * Horizontal lists on home screen are not as intuitive as tabbed vertical lists. I get that it allows you to tailor custom groups but it's far more noisy and moves away from your traditional simplicity which was great. * The search/category screen has removed playlists. This was one of the features I used the most after I'd listened to the top new and popular talks. * What happened to the audio only "Listen" option?? I use this in the car ALL the time. It allows you to play one talk and prepare the screen to view another (to manually queue) for the next talk. Please add the ability to actually queue talks!!! Or build your own playlist... I can't believe after all these updates you still don't have this? How does one listen to 2-3 talks on a commute where you can't use your phone while driving?.Version: 6.0.4
✓ Not quite as good as the websiteI am probably being unfair as I have had no real issues with the app. However I only give 5 to an app if I’d use it in preference to the website when sat in front of my desktop. ✓ Always learning something newI love TED and this app is pretty much a standard on my morning commute, would have been 5 stars however... one complaint, can someone please update the keywords or whatever needs to be done to change up the curated “Surprise Me” selections. ✓ Overall a Really Nice AppFor the most part this app does exactly as you’d expect. Easily browse videos and playlists, and the “Surprise Me” feature is pretty cool. There are a few things I’d like to see improved though. The video player lacks the swipe gestures that other’s do (pinching to exit a video, for instance) and I think there are yet more ways to navigate and filter TED Talks that couple be employed. ✓ No.1 Essential Education AppSomething for everyone here, you could spend all year round educating yourself with these talks or just a few minutes a week. It’s not only educational but fascinating. Talks last from between around 10-40 minutes, so there’s always something for everyone to suit your own level of free time. I’d like to be able to save my favourite speakers, so even if you’re not curating anything by a favourite speaker this month, it would be nice to be notified when someone I enjoy is added to your current collection of talks. ✓ Must have.There is nothing you can do on this app that can't be done on your computer or by other means such as searching podcasts, however I have found no other method for browsing or searching through a broad range of fantastic content is easier and more pleasurable than TED. Certainly, no other method is better for consuming such content than on the iPad away from your desk. Downloading talks for offline viewing is so easy, just tap the save button and the download happens automatically in the background. I love this app, and it's free. Worth buying an iPad for. ✓ Still does not download properlyEven with the updated version I can’t get the videos to download successfully for off-line viewing. I have a dozen or so videos supposedly downloaded in my downloads section, but when I am in airplane mode I cannot watch those videos. There’s also no indication regarding the progress of the download. After you click on the download video button, it just shows up in your downloads section. But there’s no indication how much is downloaded. And there’s no way to refresh the download or restart it..Version: 4.5

The most problem is when I downloaded the videos to see this offline, some of the videos downloaded but can not play offline. 2. The my downloads area is particularly good as you can save a list of things for later and even watch/listen without an internet connection if you’ve saved them. ✓ A BUG 🐛Hey everything is perfect in this app but there is one problem … when ever i play a video and i forgot to turn on auto rotation and during the video i turned the auto rotation on from the control panel .. the video got freezed the audio while the audio is still in playing … so i have to close and open the video again … can u plz make it fix its very irritating 😠 . However, the app fails to remove videos from my watch list after repeatedly trying to do so, and it sometimes duplicates videos after an attempt. Additionally, the app lags and freezes almost every time I use it. I don’t both going on it as often anymore and putting videos on my watch list because I know I won’t be able to get them off of it! I would have like 15 talks downloaded in my list, but when I look again, I only have nine. ✓ Covid 19 and black lives matterAfter I retired five years ago, I enjoyed looking at TED daily for the variety of coverage. Sometimes I scanned my own interests art, architecture and design just to see what others were doing. I titled this these two areas of concern because I appreciated the thoughtful coverage. My grandson who is 21 challenged me to find a group to discuss TED ideas with. Beyond my partner and my church and book club groups. As a teacher I led Socratic discussion, teaching students how to voice their own understanding and listen to others, even if I had to do so during our lunch breaks. I worked with 3rd through 6th grade. TED talks have given me more insight into the importance of discussion and ways of facilitating it effectively. ✓ Great app, great talks... butReally love this app, and the famous Ted talks need no introduction. App is well laid out and designed well - experience is near perfect. The only gripe I have is that if you download a talk to listen without an internet connection, and you have to pause half way through - it doesn’t remember your place and will play the talk from the start when you come back. Please can the developers look into it holding your place in talks like how a podcast would act? Other than that, great job! Thanks..Version: 4.5.2
✓ Love the app! One suggestion.I had been watching TED talks on my safari web browser and it was always glitching. The app works great and I love that it saves your progress if you don’t finish a video. I also like being able to save videos to watch later. My only complaint is that I can’t find a list of already watched videos. I’ve watched a bunch and when I think about one I’d like to share with someone I can’t find it. ✓ Learning by listening to stories.Our family loves TED talks. It opens discussions about everything and anything. We all have ideas worth sharing.
