Gravilux lets you draw with stars: it’s a combination of art, meditation, science, and zen relaxation. As you touch the screen, gravity draws simulated stars to your fingertips. You can tease and twist the particles into galaxies, explode them like a supernova, or color the stars by their speed. Move the mouse to the bottom of the screen to change parameters including gravity, antigravity, number of stars, star size, and color. Gravilux was first released as a work of interactive art by Scott Snibbe that was only available in galleries and museums. The award winning app for iOS is now available for Mac based on the same code.

✓ A Delicious Treat for the Senses!This is a wonderful app just as many of the reviewers here suggested. The key here is simplicity and now-ness. One would never have thought that the actions offered by this app could be so meditative and just Right feeling. It's a practice in easing off of the daily schedule of creating and accomplishing goals and simply focusing on the moment Needless to say there are many ways anyone can achieve this state, but not so much within the computing world where the ever distracting realm of technological distraction looms constantly over your shoulder, or in your pocket..Version: 1.0

✗ Leaves me wanting more ...... and feeling like I didn't get the toy I thought I bought. On the plus side, it's dirt cheap, and it can be interesting playing with it. However, the screenshots above are really about the extent of the patterns you'll be creating. I expected two things that this app didn't really deliver: 1) more modes/variations, and 2) more movement. The app responds very well to your trackpad/mousedown drags, and the particles go flying - but - then they stop, and the color (which changes as you fiddle) stabilizes. Musing on this - maybe what got lost in the translation from touchscreen to computer is the interactive sense of particles responding to your touch....Version: 1.0
