✓ OK, but needs a long awaited update4-1-16 update I am using this app again as I can't find any other app that has the same workflow for songwriting. Would still appreciate a software update from Dev though, hopefully this is coming soon. For any budding singer / songwriter, I would say give it a try and decide for yourself. 11-12-15 update Sorry to say, I've stopped using this app. I was losing too many songs due to the app crashing. Also the Sync to cloud does not seem to work very well. There have been no updates for quite some time now and the bugs have not been ironed out. It is a real shame as I have about 25 part finished songs in Songwriter and now I'm gradually moving them to Evernote. This app could be so good, if it was developed a bit more to sort out the bugs. Also, iCloud support would be good for syncing from device to desktop version of Songwriter. If I see an update come through in the future, I will definitely give it another go, but for now, bye bye. 28-2-2015 update I'm loving this app!!! My songwriting is really coming on. I've got an album on the go and this app is keeping me organised. The Sync works well. 19-1-15 update Support are on the case with the sound issue I am experiencing, so that's good... I find that I am using this app most of the day, dipping in and out when I have a minute or two, I write and record worship songs. The songs are gradually coming together and this is the only app I've found that can help me to organise my guitar parts and lyrics, to be able to streamline the songwriting process easily whilst staying creative. I can capture parts quickly and re-arrange them into verses and chorus parts. Yes there are issues with the sync being manual, but I'm getting used to it's little characteristics! I've increased the star rating from 3 to 5 because even with a few issues, this app is amazing and is what I've been looking for. More importantly, it's getting the job done! ======================== At last I thought I had found an app that can help my song writing workflow. The app does a good job of this, BUT, I downloaded the desktop version and tried to sync the two together and what a mess. It doesn't auto sync and even the manual syncing does not seem to work properly on my system. If I delete a song in the app on my phone, it still leaves a copy on my desktop. Also, audio recorded on the iPhone app does not play on my desktop version of the programme. I logged these issues with support a week ago. Still no resolution. I'm even paying for the sync. I think the programme itself is excellent and I may need to forget the sync to desktop - this is a real shame!!! I seemed so close to getting something that would work for me. I can't find anything else on the AppStore that can do what this app can - but my 'sync' experience has not been good at all - I hope everyone else gets it to work. Three stars because of the sync problems - this app could be soooo good if the sync worked better!.Version: 5.4

✓ Please have auto save on writings!!!Everyone loves this app no doubt about it. Very useful and very agile. I get in the illest vibe to a beat and I'm just writing on and on and on without any stops to press the done button and I get a text message and EVEN WHEN I HIT CLOSE the app exits and guess what ?!?!?! just because I didn't hit done ALL MY LYRICS ARE GONE!!! PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM. I am very confident about this app cuz it's so reliable to me so I've still been using it, but the downside is that my lyrics got deleted about 7 times its such a disgusting mood killer. ✓ Great app for songwriters on the go!I really like this app. I've needed a way to capture song ideas on the go, and this is a great solution. I like the ability to add verses, choruses, intros, etc, and then rearrange them all. There are a couple bugs to work out, but the developer is very responsive to customer emails, and seems committed to constant improvement. Overall, a great app for a songwriter on the go..Version: 1.2

But...I think that you should put the welcome to sp somewhere else, like in settings and you should have an option to find a word that rhymes and has the same meaning at the same time. And maybe make more than 4 lines or all the lines display after you finish writing a verse, chorus, etc. Other than that, great app!.Version: 2.1
✓ Every songwriter should make this investment!This application is amazing! I used to write my lyrics, chord progressions, and inspirations in a journal. Now I finally have a more portable, affordable and effective solution to keeping my music on track...literally! The app's built-in thesaurus, dictionary, rhyme pad, idea generator and block style writing theme have all made my songwriting quicker (especially from not having writers block all the time) and have helped me grow as an artist. The only improvement I would like to see (which is coming) is the ability to connect to the iCloud so I can write on my iPhone on the go, or on my iPad at the piano. Here is the message I received from the developers, "We are currently working on cloud technology that will allow you to start writing on one device and continue seamlessly on the next. It will be out within the next 2 releases - this fall. Thanks for your patience and support." Overall I am highly satisfied with this product. ✓ Possibly the best app everThis is an absolutely genius app in terms of its purpose, it's got everything under one roof - a place to write songs and record ideas quickly, transpose sections by dragging and dropping (goodbye cut & paste), a place to record and store audio ideas in your song folders so your ideas can live next to your lyrics (instead of in voice memos which is what I was using before), and a word bank, phrases, a thesaurus that can be filtered by mood, perfect when you need quick inspiration to get you over writer's block. Also I've linked my Dropbox account which means I can back up and export to my co-writers. The major downside it is glitchy and keeps crashing, twice I've lost lyrics because of this. But I'm persevering and hope it continues to get the backing to continue developing and improving the app because it is so good, and so far the pros are outweighing the cons. Seriously considering the desktop version too and then I can sync over all my devices..Version: 5.2

It could use a few updates, such as chord/key charts, and it is rather annoying that you can't see all of your lyrics on the main page (it only shows a few of the lines, and you need to 'enter' that block to view all lyrics). The rhyme dictionary is great, though the thesaurus appears pretty useless (not very helpful with synonyms)... ✓ Bugs!!Everytime i go to write a song if i dont press done it doesnt save. (Should change that) it freezes and exit out the app completely once again not saving any progress that may have been done. ✓ A mobile way to organize / create your songs and lyricsBest app I have found for keeping track of my songs that are in progress, including lyrics. Would like the ability to add folders to separate songs into albums, and be able to manually sort the order of my songs. ✓ This is what I've been looking for.This is an excellent tool for quickly writing down and rearranging ideas. The ability to add lyrics by section is great, as is the drag-to-rearrange song editing. Having an integrated recording function is gravy. Just what I wanted. Things that would make this five-star: Minor request: an offline dictionary and thesaurus. Where I'd most like to use this app is in places where I probably won't have Internet (iPod user here). Still, the version here is excellent, and better than other songpad apps...no ads! Landscape keyboard orientation. Main request: The ability to type my own ideas into the "my ideas" section, as a quick scratchpad. Either that, or integrate in a notepad-like section, for typing other thoughts and notes related to the song (production ideas, ideas to be expanded on later, stuff like that.) But even though this app has the audio button, why not put in a publishing button so others using this app can hear other people's amazing creations. Think this idea through and you might even get more people buying it!! The reason why they would buy it is because there are a lot of artist out there including myself that want people to hear what we have and want people to actually be interested in our music. ✓ Like a charmI haven't even used all the features on this little app yet but I'm finding it really works like a charm. I've had it for a few weeks and keep tapping away song ideas that come to me which is exciting and refreshing as I've had songwriter's block for ages... I haven't even used the idea matrix, just having this little app at hand seems to have jogged the musical part of my brain. Anyway, the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that there is no spell checker/tap corrector and it takes me about twice as long to write things in compared to the iphone notepad. I'm running it on an iphone 4 and have not had the crashes others have written about, but then again, I haven't tried recording into it.... fwiw.Version: 0

✓ Love it! But could be better.Writing songs with pen and paper is too hard. Thoughts come to me throughout the day and with the app I can write or change any song on the go. Everything can be backed up to iCloud. You can create categories to organize. Such as "finished songs" or "songs in progress". Also, GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! I lost my password and my email had been deactivated and they helped me re set up everything via email within 48 hrs, very nice and helpful. There are a few annoying things that could be fixed but nothing that effects my songs and there really isn't an app that is better..Version: 5.4

✓ One star away1) I should be able to delete the welcome to SP file. 2) I started a new song and after pressing the +Block button and choosing the Verse button the app took it upon itself to insert a verse from another song in a previous file I had created. 3) I am using this app on the iPhone 5, IOS 6.0.1 when I scroll down to the bottom of the home screen to work on the last song in alphabetical order I cannot access it because the (Send SP to Friend) button and (Settings) button are in the way. Other than these three problems that, I imagine, aren't hard to solve, I am enjoying this app and finding it very helpful for what I am doing. Thank you..Version: 3.0.1

✓ So much potential - but getting better!Agree with spell check needed. Nothing worse than being in a lyric frenzy and you have to stop the creativity to go back and fix spelling errors. Random crashes and total unexpected erasure of lyrics proved to be the end. 3 hours work gone in an instant! I won't be going back to this app again unless I see it pop up with an update. The record and export functions were really nice but there are other more stable & less expensive songwriting apps out there that have just updated with those same functions. Update: Much improved! The devs really improved the app after customer feedback. I brought the rating up from a 1 to a 4..Version: 1.3
✓ Wish I had found this sooner!This has sped up my lyric writing and song arrangement process while also just eliminating a messy pencil and paper approach. I love being able to just hot the mic button and record my voice vs typing a lyrical line and also love the record feature so I don't lose potential vocal melody ideas. ✓ Amazing Songwriting ToolUPDATED: I'm a professional songwriter and have shied away from using a program to help write. Recently had an idea for a song, my journal was home, so I bought this app and was blown away! I wrote the chorus right away and then added a verse. What wowed me most was the ability to record melodies! (Hate to think of how many tunes and ideas came to mind over the years, only to be forgotten.) Never read the manual as it is so intuitive. With so many features this app belongs in every songwriters toolbox. Would like iCloud synching (hint) as I also got the iPad version, and a MacBook Pro app (hint, hint) . But you can synch with Dropbox for now. Great app, the more I've been using it, the more I love it. Now, whenever working on a song, I record the entire session of vocal, guitar or piano, and then go right into lyrics. At this price it blows other desktop songwriting programs, costing over $100, out of the water. KUDOS!.Version: 3.0.1

✓ I love this app.. It's been useful!This app is actually very useable and helpful. I have to say I really like it. I use it for structuring all my songs and they make it quite easy by being able to add blocks and suggesting ideas/rhymes etc. If you're looking for a quick sketch of ideas and songs then fine, use Notes, but after you're done and you want to finalise the song this app is awesome for that. I personally just go straight to it in the app because I like to structure as I go along. It's easy to say this app is frustrating for some because everyone has a different rhythm in the creative process. The app has a recording function so you can attach a voice recording within your song/idea. Yes, of course it has some bugs, the flow of the graphics needs attention and it's crashed on me a couple times on the iPhone only (never on my iPad or Mac however). I love this app and I songwrite for a living so that's saying a lot. Think it's great and would recommend esp on Mac or iPad if you want a good songwriting structure App!.Version: 5.0

✓ Song Story: Incredibly Helpful AppNothing can truly replace a notebook and pen when it comes to jotting down ideas, but this app has saved me a lot of time in the rearranging of verses. (I used to rewrite songs over and over until I got the arrangement right, or make multiple outlines until I was satisfied. ) Also, it is shaped how I craft or revise my songs by providing the verse name option and making me more aware of which part of the song I was working on next. ✓ Very useful and worst having if you write lyricsI am glad I bought it and I actually don't use it as much as 'notes ' because there are to many little time eating and "creative flow" prohibiting steps. ✓ A really great tool!!I've been writing songs professionally for a very very long time & I've been lucky enough to have had quite a few of my songs recorded & released by a handful of major artists. I only say this to hopefully bring a little credibility to "Dante Moore's" very hardworking app, "Songwriter's Pad! This app is extremely easy to learn and even easier to maneuver around. It is great for storing your songs & keeping track of your co-writers & dates of creation. I've been using Songwriter's Pad since its conception & all along the way thru all it's growing pains the creators have listened to every suggestion I've offered & they've worked hard to bring it up to the level a professional songwriter needs to carve out a great song. I highly recommend this app to any beginning, intermediate or professional songwriter regardless of what level they are at! I would say with all honesty that there is no other songwriter app out there that can even compare to "Dante Moore's" Songwriter's Pad for IPad, IPhone or desktop..Version: 5.2

✓ A good app that's growing into a great one!I purchased this in it's first version. It was a bit rudimentary but the 2.0 came out and it is has vastly improved interface. There are few kinks but that is to be expected with a new software that is still growing. In the past I would come up with song lines or melodies and never have a place to put them down. I'd have to use the voice recorder and then make notes in notepad but then i'd forget about them because they are two separate apps and nothing tied them together. Then I found SP and it changed that. I'm able to write ideas, sculpt them into the different sections of a song (i.e. chorus, verse, bridge, etc.) BUT I'm also able to make a sound recording of my melody idea or a guitar riff right on the same page as the lyrics! This is great because sometimes I don't get back around to an idea for months! Don't listen to many of the reviews here. This is a great program with a great future! Buy it, join us that love and use it and watch it grow faster and more with it's success the developer can do more!.Version: 2.1
