✓ Highly recommend, great app!Taobao is extremely efficient, and there’s a variety of lovely items to purchase. Many of the bad reviews most likely bought products that had little buyers or little reviews. It’s not difficult to look through the reviews, just don’t purchase products with a single bad review! I usually just look through the product’s ratings and reviews, mainly searching for photos and videos of the product as evidence. If I find about 2 reviews that say the product has bad quality or not as described, I immediately scroll on. It’s not hard. Overall, great app. Highly recommend downloading! Products are cheap, and you just need to keep in mind to always read reviews and check if the product has many buyers. You can always search for the same product in other sellers..Version: 10.30.25

✓ Great app for anything you can think ofTaobao has been a revelation for me in China. You can find things that are very difficult to find in shops. A good example being Dr Pepper, which I missed badly before using Taobao. Also, you don’t have to deal with sales reps in shops following you around or pestering you to buy their things. You can link your Alipay account to Taobao. No need to use foreign cards, which is personally great news for me since the Pound Sterling has been decimated by Brexit. ✓ YasssI love shopping 🥹 my wallet suffers though. Great for finding hanfu 🥰If you keep getting banned, their security is uselessly strict so you shouldn’t change your IP too much. Avoid logging in at different places/devices because they’ll see it as a security breach on your account. You will need to ask your friends currently in China to purchase everything you want on their account and then pay them back. Probably delete the app before going to China and then pick up your stuff, or just have your connection in China send them to you overseas. It will take a month or two. Security is uptight like wechat tbh, but even harder to recover on taobao. Living in the US requires patience with taobao. It’s good to know people in china for this app. As for the other stuff, I’m not expecting a whole lot from them since I was able to access my own secure method for shopping..Version: 10.13.0

✓ Best shopping platform PeriodThere is no comparison. I've been using it for 10 years and Amazon for 7 years now. You literally could buy anything on Taobao, and even something that's not selling on the market. No matter the price, most commodities (like $3 phone case) are free shipping, free return, and will be delivered in TWO days. Tracking, changing address, and talking with seller are so easy. As well as I know, most online shopping site does not allow you to change delivery address once the item is on the way. And God I really hate that here in North America you cannot contact the delivery man directly. But in China, you know exactly who will be delivering your parcel. You will see their name and phone number and get called when they arrive. So your parcel will never left at front door. Same with return. You can schedule a pickup WITHIN the app and easily make changes. I mean Amazon is doing great, but Taobao excel..Version: 8.8.0

✓ Weitao is too muchThe app is very good in general, but one thing is incredibly annoying. Why on Earth do I have to follow the shops on Weitao if I want to keep them in my favorites?! When I clear a shop from Weitao, it also gets deleted from my favorites folder. This makes no sense at all. It just forces you to follow updates on every single shop in Weitao that you bookmark. It would be great if there’s an option to keep your bookmarked shops but not follow all of them on Weitao..Version: 9.1.1
✓ Cheap, but shipping can be expensiveSo i’ve been using taobao for a while now, and the stuff on there is so cheap, but when it comes to shipping, it is half of what you bought. So for example, i bought products that all came to $70. My shipping fee was $40. Know that the things you are buying, your shipping fee will be half of that. once things get to the warehouse, you then have to pay the shipping fee. My advice is to know what you’re doing, because it can be very difficult to navigate around the app without translating. And when buying something, know that you’re shipping fee (for air freight) will be half of what your items total cost is. if you’re wanting to translate something, take a screenshot of what it is you’re wanting to translate, then go to the app “translate” (apple users should already have this automatically downloaded), and on the bottom click to camera, then there should be an option to pick a camera roll image, click the image you’re wanting to translate, and then you’re good to go. In australia, some things can’t be delivered. for example cosmetics: some things can be delivered, but to know if they cannot be delivered, when you’re about to buy, it will say: invalid products , which usually located at the bottom of every products. this app is pretty safe, i’ve ordered a few times now and things on here isn’t a scam. i live in Australia, and it took around a month to get here. if you need help in navigating this app, my snapchat is jccelynnn.Version: 10.19.0
