Finally A Native App/Mag (not zoomed up PDF)I'm so glad we're moving past PDFs. Finally a native "magazine" that's an app. Suggestion: please add a bookmark feature!!!.Version: 2.0.2

Great response from the help teamHaving experienced problems with setting up the subscription the help team well truly brilliant. Now all is well. Great work.Version: 6.4

Great magazineLove being able to learn more about my iMac. Very helpful mag! Great app!.Version: 3.8.3

Best Mac MagThis really utilizes the medium that it sits on. It is not just a digital version of the printed one, it was designed separately as an interactive piece. I love that I can now enjoy this in the states because I can no longer get the printed one (all the Brick and mortar bookstores are gone). This pub has the best content bar none. I always want to read every word..Version: 3.6

The yardstick by which we should measure all iPad mags!Perhaps a bit slow on the load, but it's worth waiting for – and hopefully load time will be fixed soon. Absolutely fabulous execution of content and interactive presentation. Not only does this mag inform, it does so with elegant style. Well-done, Bravo and Thanks!.Version: 3.2.2

Mac FormatLacks content. Poor interaction..Version: 6.0.6

No problems with this App!I have been reading this magazine digitally on different iOS devices and never had any problems, with the App. The content of the publication is excellent and helpful by being informative..Version: 4.9.4

Finally - magazines done properlyIt is great to see the new version of the MacFormat Newsstand app. It dispenses with the old PDF format of magazine (with fuzzy text and a constant need to zoom in and out) and replaces it with real text and cleverly layered content - all nicely styled. For the first time, you feel that you've got something better than a paper magazine - and that has actually been optimised for the iPad. If all magazines were done this way I might be tempted to get rid of paper subscriptions entirely. For the most part it avoids the temptation to reduce the text area too much (something that Tap! magazine falls into) so that you can read comfortably. There are only a couple of places where you feel that you are scrolling a tiny text window in the midst of a large static graphic. But a very big step forward..Version: 2.0.2

Good apple mag,Good all rounder covers iPhones, iPads and Mac computers, a little expensive on line, but good,.Version: 4.8

Nice and beautifulMacFormat from UK on iPad has a different way to read about Mac ... the format of the mags and the subjects ... A nice reading for a Quebecois beside MacLife (sister mag) and MacWorld. Keep the difference !!!.Version: 3.8.1

MacFormatI have been a Mac user since the original 1984 model. I have read/subscribed to many Mac magazines over the years. But there is no doubt that the print version of this magazine is the finest Mac magazine out there. Any Mac user will appreciate the many helpful tips/articles/reviews. A tip of the hat to our friends in the UK for such a smashing resource. ...John (A Canadian Fan).Version: 3.8.1

Not just a dumb PDF of the magazineThe iPad version of this magazine is extremely well implemented, it is really a perfect example of how to provide an interactive experience from a magazine. Contrast that sadly with the magazines from other publishers, which are more or less just dumb conversions of the magazine pages to PDF. Unfortunately this nearly loses a star because the iPhone version of MacFormat is also just a dumb non-interactive magazine. But at least you’ve got something to read in a pinch, and you can always read the real thing when you’re back on an iPad. (The magazine content is good too!).Version: 3.8.1

Simple and efficientAn easy and elegant way to buy, read and store a favourite magazine. Especially like the restore previous purchases, even when you unsubcribe permanently or for a time..Version: 5.2.3

PrintIt would be a good idea that you can adjust the size of the print at least have three option to make easy to see and read. I enjoy the magazine I brought the hard copy from the paper shop. But it getting bit on the dear side $22.00 Australian dollars. This might be good option..Version: 2.1

Great mag, but pricey across the pond...I'd like working bookmarks also, and this is my favorite current Mac magazine (not that many left). (I won't get started about a certain other online Mac mag with the infamous auto-start videos... ahem!) But with MacFormat, the subscriptions (digital or print) are more than I can justify spending that much money, so I skim over issues at a local bookstore, and only if there are enough good/usable topics to warrant the price. And the price for digital subscriptions is almost as formidable as print prices...!.Version: 4.4.1

It does work!!Felt I should write a quick review after downloading the 'free' edition on my iPhone 4. It does work, quite well actually, and is certainly fine to scan and read the magazine. When you flick pages you do initially have a blurry image for less than a second as it renders, but you can read titles and see images - enough to know if you want to read the page and before you have re-sized the text and images look great, and crisp - on my iPhone 4. No complaints and with a bit more processing power on a 4s or iPad it'd be even better. I don't have any subscribed eCopies, but if you have inadvertently re-downloaded the app rather than just downloading the free issue then there is a Restore Previous action in the help menu. For those looking for the contents just tap the screen and click the icon top right and you get a rather nice scrolling set of mini pages to help find what you are looking for. I wish Stuff Mag was available like this in the iPhone, not just the iPad. I'd take the screen size hit for having it with me to read more often! I should point out that I have no affiliation to Mac Format, but felt I needed to redress the balance from the negative reviews - in what has become anything but a quick review - give it a go!!.Version: 1.8

Brilliant!!!I started buying MacFormat 5 years ago when I bought my iMac 24", now I am the proud owner of a MacBook Air and An iPad Mini, and I look forward each month to receiving the latest copy of MacFormat via my iPad app. I always get the magazine on time, and there's so many interesting & useful articles, and a mine of information on all things Mac. In case you thought that an iPad Mini display (non-retina) would not display the magazine pages in enough detail, worry not! It is absolutely fine, and a pleasure to use the App. I normally delete the magazine from the iPad after a couple of months, but I can simply download it again if I want to go back and read a previous article..Version: 3.6

Great!!Easy to use and read.Version: 3.8.1

Love itWhat magazines on the iPad should be: pretty, interactive, intuitive. A joy to read..Version: 3.2.2

Great Mag BUTThis is a great mag but the recent FREE New iPad edition has an exit issue. Once you've started reading the mag you can't get back to you other issues. Small problem..Version: 1.8

MacFormatUpdate: I have been told by the publisher that you can go and get the mag on the other device; my iPhone, and when I select purchase I'll be asked to enter my password and it will then say I've already bought the mag. I can then download to my iPhone free as you would with any other book or app so I hope that helps others with the same question. Original review: Bought an issue of MacFormat in the iPad newsstand app after getting the 'free' app but, on the iPhone, the App shows in newsstand but it wants me to purchase the already paid for magazine. Surely it would work in the same way the Kindle and iBooks app work with all purchased reads available, and synced, on any iOS device?.Version: 1.0

Great infoThis mag has awesome info, help, user forums, and the ability to ask questions directly..Version: 3.6.5

Disastrous upgrade - hard to read now!The magazine now has a cropped perspective which you can’t enlarge to full screen. It’s very distracting to have another layer underneath which detracts from the eye and makes the whole thing look very messy. Fix it or I will probably end my subscription.Version: 6.0.6

New Mac userThis is the first digital mag I’ve paid for. I love holding a mag or newspaper so it was a big decision. But it was the right decision- I’ve been a subscriber for almost a year now. As a new Mac user the extra features like videos are excellent. It is neat to be able to delete and download again later. My house is a bit tidier without another pile of mags:-).Version: 3.8.1

Superb infoGreat info stunning graphics make this a must read..Version: 3.8.1

Attention to detailAwesome Layout and attention to detail! Always spot on with the info! Always enjoy digging through the info monthly!.Version: 4.2.9

Thought I had subscribed but can't get to the magWhere is the mag?.Version: 2.0.2

Excellent but.....The magazine is very good and I have lost count of the number of "oh that's how you do that" moments but I would like the app version to arrive at the same time as the posted hard copy. It's a bit inconvenient that the mag always opens at the front page rather than where I left off last time but, as hinted at above, I have usually read the hard copy by the time it arrives in digital so I am only looking for specific pages by then..Version: 4.9.4

Simple & complete referenceNice and informative in a simple format.Version: 4.0.3

Simply the Best!I bought the Aug 2012 issue as a trial, and I cannot recall when was the last time I spent $2 and got so much pleasure, value, and style. The interactive design of the magazine is world-class. The whole experience feels so elegant and refined. And, I learned quite a few new things that never crossed my mind before! Highly recommended. I am definitely subscribing..Version: 2.0.2

Qualité du contenu et de la présentationCe magazine est vraiment bien présenté. Il est interactif et de haute qualité. Merci! Les sujets sont d'actualité et pour tous les niveaux..Version: 3.6.5

MacFormatGreat service, great info, a MUST HAVE for every MAC user..Version: 3.8.3

Not intuitive at allI get the print version as well and I’m really disappointed with how hard the iPad version is to use by comparison. Nothing seems intuitive and the screen just hangs dead. Currently waiting in the hope that it’s just slow....Version: 5.6.3

A must read / own / keepThis is by far the best magazine for Mac users novice and veteran alike. Excellent product and software reviews (for OSX and iOS) great tips and tutorials. The interactive app delivers a perfect magazine experience. I've been a subscriber for over a year and can't bring myself to delete even one edition..Version: 3.6

Outstanding, but...I've subscribed to the digital MacFormat from the very first edition (2010 or 2011, I imagine). Right from the outset, it was optimised for the iPad, and was a pleasure to read. I use an iPad Air 2 and, whilst lacking 20/20 vision, have good enough sight to drive. But I prefer not to strain my eyes by reading fonts that are too small, especially on an electronic screen. Unfortunately, in recent issues, they have decided to remove the ability to change the font size. There is no good reason for this, and it was clearly an editorial decision to remove the font-changing ability. As such, I won't be renewing my subscription. I will be sad to say goodbye. Original review: It's a thing of beauty. Very good pricing, too. Superior to the print edition due to the inclusion of video. This is no pdf, but a dedicated iPad app..Version: 4.2.9

DISABLEDMy iphone is disabled and it has to be connected to itunes.Version: 3.8.1

Some difficultiesAn interesting magazine which has been well translated into a digital edition. However, it is surprisingly difficult to swap for or to the magazine from one of the 'how to' books which are also sold on this site. In addition, it has an irritating habit of trying to charge for new items when the site lists me as having a current subscription.Version: 3.8.1

Great appThis is my first foray into Mac Magazines and it's beautiful, interactive, and informative. Subscription price is okay-- rather expensive but I'm an Apple news junkie so I pay for it. Great quality. Download and experience an app that has had thought out into it and executed with you in mind..Version: 3.6.5

OutstandingExcellent content and excellent app. Every issue full of useful information. Great digital format!.Version: 4.9.1

Great MagI started purchasing the printed version of Mac Format back in 2012 when I moved from a PC to an iMac. I have since subscribed to the digital version which I find ideal as it does away with the problem of storing accumulated hard copies. Mac Format allows me to keep up to date with the fast developing world of Apple products and also provides informative data on non-Apple branded products & services.Version: 3.8.1

Love Apple? Buy MacFormatI've been a print subscriber of MacFormat for many years but as with many of my magazine subscriptions I have moved onto iPad copies. My first iPad copy of MacFormat was the September 2013 issue and I am very impressed. As others have said this is not just a PDF copy but a slick, interactive fully digital magazine. I have not experienced the problems others have spoken of and can simply say if you love your Apple products then you have to read MacFormat..Version: 3.2.2

Best Mac Magazine Available.Fantastic, fun and informative magazine. I've been reading this since 2009 and have always looked forward to its monthly cycle release. The authors are true Apple fans..Version: 3.6

Now superb! Before the December issue, I would have given the MacFormat iPad app four stars -- great content, first class presentation and layout, but oh so slow to download; you couldn't just have made a cup of tea in its old download time, you could have had a three course meal! Now, however, the latest version downloads in a couple of minutes, so it now HAS to be five stars..Version: 3.4.4

J'adore...... tout simplement!.Version: 3.6.5

People complaining its not free...Derrr, it's a Newstand Magazine subscription. Too many people expect everything to be free. Don't downrate an app because of your own ignorance..Version: 1.2

Just beautifulI don't write a lot of reviews, but I pretty much read exclusively on my iPads now. This newest Mac format is just beautiful. By far the best magazine app I have seen and I have about ten various mag subscriptions so I have a lot to compare to. Great work. Should be the model for all to follow..Version: 3.6

AwesomeI love this magazine, Very informative. keeps me up to date with the ever so fast changing technology..Version: 1.0

If u have a question they have an answer.I was really surprised to see the vast amounts of information in each issue. I was thinking it would probably be like every other product specific magazine and just praise and glorify everything that Apple does but not so with this publication. If there is a problem issue with a Mac product this Mag will tell you and then tell you the best thing to do fix or go around the problem. Of course, on the other side of the spectrum, they do make issue of the things that are new and worth hearing about that make life a little easier to deal with. My subscription remains on my wish list to my family when it comes time to think of a Christmas, birthday, or Father's Day gift. Keep up the good work!!.Version: 3.6.5

But for the EnglishI stumbled across Mac Format quite by accident on the magazine rack at my grocers. I purchased their guide to my newly acquired Apple iPad Air 2. I downloaded the proffered digital copy. I can only find fault on one point. For a publication with a global market and outlook the slant is markedly English (British). The publication should be focused on the technology and be nationality neutral..Version: 4.2.9

Pretty goodI find the app works well..Version: 3.8.1

Great magI've been reading this mag since the 90's and it's far and away been great. Useful articles and great writers..Version: 3.6.5

ExcellentWell designed and interactive magazine. This is now a joy to read only thing I would like to see is the ability to bookmark certain pages for reading later so when you need to go back to it you are not hunting through numerous copies trying to find the article..Version: 4.2.1

Great!Really good app. Compare to the other newsstand app, the pages load really fast and the text are crisp on the iPad which is excellent considering some of the other apps have blurry text :).Version: 1.0

Mac FormatI subscribed to MF (the printed version) in 2011 shortly after purchasing my first MacBook Pro and converting from Windows to Mac. Over the years it has provided me with invaluable information and tips and I can honestly say that without this excellent magazine the transition would have been much harder. Earlier today I have managed to resolve a Wi-Fi issue by going back to issue 265 from October 2013 and over the years other problems were resolved equally with ease. I have now taken the decision to subscribe to the digital version and have just downloaded my first digital copy on my iPad. It will take me a bit of time to get used to it but already I am liking the interactive features and videos that the digital version offers. And the price is very good too. Thank you to the MF team for an excellent and very useful magazine..Version: 3.8.1

Great MagGreat mag on ipad.Version: 3.6.5

How a Digital Magazine Should Be DoneI've been buying digital versions of Mac Format for a while, but had opted for Zinio up to now. Not now. Zinio presents you with what is essentially a scan of the magazine, the new iPad version here is so much more, much easier to read, including videos and animated content, a really good example of how a digital magazine should be done..Version: 2.0.2
