Clearly done by a lover of Poe, the art work captures the mood and with some brilliant cross referencing for Poe fans (Check out the pendulum of the clock in Masque Of The Red Death) this is great for newcomers and die-hards. The sounds and images breathe new life into the writing and the production value of the app as a whole is sky high. The one flaw with the app is the amount of content available. I would love to see it fleshed out into a slightly more complete volume of Poe's work. Not all of it needs to be beautifully illustrated, even if you were to include his poems in the "Extras" menu as simple scrolling text boxes, it'd be a great way of turning iPoe into a one-stop-shop!.Version: 2.1

✓ Could be more interactiveThis is a really great app. It is certainly an interesting way of reading Poe's work. The graphics are great - although if anyone is a teacher (like me) of teenage boys then there are a few somewhat exposed women at times. But it is really well laid out. My only real criticism is that I expected it to be more interactive -clicking to discover clues etc - it's part of the way there. If they were completing one of these for The Purloined Letter I would really hope for more opportunity to interact. There are some good interactive moments in this (the beating heart under the floor boards, Annabelle Lee is a good one too) but I hope they include more in their second edition of work..Version: 2.2

✓ Poe for the uniniatedAs a near life long 'fan' of Poe I found this app very enjoyable. The music that can be either played over your reading the story or left off, is atmospheric. The graphics are vivid in the use of colours and depict the right level of 'scare factor' to accompany the storyline. I have another Poe 'game' on one of my laptops which centres on observation and discovery of elements from within Poe's stories. I would doing this an injustice to compare them.
