✓ Good ideaLots of things I like about this app. But also lots I hate. Lots of small things need major improvement. App crashes occasionally which has caused ideas to be lost. The main thing I like about it is the pass lock. PLEASE UPDATE!!!.Version: 2.1
✓ Could be betterI like the idea. The rhyme dictionary is pretty good. The interface could be improved: scrolling and rearranging sections is difficult and sticky. Needs an auto-scroll feature that would scroll the lyrics. I'd like to set the length of the song, e.g. 3:20, and the app should scroll the lyrics so that the end is reached around that time. That would be especially useful when recording music to lyrics through the app, and in preview mode. The app crashes a lot..Version: 5.0

✓ Works goodBut save to drop box every minute,dont know how many times i would have lost some really sick verses trying to check the inapp dictionary that dosent work or closing the app by accident.. The font size cant b adjusted so if u have poor vision dont bother with this one, and it dosent lock in place so slight movements like head bopping sends the phone from wide screen view to standard view and so forth which can really stop the creativity...but otherwise its decent.Version: 4.0.1
✓ Good idea, shame it's useless.Downloaded this hoping it would streamline the writing process and add a little inspiration like it said it would. And failing that, at least it would be a useful rhyming dictionary, right? WRONG! Most functions are totally useless. Over 80% of the words I searched for failed to bring up any rhymes. Even simple ones like 'dream.' The suggested phrases and words aren't individual to the song you're writing as I though they would be. Just a few dozen cheesy, overused expressions for a few very broad emotions. And the Dictionary..? Only actually works for words a toddler could explain the meaning of anyway. Thesaurus just plain doesn't work. Fortunately, the app is clean. Nicely laid out and useful for organising song structures clearly. (Although, you could do that with the built in Notes utility on your iPhone.) Hopefully one day the developers of this App will update this with at least some of the functions they promise. Until then I'm disappointed. This has made song writing more arduous, not helped in any way..Version: 0
✓ Needs improvementRead this before spending your 💵💵💵. I was just about to shell out more for the ipad version and desktop. The app clearly states under "other features" that you can change font style and size. I see no option for this, the stock font size and style is to thin and small. Also this app needs the ability of audio copy/audiopaste. I receive my tracks by email and need the ability to "open in" into this app so i can listen, write, and record my ideas on the fly. When you do import tracks you can't even rewind/fast forward the tracks. Wow❗️ Add these two features, fix the recording/playback (loop fuction for a particular section would be nice too) issues and i will gladly give 5 stars and recommend this app until then 👉👉👉I'm better of playing my music in the background and using the notes app.Version: 5.0
✓ Needs workGood concepts, bad app design multiple times i've lost work simply because it doesn't always save properly. Very glitchy for example i've written songs then went back to older songs only to find out that all my lyrics have changed to be the same as my new song. Complete waste of time. ✓ No iCloud functionality and cannot view all the lyricsHere are the problems with this app: 1) This isn't supported on iCloud, therefore I am unable to have it synced to the content on my iPad. 2) Why two versions? Shouldn't one app be sufficient to be installed on both the iPad and iPhone? This is a rip-off. 3) After writing the lyrics down, I wasn't able to view the entirety of it. ✓ Since it costs $10...My rating is really more like 3.5 stars. It's been pretty good, but I agree with many other comments made so far. Experienced a crash after entering an entire song...SAVE button PLEASE. That was very frustrating after just spending $10 on this app. A metronome would be helpful. A simplified way to add chords above lyrics would be Wonderful! One other great feature to have would be space to save multiple recordings within a song to keep track of quick melody ideas. I was actually expecting to have that on this app and was pretty disappointed that it keeps only 1 recording..Version: 1.3

✓ Future upgrades???Great app for song writers such as myself however it's the small things that would make it Jay that little bit better like: - being able to change the screen orientation to horizontal - ability to import and listen to one of my songs so I can write lyrics to it - one thing that's kind of annoying is the when u add a verse and chorus etc, it creates a fixed text field to a certain hight. In other words it leaves big gaps in-between each section of lyrics. Surely you can make it auto justify to just under the last written lyric?.Version: 1.2
✓ Landscape Mode - I must have missed something.I have it for the iPad and I needed a pocket version of it for the iPhone 4. But it does not seem to go into landscape. I can't believe I paid 6 dollars for this app again. Especially, since it doesn't go into landscape mode. I might as well use some of my document apps. And I'm generally not upset at trivial things like this, but trying texting on your iPhone in portrait mode and tell me how you feel afterwards..Version: 0
✓ StupidIt crashes constantly over and over and then if your iPod is set to sleep and turn it back on while the app is running it crashes and all the songs are deleted over an over. The suggestions of phrases are so corny and terrible I don't even use them. Good concept but needs some serious work. Thumbs down DO NOT BUY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.Version: 0
✓ Satisfied.When it doesn't crash, this app is awesome. DO NOT use this app to write lyrics! It's prone to crash and you WILL lose everything! Personally, I use it to organize finished or halfway done tracks and do all my writing in Notes, then I'll revise/correct grammar in Songwriter's Pad. Buyer's beware! This app isn't perfect, but still worth it as it's one of the few options we have.. if you DO buy it and get disappointed, email the devs your concerns and they will look into it. ✓ A good upgrade - but still needs more workI mainly use SP on an iPad. I was pleased to see the upgrade that allows synching with my iPhone. However this needs some bugs fixing and also further enhancements. Synching over 3G doesn't work despite having the option to. Synching also needs to be automatic rather than having to remember to do it before you need it! Maybe as a regular push whilst using it- from device being used to cloud and to targets as notifications so you are always working on the latest version on any device. Single click saving of intermediate drafts would also be nice - perhaps to Dropbox using a versioning suffix on the file. Chords - I don't like the interface that requires it to be copied to the clipboard. Can we have a option on the finger (cursor) bar to access chords directly as well and simply dial it in to the location under the cursor. And can we add custom chords - simply allow anything between [ ] to be recognised as a chord. But despite these minor niggles it is still the best tool available..Version: 4.0.1
✓ Too FrustratingInspiration is fleeting, and when I want to write something down, it is almost an immediacy. This app is almost perfect for what Is except for the user interface, which act as more of an impediment than a utility. I really wish the developer would just fix the glitches so the app behaved as I know it was designed. Also, I sync using it's built in cloud btwn iPhone and iPad. One day - all 70 songs were magically gone from the iPad. This scared the crap out of me. I had to spend 30 minutes individually syncing to Dropbox for added security - I couldn't even do that all songs at once. My art is nothing to risk with a glitchy app potentially jeopardizing it's existence..Version: 5.0
✓ Great app, but some major issuesI wish I could give this app 5 stars, but I can't. It's setup to be a great app, but has some major and very frustrating issues. It deletes (or forgets?) lyrics! Example, I just wrote a verse, pc, and chorus. Decided to email a copy to my cowriter... It deleted the last 3 lines of my chorus! That cannot happen! This also seems to happen when I upload songs to cloud and download on a different device. I want to keep using this app, because of all the great features, but this is an absolute deal breaker. I shouldn't have to worry about whether my lyrics are being saved or not. I hope that this is an issue they are aware of and will fix in the future. In the meantime, I'll use my clunky laptop and MasterWriter. Please fix this issue..Version: 4.0.1

✓ Don't waste your moneyI have just wasted £6.99 on this rubbish app. I echo the comments of the previous reviewer 'Good Idea Shame it's Useless'. There are free apps that allow you to structure your song by Intro, Verse, Chorus etc so the only reason I considered paying for one is to get the example lyric ideas. Those listed are a joke, thought up by a child or more likely by someone who hasn't got a clue or can't be bothered. STAY AWAY Just noticed that the Poets version has the same examples for £3 less. ✓ COULD BE BETTER!!I've awarded this app 3 stars for one very important reason - the verses keep jumping from one song file to the next. It was a fantastic app at first but users should be aware that this can happen. No bloody use if verses are jumping from one song to the next. If they're stored, they should STAY stored! ✓ Too many issues, no responseI have had this app since it came out and there have always been issues. I have attempted to contact them multiple times and have never, not once received a response. The app has great potential, I have it on my MacBook, iPad and iPhone in hopes that one day it would all work the way it should. Update after update leads to more frustration. One thing gets fixed and two more are broken. I too have lost lyrics, I've never synced my Mac because it won't allow me to and now my iPhone keeps telling me I need an internet connection. I suppose they got my money and that's all they cared about. With unreliable function and no customer service I guess I'm moving on and you should probably pass on this one as well..Version: 5.2

✓ Great concept, but crashes a lot.This is a really good app for someone who gets song ideas on the go. This was truly created by a songwriter. Having a rhyming dictionary, voice recorder, and lyrics broken up by verse, chorus, bridge, etc. all in one space is a godsend. The only issue I have is that it crashed 50% of the time when I tried to paste lyrics in the app. I would go into my email, copy lyrics, then try to paste them on the app. Half the time it crashed, and when I opened it back up much of my work was missing. I'm now sure how or when it saves, but it should save as I type. It was annoying to keep pasting the same lyrics in the app because it was crashing. Also, it would be nice if the voice recording section was more robust. I would love to be able to record multiple tracks associated with a song, and to be able to re-name them, arrange them, and delete them. Other than that, I love it! It's a prefect fit for my needs. The concept it great. Once they polish it up and fix these crashing bugs, this will be a five star app no problem..Version: 0
✓ Inexplicably lost all my lyricsIgnoring the fact that this app is riddled with bugs and crashes with the frequency of a Malaysian flight, I foolishly decided to continue using it for storing my lyrics. I, at one point, had an upwards of 20 songs stored in this app. Foolish indeed, as one day without warning or even the slightest indication that something was awry, my entire collection of writings vanished without a trace, leaving not a single recoverable piece of data. The point that I leave you with is this; DO NOT TRUST THIS APP TO STORE YOUR DATA. If you are one of the many writers who made the unfortunate choice to entrust this app with your precious writings, I urge you to back up your work on another service, as any day, possibly next year, possibly this very evening, you may be stripped of it completely..Version: 5.4
✓ Crashed THREE times in a row!!Lost everything...AGAIN!! Hadn't used this app in a long time and I thought the developers would have updated it by now. I was WRONG! This app is STILL trash!! ✓ Could be deeper and less obviousAs a thesaurus and a place to keep all your ideas it's great, but the lyrics it spews out are very cheesy. Personally I find it useful for finding alternative words as I am more musical than lyrical, but in terms of being an inspiration, I think it falls short... ...Unless you want cheesy and cliché songs. ✓ GOOD but...Just been playing with this app for 10 minutes. It would be alit better if it didn't delete my txt and actually saved the progress I made.. Also would be good if it was integrated with the voice memo app because being a musician I like to sometimes try to write lyrics and melodies while listening to a pre recorded guitar track. ✓ Deletes songs and lyrics when syncingI used to swear by this app, but now I am extremely upset! The app connects to the iPad version and when I send and download songs from the cloud, lyrics get deleted and songs get erased! Make sure you back up your lyrics and chords to another app! I use the iPad version for open mic, so now I know to never download from the cloud again. I’ll stick to using the iPad version only..Version: 5.9
✓ Great but I'm angryAlthough I am angry with the sync feature this app is amazing and worth the money. I am very angry with songwriter's pad sync. I made an account and then it asked me what songs I wanted to put on SPS. I didn't really think I needed to put my songs there so I pressed next. When I proceeded to the next place, I was in the menu and all of my songs were deleted. ✓ Crash and BurnTwice now this app has crashed and I have lost a page of lyrics. Always seems to happen when the juices are really flowing and you have some great stuff. Otherwise great idea, but pretty useless when this happens, actually more than useless. Ok, I've had enough of this. For the 3rd and final time this program has crashed and lost all the lines I had just written out. For me this doesn't come easy and after writing some really good lines I exit and come back to find all my changes gone. This is usually preceded by the program doing something whacky. ✓ Too many bugs and little supportIve had to revise my opinion having used both iphone and ipad apps for a few months now. It should be really good but is just ok. I think the developer has not enough time to do this good idea justice. I still cant upload using cellular after reporting it months ago. The app has so many bugs or design faults some of which i have reported but still had no response after 4 weeks so ive given up. Sometimes you get a response sometimes you dont. ✓ My OCD and this apps many shortcomings prevents me from enjoying this...What can't I delete the welcome message from my song list. This infuriates me... Not allowing you to delete that is a pretty poor design decision. Another OCD complaint... Why offer synonyms but not antonyms? Why bother having a thesaurus that only gives half the info? I could just be using notepad and my dictionary app if I'm going to be using 2 apps anyways since this one is so limited. I may as well do that for free. Another gripe is the advertised phrases section. It's basically a database of overused phrases you would never include in your songwriting organized into 9 very broad uninspired categories. The app forgets there are different kinds of sadness, happiness and anger. This doesn't attempt to differentiate between those nuances which really makes it fail as a songwriting tool. Most importantly, they've removed key features from the iPhone version such as chord support (which was the thing that sold me on getting this). Without easy chord support, what's to differentiate this from notepad? A header that says "chorus"? This is a very dumbed down, bare bones version of the iPad app. They advertise them as being the same but they are not. I will be submitting for a refund. ✓ AUTO SYNC, BADLY NEEDED!SERIOUSLY GUYS!!! I still love this app, great design and features, new update is good, but unfortunately I still can't use it due to the lack of syncing features (iCloud or Dropbox) until that's been added its basically useless to me, which is sad because its a great app. I've bought iphone and iPad versions, and can't wait for the next update :).Version: 3.0.1
✓ Updated needed :Ive supported this from the start & REBOUGHT this, and im using it now, yet the gui feels a lot more outdated than I expected. its like im back to using and iphone 4. I request please to update this up to date w/ the current era OS’s potential: -Viewing more of the list at once (rather than using an ipod style slow scrollwheel thru a few at once). -allowing dark mode (custom colors add so much more to the experience, too) - smaller global font sizes , possibly adding color settings -overall faster responsiveness -overall global size of everything in the app -CUSTOM “IDEAS by mood”and “mood” CATEGORIES pleaseeeee <3333.Version: 5.9
