✓ DisappointedI was very happy with grade 3 app but not with grade 5. There are errors, the singing has very strange intervals which are very hard to memorise. I bought all 3 books but it was noticeable after the 3rd book it just seemed to randomly repeat aural tests I had already heard. Feature and clapping are not synchronised correctly either. And the player does not always emphasise the first beat in the clapping. Sometimes on the note singing it says it can't hear me. A disappointment all round..Version: 2.4
✓ Not a trainer just a testerThere is no training material, only full speed tests as in the exams. So only useful for students who already have the skills and want to practice just before an exam. There is no way to change the pitch so tests assume that students are girls or boys whose voices have not broken. Very limited use and mis-sold as a training app not to mention the poor level of support with long delays or no response..Version: 3.0.2
✓ Not worth the money - yet.This has the potential to be a good ap, but it's not there yet. Too often I was left not knowing what button I should be pressing or what I should be doing to complete the activity. This should be more straight forward, or at he very least the help should be made more helpful. Some exercises seemed to work but others didn't. ✓ Had to delete as can’t get it to stop ‘recording’This app seems really useful but no matter what I do when I exit it shows as ‘recording’ on top of my iPad with a big red line (much like when google maps is still active!) ✓ Cannot refund although I cannot use it at allI bought a lite version of ABRSM app and then tried to upgrade to full version in-app. The payment has been made successful. But the app still shown as lite version. I tried to click the restore purchase button, it shown as in processing forever. I sent refund request to Apple, they told me to contact app developer since they cannot refund such purchase. I contacted app developer and was told to contact Apple since I bought from Apple. It’s frustrating..Version: 2.6.1
✓ Really not greatThis app uses a lot of examples that are already in the Abrsm aural books, so if you were hoping for a wealth of new material you would be disappointed. We tried the Grade 3 tests. The clapping test is hopeless- you are advised to wait a few bars before starting and this causes an instant failure. The tapping is hard to register ( tried by my 9 year old and myself). The spot the difference requires the lightning reactions of a fighter pilot or,again, an instant fail which is not very encouraging to the young. As far as I can tell test 3B and 3D are ok, hence the 1 star..Version: 2.6
✓ Does not do what it describesI came on here expecting the pieces and the backing track for each of them but they were incorrect and the app did not work as i expected. I’ve asked for a refund because it is faulty and now have wasted £8.Version: 2.6.1
✓ BadSo there’s quite a few bugs with this app - The sight-singing exercise is oddly marked, I’ve only ever gotten a few notes ticked ever and usually they give me none right (and I’m using this for my grade 5 singing!) - The sight-singing exercise also has a supposed tuner feature which I believe to be at the bottom but it doesn’t seem to do anything - The tapping rhythm is overly harsh, you could be just one quaver out and it would fail you which isn’t good if you’re trying to get a realistic sense of what you would get in an exam - It’s not compatible with my headphones i.e. it refuses to recognise them and plays the sound out loud which is fine - The app overall is not designed intuitively and takes a while to get the hang of which would be hard if you’re not tech savvy There are some pros! - The melody repetition exercises are fine and you can grade your own performance, checking your recording against the original - The musical features exercise is good (however you are limited in your answers) Overall if you struggle with identifying the styles of musical pieces or melody repetition I would get this app, otherwise it’s not worth the money.Version: 2.5
✓ Very poor serviceWe bought full version of this app which showed family sharing. On daughter’s iPad, it downloaded Lite version only and didn’t let restore purchases work. Have wasted £7.99 on this. Very poor.Version: 2.6
✓ Doesn't work on older iPadRecommended by the piano teacher, and as Scale Trainer worked so well, I went for the full version of Aural Trainer. What a disappointment. Any test that needs a tap on screen response doesn't work - so no pulse and tap, or differences. Ok, so this is an early 4th gen iPad, but running first IOS 9 then 10.1, it should have been tested before release. It's too late (for me) for this year's exam, but please get this updated!.Version: 2.4

✓ Not good enoughThe screen is low res so doesn't look good on an ipad. You might expect this from an older app but not a new one. Not as good as the old CDs. Poor menu structure for choosing tests and not sure how many tests there are. Plays back your echo but doesn't mark it. The pulse test was good and provided feedback as to how you went. Overall disappointing..Version: 1.1.1
✓ Sight-singing doesn't work on iPhoneI was disappointed that the application didn't work properly on the iPhone especially sight-singing - it asked to be placed horizontal in order for notes to be visible but it still wouldn't work. When I tried to download to my iPad the application asked me to pay again for upgrade!.Version: 2.0
✓ Good idea but there are bugsThe differences section doesn’t give you a chance to respond before going straight to tell you you’re wrong, and the tapping doesn’t register. A shame as would have been useful for my students to practice at home with.Version: 2.5
✓ Great start but...The echo phrases and exercises need to have a count in in order to do them correctly. The echo needs to be immediately after the playing, which is nearly impossible to do. Fix that and this will be great..Version: 1.1.1

✓ Good but not accessible through Bluetooth speakerWould really prefer to use this with Bluetooth speaker or headphones rather than listening with the poor speakers on my phone. ✓ No Bluetooth connectionI use this app for my students but wish there was a way to connect via Bluetooth to a smart speaker so that they can clap rather than having to tap. The volume on a phone is not sufficient to clap along to. ✓ Bug leave microphone active after quitting appNotice there is a security flaw. When you quit the app (swiping up from bottom of the screen or pressing home button), the app is still listening on the microphone (microphone indicator still showing). Developer needs to urgently fix this security flaw. Otherwise app is a great learning tool..Version: 3.0.2
