My First AAC by Injini for Positive User Reviews

Great appI am loving this app. My 2.5 yr old is just starting out trying to see if this is an avenue she is capable of. Perfect starter app to get her going. Plenty of words to choose from and can add your own pictures is perfect for personalizing it to her wants. I would love to see a place in general settings where I can block the (gear) settings page from showing up at all. She does manage to hit it and pull up the other pages when we are trying to focus on the two choices. Love that I can lock page for this reason..Version: 1.1

VERY Good!So far, I have been impressed with My First AAC. I am an SLP working with an Early Childhood, Kindergarten population, and have students with apraxia, autism and other disabilities. They have communicated successfully right away and I have recommended My First AAC to their classroom teachers, as they now have iPads also. It's great that you can now add your own photos. I plan on adding photos of classroom centers for students to choose from. The voices are nice and natural also. This app is a winner and a great value!.Version: 1.1

Perfect for Beginning AAC UsersAs the assistive technology specialist for our county for 35 years, I have been waiting for this for a long time! Uncluttered, no more than 8 choices at a time, the ability to individualize each icon and page and simple to use. Also, the voices are great. My students find this app very appealing and will actually wait to take turns to use it! :).Version: 1.1.2

Very good appGreat first AAC for my two year old with ASD. Please make this available on the iPhone so he can communicate more easily on the go..Version: 1.1.9

The best aac for little ones! After trying several acc apps for our little one with suspected apraxia we found my first aac and immediatly fell in love with the price and features. It is so easy to customize and easy for little hands to manuever. My daughter loves using her "talker" to fill gaps and ease frustration. Great app!.Version: 1.0

Lovin' my first AAC!Thank you so much for this fantastic application. I share an iTunes account with another mom, and we bought it when you had reduced the price for the A4CWSN app party. Without a doubt, probably our best purchase so far! Her son is non verbal, and doing fantastic with learning to navigate the program, and will have a much easier time now that you've upgraded to include our own photos. I have a 3yr old with delayed speech, and while we used this app, he was easily able to navigate the program. He was able to express himself with ease. I also have a 14mos old who was actually picking up on how to use this app as well. The price point is fantastic, even when not on sale, and well worth the money. Thank you so much for creating this app. Next on our wishlist is Injini. We have the lite version and cannot wait to purchase the full version! Again, thank you..Version: 1.1

Powerful, kid friendly, high quality beginning AAC!Okay, I was slow to understand the treasure of Injini apps, but after hearing enough people rave about Child Development, we took the plunge when it went on sale and were amazed. Well, when I heard they had an AAC app, I had to see how it would measure up to the other early AAC apps. The simple design with great thought to layout and access are very user and programming friendly. Even my husband was interested in looking it over. The color was welcome and inviting and the voices very high quality. A hearty endorsement from this mom with 20+ years experience in AAC!.Version: 1.1.2

Excellent AppWe have a small child with Angelman Syndrome. This has been a wonderful app for him to communicate with us. Easy to use. We customize with our own photos and voice, yet they also have a wide variety of icon artwork we use as well. Thanks!.Version: 1.1.8

You will find our contact information within FAQS section in our injini.net page (if you click on “Developer Website”, it will direct you to our homepage). Thank you!.Version: 1.1.7

Great AAC AppMy First AAC is a great entry level AAC app. I am using with a nonverbal student that is three years old. Love the clean board layouts that uses the pictures and signs to represent the communication. The catergoy layouts make it simple to find the pictures you are looking for. Great to see that the board is able to be customized for male vs females and scaled down from 8 choices to just 2. Anyone looking for an entry level AAC app that is reasonably priced should consider this app. Keep up the great work Injini!!.Version: 1.1

A winnerAnother winner from the team that made Injini! This is a perfect intro to AAC for toddlers - great graphics, sound and concept organization. Nothing like it out there. 5 stars? How about ******************!.Version: 1.0

Another great app by Injini! This app is great for starting out using an AAC app. My 4yo son with Autism loves it. It is very easy to navigate and all of the words are clearly spoken. This app has actually helped my son start using some phrases like "I want more", "all done" and "no"..Version: 1.1.1

Great! So easy to understand and customize ! I love the colorful background and how it looks more like a game than an AAC app. Excited to see what my little guy can learn from it!.Version: 1.3.0.2

Good for beginnersI really like the new upgrade - being able to add my own pictures is a plus. Just wish I could delete buttons, too....or just be able to add more than 29. I use with lots of different kids .... Those with autism, developmental delays, intellectual disabilities, and more. Really like the animation on yes/no and more, etc. I like the price, too!.Version: 1.1

Nice intro to AACThis is a nice and friendly first AAC for special needs kids. Starting out, many AAC programs can be quite overwhelming and daunting for little people. This one is worth a look and easy to play around with and navigate. The images are not too flashy and don't detract from the app's purpose - to give a voice to those who are struggling to find theirs. It's a fun starting point, with coaching..Version: 1.1.2

Love this app! This app gave my son a voice during a recent circle time at preschool. I customized a screen with the days topic, and my son was so proud to really participate ... And the other kids were in awe! I'd give 10 stars if I could. Wish the printables were still available!.Version: 1.1.3

Great App!When I saw a new app by the makers of Injini, I knew I had to check it out. I was not disappointed!! What a great communication tool for our nonverbal daughter. I love the categories, colorful pictures and the male/female recorded voices. Within the categories there are many pictures you can choose from and with the updated version you can even select your own pictures. I also appreicate the opportunity to be able to record our own voices on some of the pictures. All around great first communicaton app. Highly recommended and for a great price!.Version: 1.1

Love this APP RebeccahI'm a speech therapist and this is an amazing app to introduce augmentative communication. I use this with my non-verbal and minimally verbal clients. Parents have been amazed by how easy it is to use. I love the kids voices and pictures paired with signs! The recent update to include your own photos is wonderful! This is a must have for any speech therapist!!.Version: 1.1

Wonderful app now that it's fixedAfter updating to iOS7, I wasn't able to tailor the app to the needs of my student. It took them a while, but they finally updated it! This is a wonderful app for those students who are just beginning to learn an AAC. You can add your own pictures, and move the pictures around as needed. At first I thought you could only have 1 or 8 pictures, but then realized that I could delete the number of pictures to get to the desired number of choices. For example, if I only want 4 choices, I can delete 4 pictures ( out of the 8 that show up) . How the student is able to transfer to another app when he gets older remains to be seen, but this will be a good start..Version: 1.1.6
