✓ Generally Good but one requestIt is a good app, helps me controlling the usage of my data. I used to spend all of my data in around 20 days and I had to search for wifi spot for 10 days before the data renewal day. However, I wish if you could include 'carry over' function. For example, if I have 50mb daliy data quota but spent only 20mb, the remaining 30mb is carried over to the next day and shows me that I have 80mb available. Because using more data than allowed is a problem but using less data is also a problem. I believe the most efficient method of data usage is to use pricise amount of data available. Really good UI and easy to see all your usage across Mobile, WiFi and Carrier Roaming. I used the VPN connection a few times to see application specific usage but used mostly without as I was just interested in total usage. As I go over my limit I can set up warning messages to let me know when my PAYG data usage is getting uneconomical. This is because for me part package part PAYG is more economical than upgrading to the next package :). One problem to address though for EU users; Roaming now comes out of your bundle so the concept of Roaming is very different and it caused me to go over cos I thought I had plenty of mobile data left when in fact I’d used it and it was tracked against Roaming..Version: 7.9.0

This is because with the IOS 12 update giving way more info on battery usage I have found that this app is often the most taxing app I have installed using 20% of my battery without being opened once. Last month, about 1/4 of the way into my billing cycle I got a warning from my cell providers that I had used 75% of my allotment. And no one could tell me what the culprit was. I then found this app. The Only app I found that gives you detailed info about how much data each app is using. The 1000+ other apps out there are useless, without app data. This app is great. Investigation showed that it had recorded no mobile data usage for a week or more then dumped it all in one day. It has happened more than once since then so I’m looking for a replacement. Update 17 Oct 2018 After delete and reinstall it has stopped nagging me to turn on App tracking/VPN (which it had started to do every time I opened it) so is now a good and useful tool. Previous review: Was a good app but App usage tracking was problematic so after one try I turned off VPN. There is just one thing I wish you could update with the app. Please add a daily rollover feature. There are some days where I stay home all day and don’t use any data. Unfortunately the new version has removed this valued option. I miss being able to have a black background. Second Ding... This is regarding email tech support issues. When you send an email or try to communicate with this app support, don’t expect a response back. Third Ding... The map doesn’t work properly anymore, like it did in the previous versions. I’ve sent several email messages from the app itself, and never heard back from anyone regarding these issues. It’s like a bot! You get nothing back. Yes... ✓ Handy if you don’t have a capped data plan.Much better than anything my mobile provider has come up with, but then it’s not in their interest to prevent you going over your data allowance. The widget screen let’s me see at a glance what data I have left. The analysis tools are helpful to see what apps are eating data and the alerts are useful as well. As far as I know there is no way to account for rolled over data, however that’s not really a problem as I set it up for the data plan and rolled over data is a bonus..Version: 7.8.1

My mobile company rolls over unused data from the previous month and adds it to the current month’s allowance, but MyDataManager doesn’t have the functionality to deal with this... yet? An essential app for those on limited data plans, and works very well indeed helping you keep track of usage. Need to keep it open and enable location services for it to accurately track your usage, but generally it seems pretty kind to the battery on my SE. Came in very useful when I would have exceeded my data plan, so I took the opportunity to buy a cheap bolt on of extra data, rather than pay through the nose day by day. ✓ I’d recommend the appThrough installing this app, I was able to monitor HOW MUCH DATA I use each month. I was surprised to learn that I mainly operate on Secured Wi-FI and don’t use much mobile data! - It was ALSO confirmed to me by my mobile provider that I use very little mobile data. As a result I was able to save a lot of money by going on a lower tariff. I’m not sure the app is 100% accurate, it is definitely very close though. Also I’m not keen on giving the app VPN access to monitor which apps use data most (I already have a good idea through my iPhone use & battery usage statistics on my iPhone). However, I’ve found that giving the app PERMISSION to always run in the background, improves the accuracy of my iPhone Data Usage, but drains my battery a little bit. Thanks for reading. ✓ Very useful appThis app is ideal if you have a capped data usage allowance. It sends helpful alerts at various points within the month which indicate whether you are likely to exceed your limit or lets you know when you still have plenty of data left to use. There's a daily usage graph which you can use anytime and a handy horizontal bar showing your usage "progress" which indicates how far through your charging period you are. It’s just a far more rounded delivery. Only criticism is my data package allows the rollover of unutilised data from prior month allowance only which the set up in this app cannot yet accommodate. ✓ A pleasant surpriseI’ve been using My Data Manager for quite some time, mostly just to keep track of my data usage. I found it very useful for that, especially the alarms, because I’m on a prepaid plan. But I hadn’t enabled the VPN (for no reason that I can recall) but, after a conversation with a friend a couple of months ago, I decided to enable it (hey, it’s free). One thing I noticed right off the bat, most of those horrible inserted browser ads, that throw video at you and are so difficult to get rid of, pretty much disappeared. That in itself would be enough to recommend using the VPN, but I’ve recently noticed that (probably due to blocking those ads) I’m using data a lot more slowly than I used to. I buy 2 GB at a time for three months, which would typically last me two. But that was OK. However, now, there’s only about three weeks left in my current period, and I still have over 1.3 GB of available data. I consider that quite a bonus. There is a downside, it takes a little longer to make a https connection. But a small price to pay, I feel. Thank you, My Data Manager..Version: 7.9.0
