✓ Great concept - bad implementationI have been using the app for the last 3 months. I downloaded it because in the description it said I can create my own playlists. As soon as I downloaded it, I had a problem with the search bar. I emailed them (and tweeted a screenshot), and… crickets. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and the problem persists to this day. The app’s navigation is terrible. When you switch from “Podcasts” to “Downloads” and then back to “Podcasts,” it forgets in which podcast you were and it puts your back on the main Podcasts menu. It’s annoying. Yes, you can make playlists but you have to manually curate those as you listen to the episodes. Deleting episodes after you listen to them is about as annoying an not having a playlist. Adding a podcast to a playlist is also kinda clunky graphically. Overall, while the app is a great concept, it is implemented very poorly and the developer provides no support..BoryanakisVersion: 3.2

✓ Nope Nope NopeBeen using this app for a few years and just has nagging issues. One issue: using the search bar when looking for a podcast, The search term you type in is superimposed over the text that the app has in the search bar itself. It's a jumbled mess, and you can't see what you've typed in. I've written twice about this issue and never heard back. Second issue: For some reason, this app has terrible play back quality over Bluetooth. The signal is weak, the playback blanks out every couple of seconds and it sounds like it's coming through 1940s transistor radio. The same podcasts sound strong and crystal clear when play through Apple podcast app. It is easy to create playlists and that's worth something but I think I paid for this app and that's the rub..Re viewerVersion: 3.2

✓ Forgets play positionQuite good podcast management, but forgets podcast position when turning off phone. For instance, I drive to work listening to a podcast. Turning off the car stops the audio ( Bluetooth receiver turns off ) Later, after work, I get back into the car, press play and the podcast is several minutes behind - anywhere from 5 to 45 minutes. ✓ Please fix the search bar issue.I've been using this app for a few years now. It's definitely a better alternative to the Apple Podcasts app, but that's not saying much. Two things that have bugged me for a while: 1) The Search bar, when subscribing to a new Podcast, covers the option to switch between Title and Author, so it is impossible to change between the two. A very annoying glitch. 2) When deleting a podcast episode, you have to make sure to choose carefully between 'delete media file' or 'delete'. If you choose 'delete' you can no longer find that podcast in the app without deleting the app itself (and losing your playlists) and starting from scratch. ✓ Not as good as reviewsDue to many flaws, on the whole it is not appreciably better than the iOS app. Can't download or stream an episode unless you subscribe to the podcast. Maybe you can but I can't figure it out. Emailed the developer but surprise!...no response. The search text box shows up on the screen under some other text so you can't see the text box or what you are typing. The FWD button on the app doesn't do anything. Also the pause play and other controls on my car audio system do not work. It will access the feeds from your Music app, but you need to download and manage the podcasts from the device then. I want to manage my feeds in iTunes and use this as the player only. ✓ Two small but major features missing1) you can’t search through your subscription library. Meaning, if I want to look at the episodes of a particular podcast I have to scroll down to find it. I have 100+ subscriptions so this is a major pain. 2) you can’t listen to episodes from podcasts you’re not subscribed to. (funny enough this worsens problem #1). I’m the type that listens to many individual episodes from random podcasts so this makes this app near unusable. I like the design and playback features and also the ability to create playlists. ✓ Needs skip silence feature, more adjustable speed, and keyword downloading.Overall pretty good podcast app but needs skip silence feature and maybe more adjustable playback speed. I have yet to find a podcast app that lets adjust the speed better than .25. I like have the option to play at 1.3 or 1.45 if i want. Also i finally figured out which podcasts had downloaded. The apple podcast app does a better job on that part and it's free. Lastly, I have a podcast I want downloaded automatically. One problem, it is a network and they make about 30-40 podcasts in that channel each day for the multiple shows on that network (example tastytrade). The last update was exciting, it had been far too long. Please continue to update the app with bug fixes, lack of support and declining stability is the only reason I defect but it’s not my choice- please keep making Podcruncher the best! **NEEDED FIX: import directly from Apple Podcast app isn’t working. Podcruncher is the only app I’ve ever found that allows importing directly without having to use iTunes and OPML. But it’s no longer syncing the available subscriptions from Apple to import. ✓ Interface needs workThe interface has a few frustrating bugs and one deal-breaker issue. The more minor glitch is that while deleting a podcast by left swiping, as you begin to swipe, the sort/settings/filter header bar disappears causing the entire list of podcasts to shift up resulting in an unsettling impression that the podcast you're deleting is actually the one beneath the one you intended. But by far, the more aggravating is that there is no synopsis of the podcasts in the episodes list. The only way to see what the podcast is about is to first select the hamburger menu icon then select show notes. Then you can only see one show's description at a time. I can understand including the synopsis would make the list longer to scroll through but subscribers don't care about that. Programmatically, an accordion style drop down to show the synopsis would be such a better solution - one touch without leaving the page. ✓ Duped by the reviewsI've been using the native podcast app for a while now but was looking for something that had a little bit more control. Given the number of five star reviews and that this was one of the paid apps compared to several other highly rated free apps, I decided to give this a go. 1. I transferred over from Podcasts but it only transferred seven of my 15+ subscriptions. It also did not retain any information on what I already listen to or deleted so I essentially had to start from scratch. 2. I really don't like the UE when I swipe to delete an episode. The top menu bar disappears so the line that you're deleting skips. I had to do a lot of cleanup because further to point number one, it didn't transfer over for me what I had or had not already listened to. 3. Finally I don't like that it doesn't give you a quick preview up with the podcast is about. It takes several clicks in to get to the podcast description..KatmeleonVersion: 3.2

✓ Too many glitchesAlthough this podcast app looks pretty good, there are a few frustrating glitches that made me look elsewhere. One is that on iOS, the search bar is obscured by the title, author, etc., categories. It was also hit or miss as to whether a podcast would even play. I would have to change what I planned on listening to based on what worked at the time. You also can't see every podcast episode done by the creators (though I don't know if that is an issue with this app or the podcasters themselves). Not having the option to go back and listen to an old episode is frustrating, and this occurred on multiple shows. My friends don't have the same issue on their apps. I don't love the player interface either, though I can't tell you why because I just tried playing an episode and it wouldnt work so I can't remind myself of the cons. (I already deleted the app so I no longer have all my podcasts available. I tried downloading a random one to do a proper review.) ✓ Playback issues but otherwise solidI’ve been using this app for many years. I like its sorting options and the ability to skip 15 seconds at a time using my car’s steering wheel buttons which are two reasons I prefer this app over the stock Apple version. Unfortunately there’s been a bug for over a year now that I originally assumed was from the podcasters but its so persistent i had to bring it up. Occasionally the podcast I’ll be listening to will randomly replay a segment from fewer than 15 seconds before sometimes more. I won’t be touching any buttons and I’ll randomly rehear a segment that just played.
