✓ Can't understand the bad reviews. It's greatYes it's a bit hard to navigate at first but the depth of this is incredible. Forget GarageBand this is 10x better. Written amazing songs with it and it's constantly updated. The level of editing is brilliant down to each note, length and volume. You can make your own chords to play as pads and the amount of instruments is constantly getting added to plus you can import new ones from websites. The instruments also sound like real instruments not poor samples. They've added audio with great FX so you can use it to add multi audio tracks and harmonies galore. I'm a real recording musician so trust me when I say once you use this regularly you'll love it..Version: 2.6

✓ Till it crashed 😳I was enjoying this free app with 10 and a half hours of beats, riffs, soundscapes, noise, etc. About a year and a half of having a blast; then one day a little note popped up that said there was a corruption in my last session! Lost all the work because my I-phone which I still have cause of financial situations is slowly shutting down. I never purchased the better MS app and it cost me all my work on Sunday September 10th 2017. I've felt lost since, so whoever gets this app make sure you take the proper precautions to eliminate situations like mine..Version: 2.8

If you had a top ten hit with an app off an IPhone then that just says that D&B has totally lost it's way because the production would be very slack compaired to something made on Cubase or pro tools etc...... Carry on dreaming son....lol. Talking about dreaming, this thing was great for an app although I did find it a bit fiddly at times. Fantastic for putting ideas down while being on the move.....Great effort and if it gets people into making tunes then that's good.... ✓ Good starterThis I’d a really good app to start making good sounding songs on. In my opinion it’s the only app you’ll find that works well and is free. This biggest limitation is you can’t export anything as an audio file. Other than that I love this app so much. The full version does let you export songs though. As well the full version lets you transfer anything you made from this app to it so don’t worry about losing your songs if you’re thinking about switching..Version: 2.11

✓ Very good production qualityAs a Pop star/ music artist of 25 years in the music business I have used a lot of music APPs/programs and played on a variety of keyboards including Yamaha , Koss and Roland. The maddening thing is a lots of them are severely limiting rather than helping an accomplished artist to achieve the best music production possible. This app is impressive because it has modern up to date editable samples, that are in sync with today's modern music style. A Pop artist like myself doesn't like an expensive cakewalk software suite with a lot of old sounding riffs in the song, I like modern, professional clean sounding and easy to fit in the song. I am almost convinced enough to actually buy the full version. This App has Apple's garage band beat all to heck. Garage band has very few samples, and it's functionality is very limited. I say that having the full professional version of Garage band. This App shows some real promise. I will play around with it a little longer and see, but this app is good quality and is sounding promising and it might just be fit for the music stars!!..Version: 2.8

✓ Will likely purchase full version soonThis app is one of the few that fits the need to record two midi tracks at once and be able to export them (in full version). Other apps either record the audio for export (e.g. Magellan) or record one midi track at a time like GarageBand. This app in comparison makes song writing easier because you can have two different sounds across two keyboards (or with full version split a midi keyboard), then play drum and bass together or synth and bass, etc. and record at the same time. The controls are also quick, easy and intuitive. Tap on little blue screen to see timeline is especially handy. I'm therefore tempted to buy the full version to then share midi tracks with GarageBand on OS X to take advantage of recording two midi tracks at once from an external keyboard..Version: 2.2.1

✓ Great App, Very ProfessionalI love the app, I use the app all the time. I would rate it 5 Stars but the lite version has a very small selection of instruments. Other than that though it's great. I'll probably end up buying the full version, I just wish it didn't cost so much. I might wait for a sale but with the amount I use this app, paying the full price would still be worth it. Looking forward to being able to save all the songs I've made. With the lite version I've had to have all the tracks in the same project and just mute the ones I'm not using. ✓ Still the best out thereI don't write reviews. Can't be bothered. But then this app is just so bloody brilliant it deserves it. I so at the moment the app is broken thanks to an ios update. They'll fix it, so just be patient. This app let's you craft music tracks, add instruments that for the most part sound authentic, add drum beats that for the most part sound authentic. All of this can be done by drag and drop note placement. It's like music studio for dummies but with all the quality of a master studio. Nearly all other apps I've tried are geared for electronic dance music. Additions: Please a more realistic drum kit for country music that has a "sticks" beat and realistic snare. Undo a recording when you were at position say, 17, and the cursor goes back to play the very beginning of the song, that.s the pitts! ✓ The Breakdown Behind Music StudioThis is amazing app, with all its features but some drawbacks. If you're familiar with D.A.Ws Digital Audio Workstations like Fruity Loop Studio/FL Studio, Ableton, LMMS Linux Multimedia Studio, Ardour then this app should be no surprise. As of this review, 2017July08 version 2.8 Lite, Music Studio features: pre-fabricated/recorded/install musical instruments, instrument filters like •"pan" for left or right sound speaker channels •to "attack" adjustment of fade-in rate of sound/note/music oscillation •to "release" rate or when note ends for crisp and prolong sounds lending itself towards fuller echoes. •It also features automation of volume on instrument channels but no separate distinction of same instruments on different channels or 'voices'. Example if you have 2 pianos but on different channels and want different automated volume pattern changes, it is not yet possible. Maybe in the next update. •Also you can record your own sounds to develop new instrument and/or sounds to compose from or buy the full upgrade Music Studio to unlock more instruments. All of which may prove quite daunting for the beginner or casual musician but for the serious musician they will go out and learn a little bit of music theory and sound design/engineering on DAWs to make their own unique timbre, unique sound signature of any instrument or iconic instrument sound off trend music. What this app does not support yet is: •the ability to import Virtual Studio Technology VSTs, preconfigured and adjustable instruments and portable mini-DAWs workstation sound boards like the commercial bought FL Studio or free LMMS. •Nor is micro-tonal or multi-temperament tones play supported - if you're inclined towards electronic genre type music, •drop-in chords and the church scale modes - also lends itself well towards epic and electronic genre type music when employing scale modal modulation switching from blues Mixolydian scale to brighter Lydian scale for fuller musical **texture**, •and no overlay instrument channel notes viewer to see music composition 'voice/channel/instrument' comparison. As a recommendation for future capability is collaboration with another fellow Music Studio user over WiFi to add socialization dimension to this already outstanding app. All-in-all, you've come to the right place and picked up the right portable and decent running music composing/portable DAW mobile app. Truly one of best mobile DAWs to bless the Apple iOS and OSX App Store/ecosystem! ✓ My son and I have fun with this AppMy 6 year old son keeps taking my iPad from me when I get this app out. At 1st he sets it to the sound effect, but, then we play with the bass instruments and move around to individual instruments, using the chord pads. Then somewhere I show him how to do a scale. When he gets bore he presses the intro of the Phantom of the Opera theme that I programmed into it. We don’t get too involved in learning to play music, but he does get to experiment with music and sound, putting things together, every once in a while in a way that really surpasses me. ✓ It’s funny as heck😂😂😂😂I love messing around with the chord buttons and setting all the keys into a single chord which I learned creates a dissonant sound and messing around with the metronomes after holding the preview button and pressing okay in the tempo settings to have the metronome sound playing permanently. I also have fun making red notes sound funny by overlapping every note 10 times and playing the song. I also love setting the reverb to the max and playing the song very loudly. I have the option to set the routing for the effects. Having the filter on nearly high pitched makes it sound like a smoke alarm. I love this app. It makes me laugh and try myself.
