✓ Mum of 4 year oldsI've also got Injini's Game Suite. Both this and the Game Suite are very aesthetically pleasing, which seems to be important for my 4 year old twins with some learning delays. (They are not talking.) They return to these apps when others have fallen by the wayside. I read a comment about the app not being phonetic but I find that my 2, despite their learning difficulties, can sort out letter names and sounds. Besides, I'm not too sure how beneficial to a child's learning to read and write a rigid approach to phonics is. Anyway, the important thing is, my 2 like the app and are learning loads from it. It has simple, uncluttered and pleasing qualities, (such as the clicky stars) and is very well designed for all children's learning, not just those with learning difficulties. For example, the 'rewards' are in the 'doing', not in collecting stupid, disassociated stickers after the activity. Just one other thought: I would dearly like a writing app that taught cursive script to younger children. If there were an additional option to write the sight words in a joined up cursive script, I would rate this app 5+. A simple cursive script might help those who have a degree of dyspraxia. Although, all children may benefit from learning joined up handwriting from the beginning. This way the word is written and seen as a block (as well as being made up of individual phonemes.).Version: 1.1
✓ Another hit by NCSoftBy the same developers that brought us Injini, Write My Name is an amazing app which helps children not only learn to write their letters but sets the ground work for learning many of the sight words needed to for a child to be a fluent reader. Unlike some of the other learn to write apps Write My Name has an easy to use interface so children are able to focus on their writing rather than becoming frustrated by constant correction. Additionally, There is a "tags" section where parents and caregivers can create special words for the child to practice writing such as the child's name, which is a great way for children to prepare for kindergarten. ✓ TracyClark614I love, love, love this app! My daughter loves that it is her voice she hears when she traces her name. This is the MOST motivating feature. The only reason I refrained from giving it the last star is I wish there was a way to customize all of the voice overs. Within the customization, it would be beneficial if the child could hear their voice making the letter sound for phonetically regular words and name letters for non phonetic ones. ✓ Wonderful app for kids with difficultyWorking on printing skills is always a tear-filled endeavour at our house. My daughter has autism with fine motor delays, but is too old and advanced to work on typical toddler-type letter tracing apps. This app is great! She independently "wrote" 16 words, several letters and a few sentences we made up ourselves. No tears, and she wanted to continue! It's easy to use and personalize. ✓ Most successful letter tracing app so far for my SN 6 year oldA great little app as we've come to expect from Injini. My 6 year old SN daughter LOVES this, it is highly engaging. She is definitely using this much more than other letter tracing apps I have used. The "my name tags" section is especially useful as its customizable. The app has also had a very positive resonse from other kids in her class. One child with sensory issues finds the (optional) music very soothing and he stays engaged with the app for a much longer time than without. You can also record your own voice speaking the words. Finger paint mode traces the exact movements of the finger or stylus and shows it at the end with the shadow letters removed, you can then capture a screen shot and save for later comparison of progress. My only negatives are firstly, that you can only have 36 tags, which are available at any one time, and they are all accessible all the time. For example I am using them at home to learn to write family names and then school are using it for her words of the week. She is so engaged by the family names, its hard to keep her on track with the school work, however I have no way to hide the tags I don't want to use at that time. The only way is to delete them every time and then remake them, which is frustrating as I initally recorded her family speaking their own names. Secondly it would be good to be able to capture photos directly from camera instead of having to save and upload them or even better be able to upload direct images from a search engine..Version: 1.1

✓ WORTH IT!!!!!This is one of the over looked apps for 3 to 5 year olds. It helped my daughter learn much faster and better when she can trace here name and it talks to you. She is now able to understand which way to trace letters more correcly than before. She always could trace her letters good but free hand would get her ( S ) side ways etc. Had hard time with here lower case letters when trying to write free hand. ✓ Great tracing appI would have to say, so far, this is the best writing/tracing app I have found. I have a son with special needs and writing is an area he needs quite a bit of work on. I found that this app not only got his attention, but kept it through the WHOLE alphabet. Then onto writing his own FIRST and LAST name. It is well worth the $4. ✓ Great app!We love this app! My son is almost 4 with high functioning autism and speech delay. I just showed this app to him for the first time today while his ABA therapists were here. He got through all of the letters (both upper and lowercase) and did some of the words too. He caught on fast and did a great job with tracing the letters. I have it set on the fingerpaint mode so we can see exactly how he is doing. He also repeats the words or letters after they are said. I can't wait to see how much he learns with this app! ✓ My niece loves this!My niece has been playing the injini games and now plays with this app. She has a bit of love/hate for it because she gets so frustrated trying to trace the letters, but she is motivated to keep trying to write her name and her friends' names. On the name tags, there is a camera picture that appears to take a screenshot, which I would love, but so far, the "pictures" are black screens. ✓ Doesn’t work anymoreI have used this app many times and love it as an option for the kids I work with. The past couple of months I haven’t been able to add any names. I am able to type in the child’s name and record the name however when I go to confirm it never connects and finishes. it just spins repeatedly. I have tried re-booting the iPad, deleting and reinstalling the app and I have checked to see if it has been updated but nothing has worked. Any ideas??.Version: 1.2.7

✓ SUPER APP FOR SPECIAL KIDSMy 11 y/o daughter who is autistic and delayed to approx 3-5 yrs would draw but not do letters. I found this app has everything needed to keep her attention. Nice sound, simple animations for completing a letter, and easy navigation between choices with the large tabs. I only had to help her finger follow the stars once and she figured it out. Fantastic idea of name tags with the ability to add pictures and recorded names. She loves finding a picture of Daddy and Mommy and doesn't hesitate doing the letters to get an "Daddy loves you" when she's done. She navigates through this app independently and keeps working at it! I do have to say that I wouldn't have tried this app if I hadn't found it at the introductory price. All special education apps are more expensive, why I don't know, so I tend to avoid them and only buy the cheaper ones that will teach the same skills. We don't need to map their achievements and progress with the app, it just needs to be like this. A perfect app for a young child or a child with extra learning hurdles. Great thinking and fantastic application. Keep them coming! Could this be updated so the name tag could have the voice recoding edited without redoing the tag?
