✓ FailureIn the lead-up to Xmas, and beyond, Medici have sent me about 15 emails begging me to buy gift cards or subscribe (I previously subscribed in 2014). I caved in on Xmas and bought a 3 month subscription. The videos do not work at all! There is audio, but no visual. And when I log in on my MacBook? Same thing! I emailed support on Xmas day, but heard nothing back, just more emails begging me to buy gift cards. In 2014 I used the Samsung TV app. It was clunky and repeatedly froze while streaming, a problem I didn’t have with other apps. It was barely useable. Half a decade later, judging by my experience and other reviews, medici.tv have still not got their act together. My patience is running out..Version: 4.5.1

I then paid for a month through the app to hold me over while their “support team” could sort out the technical issue. 3 weeks and 5 emails later, I have yet to hear any response from them other than their automated email. ✓ DisgraceThis app is a disgrace to Medici TV. Subscription costs Australian dollars $299.99, and the app scarcely functions at all. Perhaps once out of fifty attempts. Although it does not function, there is no iPad access to the real medici.tv website - when you reach a weak copy of it, it suggests you "use the app" - which is unusable! A vicious circle which drives one crazy with powerlessness. I have now sent 4 e-mails describing the problem, and have not received even the vaguest reply. ✓ Great content, horrible serviceI love the concerts and documentaries, but the website, and especially the app are not up to the same standard. The app will not allow scrubbing of the video, so if you've watched half of an hour long video and have to close the app, you have to start from the beginning. At least the concerts have a menu for separate movements. The app search does not bring up even half the results that you get on the website, and wouldn't you think with hundreds of items to choose from, that there would be a way to make a watch list or at least mark as favorites? As much as I would like to have access to the service, it's much too frustrating for the subscription fees..Version: 3.3

✓ Unable to cast to chromecastI really like the contents of the Medici library. One of the selling points was the ability to cast to a tv to watch on a large screen. However its is not possible to cast to a chromecast device. So to watch on a large screen I have to connect my a laptop to the tv with a HDMI cable, not easy on my set up. ✓ Lousy Technology: don’t subscribe till they fix itFor years I’ve waited and waited and waited for this outfit to fix their technology. Today I tried three different operas. Here’s what happened. First, the videos stopped after 15 or so seconds- just stopped-before starting again…then stopping. And so on until it just became too frustrating. I got 15 seconds of an overture then sound and picture froze. I gave up in severe irritation. Second, the picture quality is fuzzy. Definition lousy. In one case it came good and I thought we were set and then melted away again. Terrible. Three, in all cases after I tapped English subtitles they never appeared. Just hopeless. ✓ Some things broken after iOS/iPadOS 16.1 updateThe media player no longer has a way to to hide the description, etc. when playing a video, or to invoke AirPlay. These controls used to appear when tapping on the video while it was playing, but no controls appear. And so the white areas above and below the video remain visible, which is distracting. On iPhone it plays on device fine, but again no way in the app to connect to AirPlay devices without going to Control Panel. Some of us have saved many favorites. None of our favorites show up on the iPad app or the Roku app. We actually would be forced to re-create all of our favorites on the iPad app. I will cancel this service before I ever do that. And why haven’t you ever released an Apple TV app? Of all the apps that you have released, your Roku app is the worst of them all, as it is a basic bare bones app that lacks 2/3 of your features. Just kill the Roku app, given how worthless it is, and design, and effective Apple TV app. that is what everybody has been asking for here for the last five years. A high school student could design an app and could do a better job than Medici. My login is completely successful when entered via the web browser, but tells me each time that it is “unable to log in with provided credentials”. We meed more classical music in all its forms — ballet, opera, concerts, interviews, etc. But this is a terrible app. Customer service has auto reply saying they will get back to you...and then don’t. I can stream 4K video just fine on other platforms but on Medici I feel like I’m watch through a webcam from the 90s. Since last year the catalog had some cuts, and many videos have disappeared… many artists are also becoming rare figures, and only available in the old videos. Unfortunately, it’s becoming a regular practice to stream a video during a few months and after that, it’s gone, forever. All that I could still understand as contracts may have some restrictions… But what I really can not understand is the last update: the new version does not allow us to listen to the music while having the app running in second plan. Now, if you want to just listen, the app must be running actively in your screen. If you minimize it, the music is gone! That’s terrible! If that continues, I’ll probably suspend my subscription. ✓ Describe contents more accurately.The content is drawn from many sources, and therefore is presented in several languages. The language needs to be prominently displayed, and Medici needs to be aware that some items have contributions in more than one language and with no subtitles, for example Documentaries. A search facility to display only items with a chosen language would be useful. I am looking forward to looking more at actual performances, but even these would be spoiled if a commentary was included in a language that I do not understand. These are early days and I have a full year to explore, but it was disappointing to find a major problem the first time I logged in..Version: 4.5.3

The Met opera, the Berlin Philharmonic Digital Concert Hall, have apps for Apple TV providing great sound and visuals. Medici.tv instead of having a proper app for the tv makes you settle for the lousy sound and visuals possible through the unreliable Airplay. What year are we in?
