✓ Brilliant!!I was reluctant to try another phonics app after a few disappointing American versions, but I'm glad I did. This is a super app for learning phonics. After re-recording the letter sounds to British sounds ( 'a' instead of 'ay' for example ) which took about 5 minutes, it's perfect. My daughter gets to learn her phonics alphabet to her mums voice. ✓ Customise to make it greatThis app is highly versatile. You do need to put in a bit of work (ie re-record the phonic sounds letter by letter), but once completed, it is great. You can also add additional phonic sounds (eg "sh", "th", "ee", etc) as and when your child is ready. I have a set of phonics cards and have used photos of these to replace one of the alphabet sets provided, too, so that my children see characters they are familiar with. As a tip, if you are replacing the graphics with your own photos, use one of the extra sets of illustrated alphabets rather than the main capital letters or lower case letters, as although you can re-instate the original sounds, I could not find how to re-instate the original graphics. ✓ Simple enough for special needsI NEVER leave app reviews, I just delete them and ignore them. However, my 5 year old failed PreK a few times, and never learned to identify even one letter. With the pandemic we began homeschooling. I ran into this app after many frustrating sessions with her trying to teach her-where she would just forget the letter we were working on 5 minutes later. She has brain damage and low IQ. 5 days into this app using 15 minutes a day and she can identify SEVEN letters on her own! SEVEN! Two years of special education & she couldn’t even do ONE. This is a brilliant app, not only can you record the letter sounds, but the error/success sounds too. My 3 year old son sounds so cute with his 'Uh-oh!' and variations of 'Well done!'. Includes a nice range of illustrated letters, giving you the option to choose which set/s you'd like. I think ones with pictures work best with younger kids. ✓ FINALLY!!Finally! You may think it would be quite easy to find an alphabet learning app that pronounces letters phonetically. But amazingly it seems to be nigh on impossible. This app (on the surface) is exactly the same. Again (by default) all the letters are verbally announced by their NAME. As many, many reviewers keep sayingacross many apps; this is not how children learn the alphabet! They learn by the SOUNDS of the letters. So the letter 'b' should not be announced with the sound 'bee'. It should be announced with just the letter itself makes when you speak the word. Well thankfully, the great thing about this app, is that you can RECORD your own sounds for each and every letter! This is actually better than a pre-designed sound setup. Your children can listen to the letters being spoken with their own parents' voices. And being from the UK myself, it also means you can avoid any Americanisms and accents etc. Recording your own sounds is dead easy and it took me about 3 minutes to do the whole alphabet. Also, this app lets you take your photographs or use your own camera images, to use in association with the games! Great! The app is very flexible as you can delete any or all of the default sounds and pictures. I'm so happy! Now I can finally let my children use an alphabet app that teaches them the alphabet phonetically! And with my voice to boot!.Version: 2.7
