✓ After 10 discrete attempts to reach somebody in customer serviceIn general, this should be the finest dictionary app in the Apple App Store. It is a wordsmiths’ joy. The app developer and the customer service team, while historically, up to par and can find a way to resolve the issues that their dev team creates, have fallen off a cliff. Date to iOS 14.5 this app is not worth the amount of money they charge for it even if they paid that amount TO you. avoid. Avoid. AVOID..Version: 11.0

✓ Are you ****ing kidding me?This is ridiculous. I have had this dictionary for 4 years. I bought the d@mn thing when it was $40, the very first time they offered it. I am not about to give them more money for some stupid product that wants to do more than just let a user look up another word. This application has been the albatross about my neck for years. I put up with it because I spent a huge chunk of money on the app, and the app did what I needed it to do (although superfluously). If you want to deal with an app that is bloated and is usually the largest app by size in your app library, then fine. But, for this poor sucker, I am not dealing with this absurdity anymore. Stop this madness and stop price gauging because you can't be content with the product as it was intended. You took something simple and bloated it, then made it complicated and pricey... AGAIN. ✓ Shameful businessIt is such a pity because their dictionary apps used to be, bar none, the best in the app store by a long shot. But after their appalling decision to hijack and auto-post Twitter messages to their user's accounts suggesting they'd illegally pirated apps--Enfour's own paying users!--there is nothing, absolutely nothing, Enfour could possibly do to earn a spot on my iPhone ever again. No matter how great their apps might be in the future, having one on my iPhone would always worry me that they'd post to my Twitter account, my Facebook wall, or my LinkedIn status and falsely accuse me of illegal activity. There is no excuse for such incredibly stupid decision making..Version: 4.1.5

✓ Not a happy camper!I've never heard of an update that should not be downloaded, but that is exactly what happened and now I cannot use this dictionary as it systematically crashes on startup. They said they would come back to customers about the situation "in a few hours." Nothing I wrote the AHD5 customer support. No answer after 2 days. ✓ Stops workingI love this program when it works. I have bought it twice at $25 a pop. Each time it stopped working and I had to buy it again. ✓ No help from developerNew Apple update rendered this app inoperable. As requested, I sent full purchase details & history, so they could "get me up & running" again. Then they just stopped responding. Don't waste your money on an app that will stop working, from a developer who just doesn't care enough to support it. Update, August 2021 So now several months later, the developer responds that the app works fine, that support always answers emails, that I must have purchased a different version (??), and that maybe I didn't use the right email address. In other words, somehow it's my fault that, after working fine for years, the Apple iOS update was incompatible with the app. All my info was sent, twice, but somehow it's not enough, or not the right info, or sent to the wrong place. I have deleted the app & purchased the version from MobiSystems, which works just fine. Life is too short to waste time on a company that just doesn't care very much..Version: 11.4.2

✓ Total FailureI have the 4th Edition. When I opened it today, a Total Failure message popped up and sent me to the purchase page for the 5th Edition. I’m happy with this one and don’t want to spend another $14. I tried the support page, but it’s returning a Server Not Found error. ✓ Seems to be workingI can not fairly give this app a 1 anymore but I cannot rate it well either. There has been way to much trouble and for some it still isn't working. There are many cheaper apps that work just as well and I think people should use them and save the money. Merriam-Websters is a great example. I have been using it since this one quit working. Enfour is hard for me to rate as a company and to be fair I will only say I am not satisfied with the way they handled this whole thing. Blaming Apple to me is unfair. They messed-up the last one so bad Apple had to take longer and make sure it worked better. Don't know know if I will use this again or not. ✓ Support where are you??The app will not copy a definition to the clipboard. When you try, the app copies the following to the clipboard: [object HTMLDocument]. Consequently, one cannot annotate another document using this dictionary. I contacted tech support with a precise description of the problem two weeks ago. Crickets. Not a very satisfying solution for an app that costs 20$ Review update: I finally got a developer response, which was, “We don’t see the behavior, but try the next update and see if that fixes the problem.” It did. The app is working exactly as advertised. That moves my rating to a three (3) stars as an average. Five (5) stars for the app and one (1) star for customer service..Version: 13.3
✓ Don’t waste your moneyThis ‘free’ app does absolutely nothing without an in-app purchase, which is a little unusual, but understandable. Unfortunately, it also does absolutely nothing after the purchase is made. I emailed the developer at least five times and received no response whatsoever.
