✓ Too long to get diamonds for upgradesLike the game and find it interesting but it takes too long to get diamonds for expansions and upgrades. Also on numerous occasions the daily rewards reset back to the beginning even though have gone into he game everyday to get the bonus diamonds for playing every day. To get extra diamonds have spent many hours over numerous days watching ads which is extremely frustrating (have to watch 10 ads to get one diamond. ✓ Virtual City was great - but this new version is a MISS.Virtual City was always one of the more vibrant and fun city builders (with logical objectives and a fun pace). And so many of those elements are here. So why the 1 star? In a word: PAYWALL. They’ve reengineered this to required real money to progress (with purchasable “diamonds” required for far too much). And by doing so, they’ve eliminated most of the fun and alienated a lot of their longtime fans. Some monetizing is to be expected - but this is insane..Version: 1.21.101

✓ Game is broken - no longer worksI came back to play this game after a break of a couple of years, and it no longer works. Every time I open it, it lands me into a level that is already underway. I cannot find any way to get back to the menu to start again from the beginning with a new player name. It seems to be a totally different game to the one I paid for. I don’t understand how app developers are allowed to do this. In shops they are not allowed to take your money for one thing and then give you a different thing that you didn’t want. I am very unimpressed with this game now, and with the developers’ money-grubbing deceitful attitude to their customers. If they wanted to create an entirely new game, why didn’t they just do that and leave this one for people who had paid for it to keep playing? ✓ MehThis is a fun game but it's rather obnoxious how you are required to use diamonds for land purchases. Diamonds are hard to come by without spending endless amounts of time watching videos or spending money. To only add to the annoyance that is land purchase, everything you have to build is huge so the space you do have just gets sucked up in no time. Also diamonds to remove hills? Am stuck on level 30 the only way I can get gems is to sit there like a sad cabbage watching about 10 adverts an all just to get 1 yes 1 gem per 10th add. ✓ I enjoy playing it but...I really enjoy playing this game. It’s not like a lot of games where your not really “building” the stuff. You know the ones where it’s covered with a sheet and you have to wait like eight hours for it to be ready. I also like that it doesn’t take long for my energy to restore. But there are a couple of problems. It’s really hard to get enough diamonds to build and expand. I don’t have a Facebook or anything that I can get extra diamonds for. And I definitely don’t want to watch TEN videos for ONE diamond. Also the game takes a lot out of my iPad. It drains my battery life rapidly. I can only play on the game for two hours before I have to plug it back up again. ✓ Nice little gameI played the old virtual city game and liked that. The concept here is basically the same. So I can build my city up and organise trucks and buses to move people and resources around and progress. There are two issues that make this less fun than the previous version of the game. The first is gems. Every game has this currency that you need to use for certain things and which you can buy with real money. The problem here is that you really don’t get many without spending money so it seems there is a ceiling on what you can do before paying. The second issue for me is the energy you need in order to be able to do anything. Again this can be a common feature of this sort of game and I get its another way to encourage players to spend but for me it really puts me off. So, I like the elements that are the same as how the game used to be. Not such a fan of the bits designed to get me to repeatedly spend money. I’d prefer just to pay for the game at the start and then play as much as I want. I know this isn’t the way these days (sigh) but it would be more fun..Version: 1.21.101

✓ DevelopersThis game is very well-made except for a few things. Your trucks should be able to pick up from one location but deliver to multiple locations. Also you shouldn’t use energy while moving buildings around. You cannot maximize the space without moving buildings around. Which brings me to land expansion purchases. They raise in price to rapidly. They should require money or diamonds but not both. Also requiring diamonds to destroy hills so that you can use that area to build is problematic and should only require energy or at most cash and energy. ✓ Absolute rubbishThis game is a waste of time for the following reasons: 1. Once you're at advanced levels it takes up to 30 mins to load (on my iPad 3) which is unacceptable. 2. The game always glitches and rubbish trucks disappear while idle, so when returning to the game a whole area will be full of trash and the truck is not broken down. 3. It burns through battery life. My Samsung went from 50% to dead in 1 hour with the game running itself in background. 4. Last update made it impossible to gift friends cash, so now the game is impossible to progress without spending real $. 5. There are features that do not work and when clicking them it says 'available next update' well... You just updated but these still don't work. Seems the only mod to the game was the removal of gifting $ to friends which is just a money making ploy without actually improving the game. Delete - yes.
