✓ Functionality stinksAs others say, about 3 weeks ago after an “update” to the app it began cutting out after 30 seconds. I thus emailed the gnomes who make this app about ten times with ZERO response. Also emailed High (who I love) with no response either. He is a busy man and perhaps the gnomes are working to fix but at the moment this is a goat rodeo..Version: 6.0.2
✓ Lost podcastGeneral interface is improved. However, access to Hughniverse podcast has been lost, or is so well hidden I can't find it. One bit of a laugh is if you click on the background Bill Bennett's info pops up. This appears to be a rush to publish..Version: 3.2.1
✓ Content Great but App is HorridI agree with all the other recent reviews. The app constantly goes into “buffering” mode. If I do some kind of reset (leave the app and then restart) I have to listen to the same commercial for some real estate investment firm EVERY time. This ad is often playing over the top of another ad. I love listening to Hugh, but this is just not working. I have emailed also, but it’s crickets..Version: 6.0.2

✓ SelfGreat idea for making the Hugh Hewitt show available 24/7. But I find it unstable. It often crashes. If I go out of range around my house, it doesn't resume. If I then try to restart it by tapping its screen, it disappears, and I have to restart the app. It's annoying. NEEDS WORK!.Version: 1.0

✓ Buffering , always buffering.If it could just make it through one show without always buffering. And it always seems to buffer at a point you want to hear. It doesn’t matter if it’s live or a replay it’s always the same. It will just cut out. It also doesn’t wig I’m sitting 3 feet from my router or out walking and it’ll do the same. I do have to say that their website site does the same so it may be something internally..Version: 6.0.3

✓ Love the host...great content but....I’ve had a subscription to Hewitt for the last several years and use the app daily so I can listen to the show on my schedule. The app has worked flawlessly for me until the last two updates. The whole point of listening off-line is to be able to listen uninterrupted. Two updates ago, the app stopped playing after the 10 to 13 minute mark and would need to be re-started. Once re-started, it would play through to the end. After the most recent, update it stops every 10 minutes and has to be restarted multiple times. Figured I could work my way around that by downloading each episode. That doesn’t work anymore either because episodes don’t download. If Hewitt is the great guy that he purports to be, and if he appreciates his listeners as he claims, he’ll note the comments and insist on improvements. I’m not holding my breath....Version: 6.0.2
✓ App looks like I designed itI’m a big fan of the HH but please spend a few dollars and bring appearance up to current standards. Hugh, you have big audience. Small font tweets and that’s it? At least add a font adjustment for what is likely an older demographic who wakes to your show. Do you think we sleep with our glasses on? ✓ Good App but Very VolatileFunctionally the app is fine, but it crashes ALL THE TIME! It drives me crazy because when I use the app its because I really want to listen and I can't get Hugh's show any other way. ✓ Lots of OverheadHugh’s news commentary is strong and I especially appreciate his discussions on judicial and legal issues. His extensive background in law and politics adds depth. HOWEVER, the podcast contains endless overhead: Hugh’s tiresome promotions of anything Ohio; Hugh’s inane abuses of Duane Patterson (who does a great job filling in on occasion); or the never ending rotation of Hugh’s charity du jour. FURTHERMORE, the mechanics of Salem’s broadcast stink. There are constant short but unexplained broadcast gaps, and commercials frequently begin and overlap news content. Makes me sad to write this. Hugh has a good program but it desperately needs improvements and a better broadcast partner..Version: 6.0.3
✓ Poorly executedThis is one of the most poorly designed applications I've used on iOS. I used it twice, and got rid of it. $2 wasted. The first thing you notice is that the application unnecessarily forces itself into landscape mode. No portrait mode option was available that I could find. This isn't Angry Birds, or some other game where this orientation is required. Among other things: - The audio controls inside the app are frustratingly poor. There are no standard stop/play/pause controls. The "live" show is controlled by a "stop playing" button (a button with text on it, not a normal play control like a square or a triangle) on the bottom of the screen. It seems as if, to play a podcast episode (from another screen) you first have to stop the "live" show, then pick a podcast episode. If you stop the podcast from inside the podcast area of the application, the "live" show starts back up, meaning you have to back out to the main screen and find the silly "stop playing" button to make it stop. - The audio controls while your device is locked are broken. The controls are presented (back, stop/play, forward) but have no effect. To stop the application from playing audio, you have to go find the app, go into it and find the "stop playing" button (see previous bullet). There are other issues, but setting all of those aside, the fact that this is supposed to be an app for a radio show, and the controls for actually playing the show content are so fundamentally broken -- means this app gets 1 star and not used again. Back to syncing the podcast with iTunes. Love the show, hate the app..Version: 1.1
