Slip on slippersWent to my local shop, none on display! Poor service. Had to order and collect, store is a 5 minute walk from my flat, and delivery next day which is fine, but not having one pair of slip on slippers amongst, probably twenty plus different slippers is poor. I like M&S and have used them for over 50 years, shame they forget the needs of their regular and undemanding customers. Second moan. Can’t get the dark blue/black lounger pants they used to do. The ones with plain bottoms, elasticated waist and 29”/30” legs. Instead they have a jogging type bottom which are totally different and why oh why is everything slim fit? Keeping in touch from abroad.I always use M&S to send cards, flowers, hampers etc. to my family and especially to my Mother in the UK (as I live in Australia). Despite the occasional online difficulty, I find the ability to be able to do this online to be absolutely wonderful. Good serviceVery pleased with M&S food and home wares, please carry on. Your women’s clothing hasn’t been so exciting in recent years - it has been really great in the past, I’ve had some lovely things which I still have. Maybe you shouldn’t have departments like Autograph etc. Just make the general range really good and exciting. Clothing from long sleeved thermal vests in bright and exciting colours, through the chic-est little jackets in faux silk, all lovely. And we all love your underwear, wouldn’t go anywhere else. But, you need to keep quality up. Some jumpers etc recently have been poor and thin quality, which I wouldn’t buy. H&M eg produce more stylish jumpers with reasonable fabrics . I’d rather pay a bit more for better quality. We don’t want to see M&S diminish definitely not!!! One thing I loathe about contemporary shopping are the boutiques within stores. I want to be able to go and look for eg raincoats and see the whole range, or jumpers or trousers and see the whole range. There could be a Per Una range within eg trousers ( which I think there is already), M&S aren’t too bad in displaying and keeping all together, but it needs to be noted. You don’t have to copy John Lewis or Selfridges - it is on the whole too confusing shopping for clothes in these places..Version: 7.2

M&S WebsiteI am at present in hospital with Coronavirus and vulnerable now and when I saw the offer of 20% off jeans, as I have lost a lot of weight due to this virus, I wanted to order different sizes in jeans. However no where on website does it say about being able to return via courier, only return to store. I called the customer help line, waited nearly 20 mins for a response that I needed that you go onto Hermes website & can return via them. There is no where on your website that says that. It needs to be updated specially when the government have told people not to make any trips to shops unless essential. With the information that I received from one of your customer care team I was able to make the purchase as without that I would not have been able to..Version: 7.9

IonaMarks and Spencer’s ARE a TRADITION, l believe they are working very hard “behind the scenes” to develop their Buying and Marketing strategies to appeal to all age groups. This is ESSENTIAL if they are to NOT just to Survive but THRIVE on the High Street and online too. Their customer base has, in many cases, wrongly, been seen as “over 40’s” I believe they are fast responding to a NEED to appeal to younger age groups who will then remain their future customers. Per Una started well, dipped and let’s see it pick up again and let’s have a “Junior Per Una” for BOTH sexes (NO GENDER NEUTRAL PLEASE) from age 5 - 13! Now that would go down well! Busy parents are looking more and more for “ONE STOP SHOPS” Huge gap in the market here M & S! Would also ❤️ to see you develop more on the Organic food side! Even developing idea of weekly delivery of Organic Fruit/Veg/Salad boxes, another huge gap in the market which Waitrose & Tesco, YES!!! Tesco are competing to fill. I try to eat as much Organic food as possible as l have a serious issue with the level of Pesticides sprayed onto fields that enters the food chain and then US! SO! Bits missing from website featuresUnlike other reviewers, I’ll stick to reviewing the app and steer clear of ranting on how brill M&S is as a brand and how great their steaks are (🤷🏻‍♂️). The app is very easy to navigate and has a less “busy” feel to it than the M&S mobile website which I have used exclusively up to now. You can access your account and look at both current and previous orders and track deliveries (strikingly similar to the mobile web pages). I’ve yet to order anything through the app but navigating and searching for items is very easy and surprisingly better than the mobile website which I thought was very good anyway. A couple of shortfalls I have found are highlighting matching items and showing “you might also like” sections. You get these on the mobile website pages but in the app it’s purely focussed on the item you have selected. All in all worth downloading but longer use will determine if a keep using it or whether I revert back to their very good mobile website..Version: 6.5.9

Using OCADO for the 1st time-: WOW!I had been using Asda home shopping for groceries, over a few months & a few disappointments & over familiarity from mostly male drivers/deliveries? It was a swift move to the great Tesco trial - de de de de de deeeeerrrr! LOL!! Mostly very good & mostly professional- however, as it had been with Asda, I was already feeling vulnerable & so when 1 of the drivers leered at me (I had had to answer the door in my nightwear) - he made me feel all wrong & self conscious. It was during warm weather & I was covered up but . . . Sorry = Too much info? But these things REALLY MATTER. I have had to endure some more of these types of thing but . . . I tried Ocado last week. Even though the Driver clearly had some kind of mental health challenge? He was so sweet & charming, immediately reassured me about ALL of the chosen goods being available, no1 else from aforementioned large popular Supermarkets has ever done that!! Unhappy with store choice of dressesWhy are these dresses not in local stores ? I am constantly disappointed with the choice of clothes I store for myself and the hundreds of 60/70 year old women who for the first time in their lives have money to spend on themselves. ThanksDear Marks and Spencer’s, For the last 15 years, I have not known anything in my wardrobe except your clothes. There is a strong reason why. I am a curvy woman(am proud) and was shocked how the high street retailers were stocked well for such woman. I e tried every single clothes maker and was utterly disappointed how they have never considered the likes of 16 size woman. But marks never disappointed. It’s not just making the sizes available, it’s also how marks has made then fashionable, reasonably priced with wonderful variety. I just know exactly what am buying and what I fit into without even trying them !! My daughter also is a huge fan after having visited the shop umpteen number of times with me. Not just clothes, the affordability of food is better esp 2 for 4 salads and fruits. Keep up the good work. No wonder, your name is still the British fav esp among men and woman..Version: 6.2.1

Shame there’s no favourites optionThis is a good working app, checkout is fine, good payment options and great having sparks card on you phone. My only reason for not giving this 5 stars is because you have to add your liked items into you bag, then, if you buy something, unless you buy all of what in you whole bag, you need to first empty it,- which is really annoying as you then have to re-search all of your liked potential purchases all over again. A favourites option would be great here and make this app really good, and would remind the customers of the things you would otherwise bought, but had forgotten because of emptying the bag every time you make a purchase..Version: 8.2.1

Waste of timeI am buying something for a friend and instead of accepting the new address, I had to go through the process at least five times. Then the credit card registered was not accepted. There is nothing wrong with the card. However to register a different card was also a process that had to be repeated several times before it went through. You must lose a lot of business because of people giving up. I gave it one last shot, which worked, otherwise U would have given up And another thing, the fact that I have to give a nickname (mist of which are already taken) to my message is even more irritating.Version: 7.0

Same as alwaysI have reviewed M&S and the online shopping experience several times and it never changes. I love this store and the quality of classic items like the leather ladies gloves I just purchased. I know they’ll be perfect because I have two pairs already in different colours. They last for years and improve with age and I wouldn’t think to buy them anywhere else. I really enjoy ordering online. It saves the potential disappointment of going to the store and finding my size to be out of stock. The orders always arrive within a few days, usually two, and only twice have I ever had to queue behind more than a couple of people to collect my order. Christmas does get very busy which is to be expected. The staff at M&S are always very helpful and knowledgeable and are particularly lovely at my local store in Bury, Lancashire. The other day I was in with my friend who was purchasing ladies pyjamas. The young man who helped her was sweet and sensitive, a credit to the brand. I don’t like all the clothes at M&S but I can always find something special that my friends compliment. Not good dealsAs a frequent customer I am often surprised by the lack of personalized offers per customer by M&S. Also the offers on the app are not descriptive, meaning when you end up selecting a deal you find that the things you want to buy are actually not covered by the offer when you go to the next page on the app. At such high prices you would expect M&S to be customer centric but they are not. Like even the 5 pound off over 35 offer is senseless - if you end up doing grocery less than 20 pound every other day cause you don’t want to carry around heavy grocery all the time then you can’t even use that basic offer, and M&S knows that. CheckoutI call at M&S yesterday 24th April, after working a 10hr shift , I was feeling rather tired, but still called at my local M&S at woolshop Halifax for 40 minutes, on putting my shopping on the belt I asked for a bag for my fish, the lady on the till was lovely she was going to get me a brown paper bag, I didn’t want to put her out as they were queuing behind me, then I put my card in wrong, then I didn’t have enough bags and still this lovely lady kept smiling and been ever so friendly, when she mentioned about doing a review on line, I thought it’s the least I can do, so here I am saying thank you to the lovely lady called Michelle y 10 out of 10 for Michelle keep smiling and making shoppers life a little nicer. Christmas shopI went to a actual M&S store this morning which was a few miles away. I wanted to look around and get a few bits and try a few items on. I could only find one style of bralette in the store and it looked small so took a larger size. This was much too tight for me. I have decided to order another in a bigger size as I did like the design but where were all the others. There was nobody at all about to ask. Then I went to find presents and was glad we had gone to the store instead of just ordering online. It was so pretty to see all the Christmas items. A emergency phone call from family halted my shopping experience and we had to go check out and get off. The assistant wrapped the cups I had got and was very polite. On the way out I spotted some lovely pants for myself so I am also going to order those. I don’t get out much so will be returning before Christmas for another shop. My local food store of M&S doesn’t have as much as the big stores in regards to clothes and gifts which I visit every week. Problems with the M&S appHave tried unsuccessfully for two weeks now to get resolution on the fact the app. no-longer works on either my iphone7 or new iPad. The app has been removed and reinstalled 10 times, the password has been changed five times. My phones cache has been wiped and a full reset done. The message I keep getting is “these details are not recognised”. If I try to re-register it says “these details already exist.” Yet I can go online and order with my details with no problem. I have made seven phone calls re this to M&S all promising technical will get back to me, no-one did. When it was suggested my phone and iPad were at fault I spent an hour on the phone to apple technical and they said the problem was the app as there is nothing wrong with the phone of iPad. Up until two weeks ago I used the app to order all the time. I got an email saying if you used the app to order I’d get £25 off, but because I can’t get into the app I can’t take advantage of the offer. I have even called my local store to see if they can contact someone internally that might get back to help me. It is ridiculous. In store told me my email was not on the system, yet I get emails all the time, in the past two weeks I’ve had emails about orders, emails about deliveries. Up until two weeks ago the app worked fine, I used it all the time. It appears to me there is a data input problem at the M&S end but no-one will check this out and get back to me. MrHi can't fault your food the £10 thick cut stake is soooooo unbelievably delicious. Sale product listing.I have just wasted approx an hour looking through the SALE items you have listed, and almost without exception ,the sale price advertised only applies to 1 odd size or colour, and the rest of the sizes and colours are the normal price…but this is not obvious until you have scrolled through the other sizes and colour ways. ..and to add insult to injury the same items are shown several times to make it look like there are ,many more items than there actually are.!!! Wouldn’t it be more honest to show the sale items that are IN STOCK rather than listing all normal price stock and pretending there are lots of sale lines.? Bit hit and missSo I can order extra deep mattress covers ( but not my first choice as they are out of stock - but at least they tell you at the point of choosing ) and pick them up from our local store tomorrow. A first time retailer app user!Cannot recommend the newly discovered M&S shopping app more highly. For a total novice it is a very easy app to use with great visuals particularly in the area of ladies underwear which is what I wish to buy. As a Pom who has lived overseas in Australia for years I have missed many things but in particular my M&S undies, along with the delicious food which sadly cannot be covered by an app! Hence, I am so pleased I can now browse through the entire M&S range and look at all your latest designs as if I was in store. Then at the flick of a button purchase and quickly receive my goods. BrittleGreat selection of gifts as you'd expect from M&S, the App design is nice and clean and relatively simple to follow, but the checkout is where it gets let down. The checkout menu options are not always clear or intuitive, it doesn't accept foreign phone numbers, the address field refers only to street number, with no indication of where to put street and town names, although the postal code search seems good. The little red error message boxes (for delivery dates and credit card info for e.g.) should be modified to allow one to tap on it so as to take you to the relevant field and make any corrections required, rather than having to sift through the displayed page to find what needs changed. Short necks. Thin trousers.Not everyone has a short neck. I think you are guilty of evading this consequence when you make clothes with a standard height neck. Not all one size fits all people., Please consider this as a piece of positive feedback. I am so pleased with many of your clothes, but there are one or two hitches with micro fleeces and PJ’s. My experience with your pyjamas is that they are of lesser quality, they usually go into holes or wear out very quickly. Especially the trouser part of them. I seem to have a lot of tops but only about 3 PJ trousers. Unless someone is stealing them off the line (which I’m sure one pair has been) but something is making them threadbare in an exponential way. I have been shocked by this occurrence on several occasions now when buying them. Please stop cutting corners. The public rely on your steadfastness in creating items that are both good quality, functional and beautiful. You’ve spoiled us: and now we still expect the same virtues. Great app, just one niggleHi, love the app, search, filters, product photos/videos, size info, product info and customer reviews, all of this information make my online purchases super simple, only one niggle, as I’m buying I occasionally go to the basket to check how many items I’ve selected, basket is super clear too, BUT there is no obvious ‘back to the search I’ve just spent a few moments carefully creating, discovered selecting Home does take me back to my search, which in a little counter intuitive, as usually the Home button takes users back to the Home page, perhaps when customers are in a section and checking their shopping baskets the Home button could be relabelled Back to search. Not efficient enoughFirstly I am a big M&S fan, love the brand and shop there very regularly. But their App and website I feel are inadequate. The app has issues with the filtering options on a page where it doesn’t respond to what you choose? When it eventually does, if you then select to clear the “filters” it doesn’t do this and continues to default back to the last filter option you chose. Very frustrating. I also don’t feel the “search” functionality is as responsive as it could be with the options it returns? Plus, all of the merchandise/items that are available in store, are not always available to view online or via the app- it’s more limited. The app freezes a lot, especially during sales and Sparks Card events such as 20% off (like tonight for instance!) please get this right M&S, it’s so disappointing..Version: 6.5.1

Irritating promo itemsEach time I use this app, it opens on a screen of promotion items. Lovely. Then you click on the item and “this item is out of stock. Here are some other favourites”!!!! Update your promotions screen when items have run out or are only left in one obscure size. May not be real-time updates, but at least update daily or every few hours. And if you are going to say “here are a few other favourites” show some! Instead we are left having followed a link to an item that is out of stock and shown no other suggestions or similar items. As usual with shopping apps, give me the website every time! The size selection and confirmation is clunky, although I will give credit for it defaulting to the in stock sizes..Version: 6.7.4

Hard workWhere to start with the problems I encountered? The most annoying omission is a “back” button on most pages. When you view your bag contents the only way I could see to continue shopping was to start again filling in all the filters. I had to do this three times because the app waits for the checkout page before telling you an item is out of stock and remove it from your bag. This happened twice in checking out. To release an app in this condition shows little regard for customers. I might try the web pages next time but at the moment the thought of trying to find anything else I want from M&S is driving me to your competitors..Version: 7.19

They are working flat out to meet the ever changing needs of customers and they give us quality clothes, many with a real designer and classy edge at reasonable prices. Trying to be all things to all people doesn’t workStormwear Jeans shorter length - just bought another pair of jeans from your stormwear range but don’t appear in your stormwear range - very confusing. The shorter length has been out of stock for many weeks - again very confusing since your standard length, long length, skinny,slim,regular, straight, etc varieties have all remained fully stocked. I believe M&S is getting lost in trying to be all things to all people with the bewildering range from tall and slim to short and fat and this is not necessarily a good thing when a simple soul is just trying to find a pair of jeans. Even more confusing is the fact that when I search for “men’s jeans shorter length” your site shows me womenswear jeans! As always, good quality gradually becoming less affordable and too many options - only if value when every option is actually In stock..Version: 7.35

Good app but needs to match othersMost shopping apps meet the basic needs, but I feel like this misses one crucial aspect that every other one I’ve used has - there is no option to ‘save’ those items that you like for later review or to add to an order. M&S has a large range of clothing, which is great, but it would be nice to be able to pull together a list of items that I like and then look at again at a later date. It’s really frustrating that every time you use the app you have to start at the beginning, and finding certain items that you might have seen before can prove difficult and long-winded. It puts me off shopping on the app, which is a shame as there are lots of nice things I would buy but can’t be bothered to keep searching for over and over again!.Version: 7.20

Post surgery brasI have tried in vain to get M&S to change the look of their post surgery bras. I have written to the company as well and never received an answer. The bras that are now produced are either padded, look like sports bras and the colours are boring - white, grey, black or neutral. Theres neither a bit of lace nor a bit of colour. I am now having to buy a full support bra without a pocket and holding my prosthesis in with a piece of lingerie tape. The breast shapes also have a nipple - why? Please bring back the embroidered post surgery bras with a pocket and think about your breast cancer customers and treat them like your other customers with some really nicely designed bras. Ordering an itemI am a very loyal and happy customer in respect of a wide range of your foods ,clothing and home items. But I get very frustrated when eg: a top that I have tried to order on many, many occasions continues to remain out of stock. I understand that it not always easy to gauge the public’s take up on an item and you may have difficulties with your suppliers. I think it would be an idea if you had a facility to pre book an out of stock item for when it returns in store sending an e-mail to say ready for collection. Good app until my recent issuesI’ve used the app for a few years now and haven’t had any issues which Is why I gave it 5 stars but recently placed a large order for Christmas and had an error come up on the page that the order couldn’t be processed. When I went back to my bag it was empty so I had to find everything again and check out. When I had two order confirmations I assumed one had been sent in error since both orders were identical. Turned out the first one went through, I’ve now had to of the same massive orders and the money has of course come out of my account twice. I spoke to M&S and they said they couldn’t do anything I would have to wait to return the order and then my refund wouldn’t be processed for up to another 14 days. I’m obviously not happy about it and asked them to report this bug so it doesn’t happen to anyone else. Doesn’t help me now though to be out of additional money in the lead up to Christmas..Version: 7.26
