✓ Don't Waste Your MoneyI thought I really liked this app, but it doesn't render at full resolution. like it says in the description. Also, I'm unable to e-mail photos, LIke someone else posted on iTunes, the photos that the app renders are grainy and look pretty horrible. Don't waste you money..La21Version: 0

✓ PrescribedThis is not a program for artists and it has no serviceable application for artists. It is for people who want to make something look like art by applying certain filters to a photograph that give the image textures and brushstrokes that resemble canvas and paint. These can be manipulated by degree only. You can't make your own brushstrokes, which would be nice. It does what it does nicely, but it is not a painting program, it is a photo effects and filters program. The way that a liar admitting to lying turns the universe on its ear, the idea of looking like art is almost exactly what art isn't. ✓ Glad I waited till it was $0.99Quite disappointed. It's not very user friendly and the sample pics don't really reflect what you really see when you actually use the app. Maybe if the developer included some tutorials or sample default settings it would be better. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what looks good...if there's anything that WILL look good. ✓ Works as advertisedIf you like the look of turning your photos into oils, this app works fine. It does exactly what it purports itself to do. And the interface is good and intuitive. I just find myself bored with the results, even with the watercolor upgrade which I bought. I thought I would get more mileage out of it, but most if the time I just find myself preferring the results of another photo-to-paint app called Painteresque. This in spite of the fact that this one has much more control over the painting parameters. This is strictly a personal aesthetic. Your mileage may vary..NaviculusVersion: 2.01

✓ Minimal controlThis is a canned app that applies effects across and entire photo instead of allowing you to paint the photo with more or less details in the areas you want. I suppose for those that want instant gratification, this is OK; but, I need a dedicated and robust painting tool. ✓ Great but needs more customisationI own all 3 of the 'Artista' series. This one (Oil) produces the most realistic oil effect available on the app store. If you really experiment with the small amount of customisation options then you'll soon be churning out brilliant results which can be made even better when combined with other app like 'Filterstorm' and that is where the app suffers. The customisation options are fairly basic. I want to be able to show really big thick strokes of oil, effect the colours of only certain portions of the picture. A "must have" feature would be to be able to paint on the desired portion of the picture with your fingers in the same vein that the colorsplash app enables you to paint on color (colour). Also with this app you can purchase the other apps in the series (Of which Haiku is the best by far and a 5* app). However I already own the Atistasketch app and cannot import it into this one without buying again? And similarly have (in app) purchased the Haiku app from within this one and cannot review it despite it being a 5star app that deserves way more recognition. Just a though. All in all, a little expensive but the best about. Also Great when combined with other app. Maybe give me gift me the seperate version of Haiku app that I've already purchased within this app so that I can review and give it a the 5 star rating it deserves yeah? ;) Messy Vignette.ValoesqueVersion: 1.2

✓ PoorVery poor, it's just a range of adjustable filters that don't really look like 'oil paint' at all, they generally just pixellate the photo and blur the borders. Wasted £1.79 on this app as there are plenty that do the same things for a lot cheaper..Blakes8thVersion: 0

✓ Wast of space and $! ! !This does nothing but blur and sometimes speckle the image. Peoples eyes look absolutely horrid, and without crisp eyes, its just blatantly pointless. No matter what combination of "customizable" adjustments you use, it just looks cheap. The brush strokes around the edges are mildly amusing, but the poor quality of the rest of the app paired with the ridiculously slow load up time make this abomination of a waste of space app not worth it if it was free.
