Sight Reading HD Lite for Positive User Reviews

SuperI really like it and recommend..Version: 2.0.1

Helped me get back on my feet (hands)...I haven't played piano for a while and my sight reading became so terrible...i spent 10 minutes on this and everything started coming back to me!.Version: 2.1

Just what I was looking forThis software was just what I was looking for to learn sight reading on the go. It is easy to use and seems to yield results. I highly recommend. I do wish the free version had all options unlocked, but even the free version is extremely useful..Version: 2.1

Best sight reading appI bought this to brush up on my sight reading and another 2 apps. This one is by far the best of the three. I ended up buying the upgrade so I can change key signatures and advance to more complicated levels as my reading improves. Fantastic app! Recommended for students and teachers!.Version: 2.1

Very usefulVery useful for getting recognition up to speed.Version: 2.1

Does exactly what it says on the tinPretty self explanatory. Does the job. Not the prettiest app in the world. Looks a Commodore 64 program for some reason. I use it and it works. Google a couple of hints on how to memorise the lines and spaces. You'll notice the difference after a day..Version: 2.1

Great ToolWork on your sight reading speed and fluency, use your history to view your accuracy increase and your reaction time decrease. Simple, convenient and effective..Version: 2.0.1

You MUST use this!I am using it to improve my sight reading. It is exactly what I need..Version: 2.0.3

Great app for a beginner to learnI am new at this and by playing with this app a few minutes a day, I am getting a lot quicker at reading the notes! Really love it..Version: 1.2

Helpful toolVery useful tool for learning to sight read. Love being able to practice anytime and anywhere. Have the same type of program on my computer attached to my keyboard which is great but not always convenient for practice like this..Version: 2.1

Music note refreshment without the lessonsThis app is for people with basic sight reading knowledge either out of practice or no time to take piano lesson. I now can practice on my iPad lying in bed, having morning coffee.......while my grand piano is collecting dust! Pretty soon my memories of piano notes will come back to me ! Great app. Thank you !.Version: 1.2

Great app for music teachers!Good to practice basic musical skills,.Version: 2.0.2

Piano reviewThis app is very simple and does just what it says it does. A simple way to practice site reading..Version: 2.1

Great AppPerfect for starting out in learning how to sight read. I don't even have a Piano yet am gaining great music reading abilities. Well done!!.Version: 2.1

Very helpfulVery very good. It's been 25 years since I read music and within 10 mins of this, it's flooding back! Am delighted, thanks..Version: 2.0.1

Great appGreat for learning sight reading and reading music in general, can follow your progress clearly with history button and charts. Fantastic tool to develop your music playing.Version: 2.1

Seems goodEarly days but this app has 2 staffs as seen on all piano music and as such when it jumps from one to another you now where you are either bass or Treble unlike some other apps this should make your learning progress a lot better without any irritations. I am very pleased with this so far and from a short dive into its other depths it has a lot to give the learner to a very advanced level of understanding hope I get that far.Version: 2.1

Brilliant appBrilliant app, easy to use. Really helps with sight reading. One of the best apps I have used. Thank you.Version: 2.1

Great appReally good fun and has got me remembering how to sight read, especially the bass clef..Version: 2.1

It HelpsI just started using this app today and I can't seem to stop trying it because the repetition is teaching me so quickly. My family and I are competing with it lol. Great app, I recommend it..Version: 2.1

Great to learn to readGreat practice for becoming proficient in sight reading music! The more you practice, the better you get, and you get instant feedback..Version: 2.2

FantasticI'm a beginner piano player (2 years) and I've found this app very helpful to quickly recognise notes - the clapping at the end is very cute. Would be nice if you could do chords as well...Version: 2.2

MeVery good app with a tut tut for errors and a round of applause at the end. How about playing the note again when we get it right?.Version: 2.0.2

Good AppDoes exactly what it says and more fun with much better feedback than trawling through the equivalent books!.Version: 2.1

Simple, directA quick, clean, flash-card matching notes to keys on the keyboard. I'm enjoying the practise, and making the connections..Version: 2.1

Great way to practiceI like how you enter the answers on the piano keys rather just the note names, which is not nearly as helpful. Its gets me competitive to see my score improve, which is great because sight reading practice can be rather mundane.Version: 2.1

Teacher's dreamMy students will eagerly ask for this game over and over, just to play with my iPad, while they would never beg for flash cards! In a group they love to see who gets the highest score. Genius!.Version: 1.2

Teaches note recognitionDoes what I wanted it to do: Help my six year old recognize notes on the grand staff.Version: 2.2

Pretty goodIt makes learning site reading fun like a game. Quite addictive. Wish it was connected to my piano..Version: 2.0.2

Sight readWould like it to play note when you answer Thanks much.Version: 2.0.2

Great Learning ToolIf you are re-learning piano (like me), this tool is great. My sight reading has certainly improved. Good job!.Version: 2.1

Good tool to use to learn basic sight reading, thank you!....Version: 2.1

Great appWe've got the whole family doing it!.Version: 2.1

Great applicationIt helped me improve my note reading skill! It is great for increasing note recognition and speed. Highly recommended for any age..Version: 1.2

Works greatHave been using for 3 months and I've learned how to sight read and stay sharp using this app every day. It works if you use it. Don't use it and you loose it!! Easy to use and challenges me to try harder..Version: 2.2

The perfect app for learning to read musicAs an adult with a music background, this app makes relearning the notes and places on the staff less painful because its a game rather than a stack of 3x5 cards..Version: 2.1

Great appGet a lot for free. Being force to pick the right octaves is helpful. Much better than just typing the letter of the notes. I'm happy with the app, even if learning this stuff can be so frustrating!.Version: 1.2

MrExcellent app. Being able to see the history means I can see how well I've progressed and gives me inspiration to improve even more..Version: 2.1

Fast Repetition speed = fast learningThis app allows you, even in free version, to move quickly through notes, make mistakes and also see your accuracy increase. Just what I was looking for.Version: 2.2

Fantastic!!This is really helping me. I have tried other apps but find this one the most helpful. I especially like how they make you distinguish high notes to lower ones. Hence a C can be the middle C, or the high/ low C, etc. I have been doing it off and on for a few weeks now and see my improvements :) Awesome app!.Version: 1.2

Good appGood app Extra features would make it even better and a better log of progress not just a graph so you can aim to improve and beat previous score.Version: 2.3.0

Invaluable for beginnersI am an adult beginner, and have started taking piano lessons recently. Been using this app for the past two weeks, probably every other day. This is an absolutely fantastic app, and is helping me get comfortable with sight reading. Offers a tremendous degree of control to learn in small and manageable steps. For example I started on the first day with just white keys and one octave, and have progressed satisfactorily from there in a relatively short period of time. Highly recommend this app for beginners, and as a side note, also recommend ReadRhythm which is a great rhythm app..Version: 2.1

GreatIf you want to learn how to read a score this is a great app to start with!!.Version: 2.1

UsefulSingle note identification is helpful, but I'd like to see chords used as well. Also, I think getting rid of the ads shouldn't be a separate upgrade after the steep cost of enabling the settings. Thanks for the app though..Version: 1.2

Effective and FastMy sight reading has improved tremendously over the months. I just wish the note I hit, B3 for instance, would actually play a B3 instead of a B4 or B5 etc... Maybe I just need to put on headphones? Sometimes it plays what note I hit, randomly it won't. I guess I only care because I would like to try and attain perfect pitch, and be able to name the exact octave of a note upon hearing it. I'm sure others using the app understand... Other than that, this app blows the other sight reading apps outta the water!.Version: 2.1

So far so goodI haven't used this app too much, but so far I really like using it. It really helps me improve my sight reading..Version: 1.2

SightReading+All I wanted was something quick and easy to use to help improve my note recognition. This is perfect..Version: 2.2

Pretty goodGood and simple.. I have only used the basic functions of the free version on ipad. It looks like iphone version limits the keyboard to a smaller section.. I also like the historical plots.. Would be cool if they could integrate some 'guess the key signature testing' both ways , asks you the key or tells you the key and you have to put in the sharps or flats.. And if you could have it quiz you randomly or in the circle of fifths order(help get that into your head) .. If it had those features I think I would actually pay for this... 5-6 bucks just for 'guess this note' feature seems a bit steep...Version: 1.2

Fun AppFun App to use with students at school. Makes learning of notes and key recognition enjoyable..Version: 2.1

Sight reading appExcellent app. Just keep repeating to eradicate errors. Software seems to recognise weak spots in knowledge, representing the notes until it is learned..Version: 2.0.2

Great AppOk this is the easiest, most intuitive app to use. I use to play a little guitar, but I only knew the treble cleft. I have a piano at home and no matter how long I tried to memorize the bass cleft, I guess I never got motivated enough. We are talking years here. A couple of weeks ago I started to sing at church in harmony choir, and at home I tried to pick out my notes on the piano. Sometimes it took me a minute to figure out the note on the bass cleft. To make a long story short, after using this app after about a hour, I had the bass cleft memorized. It's a lot of fun, easy to use and worth the upgrade to get the other key signatures. Also it is nice to not have the notes written on the keyboard, which is part of the options. Ok an improvement to this app might be to have some recognizable melodies instead of just random or ascending descending notes, but regardless, this is the best app for learning your notes..Version: 2.0.1

ImpressedUsed this as a newbie to sight reading and three rounds in and it's getting fast, highly recommend this app..Version: 2.0.1

FranAt 50 I'm totally new to playing the piano and reading music. Some of the books and apps are aimed at children so at least this isn't. Finding it very helpful so far. ( why do I have to have a nickname?).Version: 2.1

Just what I NeedThis app is just what I need. I am pretty good at sight reading for the right hand but quite poor for the left hand. The practice this app allows is a big help..Version: 2.2

Very Useful!Playing a game is a great way to learn fundamentals! This is definitely going to help my piano skills as an adult learner who can't practice enough because of work travel! My iPad is far more portable than a keyboard!!!.Version: 2.1

Great for learning to read notesThis is very simple and you get better quickly and can track your progress..Version: 2.1

Keep it up!Twin boys who until now have struggled with their sight reading who are making leaps with this app! Frustration and elation reigns supreme!.Version: 2.1

Love itGreat learning tool, used this after reading a theory page on wikihow and am finally making real progress..Version: 2.1

ExcellentThis app is exactly what you need to brush up on sight reading or even if your new to music. Great for all ages..Version: 2.0.1

Great AppOnly complaint being it asks for a review too early; I've barely started using it. First impressions are good. It's easy and fun, belying its seemingly daunting graphics (I'm a total newby to sight reading). It uses the base and treble clefs at the same time which I hadn't anticipated, but now I'm glad of it. Every time I've taken the challenge so far I've got faster and more accurate, so I guess it's working :). It can go to much higher skill levels than my current capability so I guess this will help varying abilities. Anyway, I'm going back to try again - enjoy!.Version: 2.1

Perfect for my sonMy 7 year old just started piano this year. I've been trying to find something to supplement his theory and give him some more note recognition practice. Love this app! He loves playing it!.Version: 2.1

Memory refresherI have the free version (without ability to adjust settings). Useful in refreshing my memory, decades having passed since I read music. Size of keyboard due to limitations of tablet screen results on one-handed striking, which my brain seems to fine disconcerting. But cannot be helped, I think..Version: 2.1

HelpfulVery helpful for sight reading.Version: 1.2

Fantastic music appI did some research and a lot of people were very pleased with this app, and for good reason. This is the best of the music sight training apps I have found. I only had the free version for a few minutes before I purchased the full version. This will help you to recognize notes quickly. It has assisted my piano learning in a big way. Highly recommended..Version: 2.2

Good productSo far it is proving to be useful. When I'm sitting around with the iPad and I want to study piano but am to lazy to sit at the piano this is a useful tool. I would say (write) that it is worthwhile product..Version: 1.2

ExcellentOk, if you know how to read music don't buy this app. But if you learn everything by ear and want to learn how to read music this is your app. There is a free version out there. Try it first. It's basic but you will get the idea of how it works. I am still learning but I am improving. It will take a while for me to get through all the lessons but it is a far far better thing I do when I play this than any angry bird could teach me..Version: 2.1

Very GoodAs a mature person, decided to learn to read music so far this is the best app I have found for the job. Easy to use and speeds your reading. Very Good.Version: 2.0.1

Just what it says on the boxMy sight reading is so bad that although I can play piano learning anything new is a nightmare. So I decided to do something about it. This app seems to fit the bill completely and I was so impressed I bought the full version. I have quickly realised that my sight reading is even worse that I at first supposed, but will find this app handy as I can do the exercises anywhere and anytime and must eventually improve. Great app, thanks..Version: 2.1

Great toolGreat app for improving your sight reading and note recognition. Very simple presentation..Version: 2.1

Great AppThis is an excellent app to help students learn the piano/grand staff. The notes are not repeating like so many other apps. The randomness of the notes ensures you do not learn a pattern but the notes themselves. I would have rated this a 5 but the keyboard does not extend to the lowest notes of the F / Bass Cleff. Not really the developer's fault as they only have so much real estate along the side of the iPad. I've never had it hang or experienced any other glitches or bugs..Version: 2.1

Good appGreat help in improving my piano sight reading.Version: 2.0.1

Very goodI am impressed with this. I love the history tacking. It doesn't measure timing but is definitely helpful for starting out. Worth the space on your iPad :).Version: 1.2

Rapid learning curveI just started playing with this but I can see a very rapid improvement in my performance. It's fun to use. Recommended..Version: 2.2

Very easy to useSimple, easy and keeps you interested all the time...Version: 2.1

Great app for readingI love this app, super helpful reading tool that is clearly helping with note recognition in a short time. Recommended to treble/bass musicians....Version: 2.1

Just a NoteLovely little app for getting your ear in as looking at music has no meaning to me except for the words. Now I am starting to hear what the notes sound like that go with the words..Version: 2.0.2

Almost perfectGreat customization options: choosing key signatures, note range, whether to include accidentals, whether to label keyboard notes, all fantastic. But one flaw that makes it annoying enough that I don't like to use it: you can't choose what part of the keyboard to show on your screen. It's divided into 3 set sections, and the default middle section is set with middle C shifted 3 notes to the left of center. I want to have the app mirror what I see when I sit down at the piano, typically lined up with middle C, so I can reinforce my auto response, not relearn it. If the keyboard slider could be customized to show the desired note range onscreen, it would be 5 stars plus!.Version: 2.1

Great AppUse it in my music studio! Students love it.Version: 2.1

Love itYou will love it..Version: 2.2

Sight readingMuch more fun for young children and adults alike for learning, rather than playing from a book that has no response. A great app. Thank you..Version: 2.1

ZeuI loved it, it helped me a lot! That's the fastest way to read music!.Version: 2.0

Finally learning bass clefA friendly little program that has everything you need for finally getting the sight reading down. I play harp, so don't need sharps and flats, but I was going nowhere fast until I got the drills in this app..Version: 2.2

Good app for freeNice feature is the full keyboard. Does not always register note played which is annoying. Good app for absolute beginner. You need to purchase full version to get keys other than c major..Version: 1.2

Good for learnersWould be nice If it could remember from where you left off..Version: 2.1

Easy to use, good for learning notesI'm learning piano and struggle with working out bass notes. This ap helps a lot.Version: 2.1

Music note readingThis has already shown its value with my piano students. Shame it is not on the iPhone. Well done to those responsible..Version: 2.1

Very goodI would have given 5 stars but i find the keys on this app are a bit too small, so errors are easy to do. But apart from this it is a very good app, and in time i think it will help with note recognition..Version: 2.1

Great appReally good, unlike other sight reading apps, the piano lay out really helps you learn the notes with the keys. Very helpful..Version: 2.1

Really goodI'm really impressed with the usefulness of this program. Definitely recommended..Version: 2.0.1

Sight readingReally good!.Version: 2.0.3

MrBrilliant. Liked it as soon as I tried it. At least it's free. It's exactly what I have been looking for for a long time. Will see if the catch is worth purchasing if it comes..Version: 2.1

AwesomeI started from average 3.45 and my highest out of three weeks practice it became 1.96!.Version: 2.1

Really helpsReally helps to reinforce. Stops you counting up the lines with mnemonics egbdf etc. particularly with the keyboard helps identify position and seems to learn and then teach you accordingly..Version: 2.0.1

Good AppPretty good, it's very helpful, I haven't played the piano in a while, this app really helps brush off the dust. I'd also recommend it to beginners..Version: 1.2

It's greatIt's simple, easy, and gets the job done. Once you get the hang of it, it's smooth sailing. Though some people may have a problem if they don't understand basic measures. (EGBDF, etc.).Version: 2.2

Great Learning Tool! This is a great app, 53 years of age with no music back ground, this gives a great experience to learn without even trying!.Version: 2.2

Superb for beginners and simple to useGood explanation of keys in paid version Tyrosbob.Version: 2.0.2

ReviewThis app is exactly what I need. So far it is doing just what I want..Version: 2.0.1

Surprisingly effectiveMy sight reading speed and accuracy have improved dramatically in a short space of time..Version: 1.2

Good app.I've only played this a few times but it seems like a really good app for increasing the speed of your sight reading..Version: 2.0

This is really helping meSight reading is my Achilles heel and has been for a long time. This app is really helping my speed and accuracy..Version: 2.1

Note finderI use this app frequently as a quick and easy way to learn the notation. I liked the app enough to pay for the full upgrade. It is useful, but, an extra payment is required to get rid of the adverts, which seems a bit mean on the part of the designer. I recommend this to anyone who is learning the notes on the stave..Version: 2.1

Good free music reading appThis is helping me readily identify the correct pitch. I plan on upgrading to learn more keys in the future, but the free version gives me a very good starting place, and a good picture of what the paid version may be like. I wish more developers would offer free versions of their apps, so I can decide if I'd like to pay money for them or not..Version: 1.2

Seems to do the trickOnly just started using it, but making progress already..Version: 2.1

NotesThis is a great program to help learn the notes on a scale..Version: 2.2

Sight reading musicAbsolutely brilliant. Great for kids and adults..Version: 2.2

Helpful app :)Good for learning to read quickly.Version: 2.0.1

This is amazing!!!First we wanted to try it out, and then it just went bananas! I got totally addicted to it. I definitely recommend this to you. So if you're looking for a piano sight reading app, you should get this one. AND THIS APP IS FREE!!!!!!!!!!! ISN'T THAT AWESOME OR NOT????!!!!!!!!.Version: 2.0.2

Sight reading AppBrilliant, thank you, in bed at mo, unable to use my piano, just found the app and enjoying using it. Clever idea, let's face it music is a complicated subject this makes it fun..Version: 2.2

Very usefulNice and simple..Easy to use & clean layout. Recommended for everyone! I wish they upgrade and added a game that goes with this to improve our sight reading, other than that great app!.Version: 2.1

Learning to playMy daughter and I started taking piano lessons about one month ago. This app has been a tremendous help. It is fun to do and we are learning the notes on the grand staff quickly and easily. Highly recommend using it..Version: 2.1

Really goodGreat app!.Version: 2.1

JoeyI used to play classical and modern tunes but it has been so long I didn't remember very many keys on the keyboard. With this simple beginning, I am quickly refreshing my memory. It's really quite fun! Can't wait to actually play a tune..Version: 2.0.2

Great help in music readingThis is a great apps in helping me to read and understand sheet music. It is a must to buy the settings, and the advert block..Version: 1.2

Very useful....Version: 2.1

The missing linkThis is what i have been needing! An interactive app that helps me actually gain speed as i learn the notes both visually and auditorily. Adaptible in range of notes so you can start out with just a few notes at first. Love it. Upgraded from free version within minutes!.Version: 1.2

Great learning toolThis is a fun, easy to use ap that helps everyone recognize musical notes. The random notes force you to think harder than when you're reading a song..Version: 2.0.2

Great music appThis is great for practicing sight reading for yourself and also students..Version: 2.0.1

Simple yet effectiveThis a very simple set up for wanting to improve sight reading. I've played the piano a long time and never like having to practice sight reading until now- that's why I'm still not good at it. After just having this app a day and using it for a half hour I'm already improved..Version: 2.0.1

FantasticBest app I have found for sight reading - love all the settings to really target areas. Thanks.Version: 2.0.1

Great refresherI already know how to play the piano but this has provided me a great refresher for the basic part of the keyboard which is primarily used for melodies. Also, I will use it to speed up my response time and to help my daughter learn the piano. Thanks for a great app..Version: 2.2

Good for learning how to read/identify notesI am a beginner piano student and find identifying notes relatively slowing down my learning and frustrating. Installed this one day ago and finding it quite useful to learn more of the grand staff..Version: 1.2

PianotecThis a an excellent free app to practise music sight reading. Highly recommended to all music students!.Version: 2.0.1

MissMost enjoyable from the word go. If you like challenges and want to be hot at sight reading, then this is for you. :D.Version: 2.1

Another happy adult beginner!I've only ever played treble clef instruments--clarinet, classical guitar, soprano recorder. Now approaching 60, I decided it was time to study piano. The ingrained habits of a lifetime, however, have been a stubborn barrier to reading the bass clef. This app has been a tremendous help. I even like the off-center middle C, as it forces me to think relationally in a more complex way. Working with a two-octave span means my drills cover most of the notes in the pieces I can play right now. The short sessions mean I can pick up my iPad at odd moments, e.g., standing inline or waiting for an appointment, and put them to good use. The app has enough flexibility to grow with me, and enough simplicity that managing it isn't a pain in the neck..Version: 2.1

Great! Confused by octave keybord thoGreat little app. Have used 'Fastkeys' on laptop with mouse, which is good, but this is great! Just one thing..me being stupid?......I don't see the purpose of the octave keyboard below -sorry. Otherwise - great for practice..Version: 2.0.2

Good practiceA good way of practising reading music without having to plonk on wrong notes!.Version: 2.2

Very goodGreat beginner sight trainer..Version: 2.2

It works wellA really useful app. How did anyone get good at sight reading before ?.Version: 2.1
