✓ Excellent app - now test itThis app is a very good idea and should help bring the fantastic iTunes U content to greater attention. But - the user interface will drive you nuts. - audio remote control will sometimes stop/start iTunes U content - other times it triggers the iPod - the search capability for content sometimes disappears until you force close the app - audio stops when you leave the lecture and go off hunting for more content in iTunes u (won't everyone do this?). Just to rub salt in - the obvious workaround of searching iTunes for content has been disabled to point everyone to the new app. Once it is tested and the obvious issues fixed, this will be fantastic. At the moment I'm torn between the app and just playing this content on the iPod..Version: 1.0

✓ IncredibleHow am I only discovering this. I love Apple and all its products. I’ve just upgraded my phone from a 6 with a leap to the latest and rediscovering my love of Apple and what they make available. As someone that is keen to learn something new as often as I can and particularly as I am creating my startup company this app is going to be indispensable. I have never used this before but have just started one course online and love how it allows me to type notes as I’m listening/watching. I’ve not yet figured out if I can watch and write notes without closing the video screen but either way it is incredible to have access at my fingertips to such a wealth of knowledge. ✓ Amazing appI'm currently taking a Machine Learning course offered by Caltech through this app. Both the app and the course are extremely well done. I'm only giving it 4 stars because it has two areas for improvement: - There is on occasion a small bug while watching videos (the video stops buffering), but exiting and re-entering the video fixes it, and - iTunes syncing is not terribly good; that is to say the iPas app looks and feels much better than the iTunes U tab when you sync a course on your Mac..Version: 1.2

✓ Definitely worth a tryThis is just such a brilliant idea. It allows me to download videos and podcasts on any topic I feel like learning about - and from top Unis like Oxford, Yale and MIT - for free! I am mainly using it to supplement distance learning in preparation to going to Uni as a mature student. I highly suggest listening when in the bath or going for a walk! Only negatives are that some lectures seem permanently stuck on 'processing' so I can't delete and one course won't download at all. Would like to see ability to drag + drop courses through iTunes on my desktop, in much the same way as storing books on kindle etc. But only a niggling complaint! Just fantastic. ✓ Finally an iTunes U app!I've been using iTunes U for many months via the desktop and it's great to have its very own app. For those saying it doesn't work - courses only show up in your app if you clicked on 'subscribe free', not all allow you to subscribe! If you clicked on items to download they show up in iTunes, or iBooks and not in iTunes U! Those who say this app is crap for UK users - there is a vast amount of content from The Open University + many more valid UK source courses! Depending on your area of interest, a lot of America sources are helpful too! The only issues worth addressing in this app is to allow us to view more detailed information on courses and files before we download them. I would also like us to be able to add our own notes, tags, saved searches or bookmarks. Other than that - keep up the good work!.Version: 1.0

✓ Why such scorn?The iTunes U app is 'simply' a library app for yout iTunes U contents, but I have been waiting for this for so long. For those of you who like to use your iPad to learn, and do not like the way your iTunes U content was previously distributed between the music player, your iBooks lbrary, and the videos library, then this app is a Godsend. The cherry on top though is the ability to browse and explore all of the iTunes U contents from within the app, being able to filter through the wealth of imformation at your fingertips effortlessly. One piece of advice though, if you know you have contents on your iDevice, but the app appears empty wait a few seconds and it should become populated with your stuff :).Version: 1.0

To the people having trouble subscribing to courses what I do is keep clicking subscribe it will eventually work. ✓ Playback Speed control is awesome!I've sent in a feature request a while back to be able adjust the playback speed of iTunes U audios and videos so that I could watch or listen to them at 1.5x speed because 2x is too fast, and they've finally done it!! Its awesome cause now I can finally learn from my self- development media at a much faster pace which is really helpful since I'm pretty busy. Only minor problem at the moment is that my home ripped media that I have set as "iTunes U" media all get categorized in the same album. ✓ FantasticThis truly is an amazing app -- better than proper tutoring, and it doesn't cost $80 an hour :P One minor improvement would be the ability to save videos to camera roll so you wouldn't have to download them again to rewatch them. Also, could you add more stuff for younger people? I was looking for year 9-10 general maths courses and I couldn't find any. Broader range in media would also be greatly appreciated (for example, I prefer learning from videos and lectures over learning from writing) Overall, still could use some tweaking but a fantastic idea with a lot of potential. These are lectures from word class tutors that are extremely skilled at passing on fascinating information, I can't think of a better way to learn! ✓ Improvements: History and SuggestionsInstead of accumulating a lot of completed courses, when subscribing to one, it is put in your history. That way, once you complete it, you can free up some space on your library and access the course later on in your history if needed. (Like “Purchased” in iBooks”) The history button could be besides “Top Charts”. Based on “Related Courses” of the courses you completed, suggest courses in a “Home” button next to “My Courses”. When completing a course, add an indicator such as a checkmark in the corner of the “thumbnail” to quickly verify if you subscribed to it or completed it when navigating featured courses. ✓ Very Useful but...I have been using this app to teach myself physics. It is very useful and has the potential to grow as more universities release open course materials. However, I get the feeling that it is being somewhat neglected by the developers: updates are rare, yet there are some problems to be fixed. For example, if your device locks itself automatically while the app is trying to download a lecture, it cancels the download and you have to start over. This is very frustrating for me as I have a slow connection. Overall I am very happy, I just wanted to alert Apple about a few minor problems..Version: 2.1.1

✓ Wow nice oneI'm in Australia, course material is downloading fine for me. this app is really nice, and I've taken up watching one or two lectures each night just to learn new things. the notebook format is really good to track materials and what you've been completed. I found myself stuck with a video that I'd downloaded separately some time a go on iTunes on my pc. for some reason trying to delete from within the app it would crash the app. I managed to delete it from the videos app instead..Version: 1.0
