Too slow to loadOther similar apps manage to part load content without preventing interaction. The failure to do that is this apps only failing. It's................................. Automated serviceMore and more times I am trying to enjoy the experience of once again shopping and using your cafes in store. Part of that experience is being served by PEOPLE. Alas no more. At Hatfield the cafe procedure is now an unpleasant nightmare you have to pay for only to endure frustration not relaxation. I would go to MacDonald’s if I wanted that sort if service and probably will next time. I have fond memories of their cafe and was planning to meet a friend there. Whew won’t be doing that. Now I have just been to shop in Reading and find myself confronted by machines again for purchases. It is a sad sad time and encourages white van mad tearing up country roads in order to deliver 3 not 1 of each item and then back again to return at least 2. And they call this progress. One day we will reason that there is no point in buying any more clothes because we don’t see or speak to anyone to make it necessary. Disappearing shopping bagTwice all the items disappeared from my bag and I had to re-enter them..Version: 8.8

App wouldn’t process loaded £10 discount + wanted to charge delivery on £71 order!System loaded the £10 onto the app, which said it would be processed at checkout, which did not happen, so I didn’t get the £10 taken off my bill. At the top of the page, before Checkout, there is a statement that declares “Free delivery when you spend £60”. In anticipation that the £10 discount voucher would bring the bill to under the £60 threshold (My main purchase was the hamper at £60), I added another two items, two children’s T-shirts, which brought the total bill up to £71. Added to my frustration at the system not processing the £10, the checkout system also wanted to charge me £3+ for delivery 🚚, so I had to opt for picking up at a M&S store, to my inconvenience (!). On opting to pick up my order from a store, it turns out that the hamper can only be delivered to my home, but the T-shirts are to be picked up at the store. No charge… Come to think of it, when I only had the £60 hamper in the basket, there was no delivery charge….Version: 8.10.2

Glitchy and has a mind of its ownSorry, but navigating this app is frustrating and annoying. Not as smooth as mobile website. Items repeat and it tries to predict what i might want to see, shopping for school clothes is a once a year event, so i don't want to constantly be seeing school items pop up once that task is done! Prefer the mobile website if Im totally honest. For example, looking at a previous online orders details, when a pop up window appears in middle of screen covering the info with a random item from the order, which you then have to close and then turn phone landscape to read full page. Some of the links don't work. The sparks card part is blank! No digital card! Im already a sparks and M&S account holder and the app doesn't link with my mobile website account - I have deleted app and reinstalled it to give it one more chance. I also reg for paperless receipts in-store through the app, but no sparks card on mobile wallet or app for shop to scan of for me to scan at self serve till. No digital sparks card in app. Ive shopped 4 times through app and still no sparks/rewards emails now they have done away with the points its all a bit vague. I also couldn't track my delivery or return through app once my parcel was with the courier service or waiting in store for collection. For this I then had to download a further courier app to track my parcel and then download another collect+ app to track my return. 3 apps to do one job!!! Not ideal.Version: 7.0

Oh dear what has happened to M and SFirstly I have been an M and S shopper since childhood, I have watched the systematic dumbing down of the clothing brand and the quality gone from good to disgraceful. Now I understand the challenges and cognisant of this my criticism is based on experience and not malice. Have you bought anything that did not pill on the first wear, where sizing issues are rife, and is it my imagination are they reducing their size range by stealth, as everything I want in my size is always out of stock. Don’t get me started on the abomination of a website, where the filters are useless and the pictures of the products are useless. Why on earth if they are selling trousers ar3 the models sitting dow. Further, why do they not list all the items the model is wearing and link them so we too can put together the suggested outfits. The collaborations they are doing with much more expensive brands who have a smaller size range usually stopping at 20 and often out of stock in the larger size. They have become lazy, and tying themselves to another brand is idiotic when you don’t have a strong identity of who you are and the wide range of who your customers are. I have my private opinion that M and S will become a high street casualty like Debenhams and others. Buck up or lose the business..Version: 7.28

What a nightmare!I absolutely love the Marks & Spencer sale! I have spent several enjoyable hours tonight selecting what I wanted to buy - so difficult, so many bargains! Finally, I have decided, nine items, quick, let’s get them paid for. What had happened? My basket is suddenly empty! Quickly, find those items again. This is difficult, there are so many items in the sale. I am getting frustrated, some items are now sold out, how annoying. Finally, I have made my revised selections but I’m not happy. Let’s get checked out and be done with it all. Go for the checkout button - error, error, error….. ah finally, the delivery screen. What is that? My original basket along with my revised basket has now reappeared. I’m tempted to give up. I have tried to check out so many times, I have even entered my card details and the whole site just crashes. This is ridiculous. I appreciate the site is busy as it is sale time but a store as reputable as M&S should have these issues resolved long ago. Finally, after dozens of attempts I have checked out and have an order confirmation. I really do not know how many times I have paid for this order, I shall have to check with the bank. Can only find stores near you...But not the store you actually need. M&S has also food only stores, not just full blown department stores. I wanted to find a M&S store with a Men’s Apparel department. This app doesn’t allow you to lookup stores that have more than just food or by available department. You cannot even scroll the map and do a “search here”. So if you are near an M&S only Food next to you, that’s the only (one!) it will show you. The feature should be called “store nearest to you” and not “search for a store”. Because you really can’t. The search requires you to know the name of the area where the store is located. As a visiting tourist in London this app “Store search” is quite useless..Version: 6.7.9

Very slowI had a very hard time placing my order with this this time. was very slow and took a long time to load each page even when I called m&s to help me they had the same issue it could be that their site was down for a little and that's why this happened it might not be because of the app.Version: 4.0.10

Tencel beddingMost bizarre experience. I found the duvet cover no problem. I could find sheets etc but no pillow cases. But when I looked via a google search and lo there they where in stock and in the right colours and everything. I went back to my original order but it didn’t show the pillow cases. But my new separate order showed both pillow cases and the previously added duvet, which I’d added on the original order. Couldn’t find Oxford pillow cases in tencel so have chosen Egyptian percale cotton instead, weirdly they come in a subtle different colour range ie midnight blue instead of navy. So have gone for a contrast instead. Just hope it’s all as magically cooling as they say. I wait with baited breath to see if the tencel p c’s come. It also wouldn’t accept my gift card! There is no advice on which of the numbers on the card to use and when it didn’t recognise to number and pin there was no option to contact M&S. A tricky and laborious experience but I’ll forgive them if the product is good but still not happy about gift card!.Version: 7.20

Useless. Just awful.Spam text messages that won’t stop. Try to contact customer services, the app just loads giant desktop-sized web forms on your phone. And the comment fields don’t even render, so you can’t type anything. Try chat, type your message and the representative just leaves the chat without responding. They won’t even respond to emails. A talent to annoyI tried to use the app to order things that I couldn’t get in store because they never have my size due to the fact they are convinced most of their customers are size 10 or 12 when most are size 16 or more. I found the things I wanted on line but when I came to checkout the app just collapsed so I left stuff in the basket pending further investigation. Obviously the app started working again because I was woken at 2am by the app notifying me I’d left things in the basket except not everything I’d left because there was something not in stock so they removed it! I worked on computerised stock control systems over 50 years ago so there is no excuse for bad stock control. I was already annoyed by M&S because they never have any small shopping trolleys in the food dept mainly because their staff use them for restocking shelves and seem to believe they have priority over customers. They tell you to shave your sofa because bobbling after three months is normalI’m very lucky they my parents got us new sofas and a footstool. The footstool came with the wrong feet so M&S sent replacements for us to fit ourselves. The replacements didn’t fit and the fabric became badly bobbled. M&S sent a replacement again it came with the wrong feet but the delivery guys were able to fit the others we were sent separately. By this t8me the two sofas were bobbling too. The delivery guys said they have seen this before with our sofas n other homes and M&S sent an expert to look at them. The expert said he would never by the check fabric we have as it will bobble and told us to shave the bobbles off. Given this advice M&S feel we should be regularly shaving our new sofas claiming it’s our problem and we can take it to the ombudsman. We certainly will. I feel terrible that a generous gift has caused my parents so much stress and also disgusted that a company like M&S would seriously expect customers to shave off damage to their fabric after three months. I will certainly be telling everyone I know to avoid M&S furniture as it clearly lacks in quality and there is no support when things go wrong..Version: 7.44

Sparks in Apple Wallet???App is really quick and easy to use for ordering/shopping. Also used the app this year to place my Christmas food order - it was effortless compared to previous years of filling in the paper form and dealing in store. The day wider food (not just ‘occasion food’) is available to buy and order online won’t be a day too soon, but this is a wider M&S gripe not just for the app, so not letting this influence my rating. Like how my Sparks Offers are shown in the app. Much prefer this to getting paper vouchers. HOWEVER, you need to make it so the Sparks Card is fully integrated within Apple Wallet, so I don’t need to open the app to use the card when in store. I’m not bothered about seeing my points total, or anything like that, just make is so the card can be added to the Apple Wallet! Then, and only then, might I be tempted to give you 5 stars..Version: 6.8.9

Tiny pictures and font sizeI downloaded the app and after using it for 10 minutes felt like my eyes are burning. The font size is tiny, but the most important pictures are small. While browsing thru the list of items - I just closed my eyes. I understand you guys want to squeeze in as many items to appear in screen at once as possible but it doesn't do the job. Please make pictures larger (in the lists) as it seriously kills my eyes and I have never had a problematic vision. Deleted the app :(.Version: 4.0.8

Frustrated female customerI have been a Sparks customer for many years and very happy until about four years ago when M&S seemingly amended my profile with the result that I stopped getting womenswear Sparks offers and instead receive menswear Sparks offers. I have been into the branch at least twice to try to sort out and each time I was asked to call customer services. Despite my calling customer services on three separate occasions and being assured each time by the customer service assistant that the matter would be investigated and resolved nothing further has been heard from them. Long story short, I still continue to receive menswear Sparks offers and have missed out on all the womenswear offers for the last 4+ years. The womens nightwear Sparks offer currently running is the sole exception being the only womenswear offer received in all that time..Version: 7.50.1

Horrendous experience using M&S gift cardsHorrendous experience using Marks & Spencer‘s gift cards online, clearly states for you to type in the long number and then clearly states for you to type in the number below the silver scratch box on the card. I must’ve tried 20 times and it would not accept the card and pin. I then decided to scratch the pin off and try that also and this also did not work. I phoned Customer services to be told the wonderful news that my card had now been blocked, as it had had too many attempts using the incorrect four digit pen below the silver scratch box pin number, and the correct one was actually the one in the silver scratch box where it clearly stated on their website that it was “underneath silver box” popping up in the Help box at the side of the pin. Just to add insult to injury. All of the items that I had bought in the Christmas sale as I had received these for Christmas. All was taken out of my basket and bought by others as I could not pay using my gift vouchers. certainly never want to receive one ever again. my solution you can’t beat cash..Version: 8.14.1

XGreat to be able to buy from M&S in Australia via an app. The downside of this site is that there are no clear descriptions of products, ie measurements of bakeware rather than just small or large. Left feeling like a shoplifter!Did my shopping this morning with the scan and shop function as I have done many times before. Before leaving the store I was asked to show the receipt in the app which when I reopened the app was not there. So I couldn’t show I had paid for my shopping. I was then made to feel like I was trying to take the items without paying - as the app wasn’t showing my receipt or that I had paid I then had to rescan the items and pay again. The way the manager spoke to me made me feel I was trying to get away with out paying for my shopping. I was left feeling humiliated and embarrassed. When I later got home and checked the app again the original shopping was now visible. So I had to go back to the shop to explain and get a refund. So all in all because of this app not working properly I was made to feel like I was trying to steal from a shop I have used for decades. I wasn’t even offered any compensation for the distress caused or hassle of returning to the shop and pointing out their error. Please be careful using the scan and shop or get someone to check your app before you close it after shopping as if there is any glitch with it and the shopping doesn’t show up later they assume you haven’t paid for your shopping..Version: 7.44

ErrorsWas only able to order when I logged out of my account and continued as guest. Tried multiple times with different browsers and the app and got an error occurred message. The filters would only all me to select bestsellers. App could be more intuitive. I added address details and the I was quicker than the page load so ended up clicking in the wrong area. When I got back to adding the details I wanted to add, my previously added data had been wiped and I had to re renter it all..Version: 6.5.6

Order for delivery homeI’m looking forward to seeing M&S improvement of orders online for delivery home or speedy collection dates in local store on Muswell Hill-London . I’ve tried to go for collection option this time and was disappointed that nearest available date was over week away even my carer has placed order same time like me and got option for collection for next day . I’m disabled customer and seen there is now very long time for deliveries of orders which is non acceptable to wait almost 2weeks to get order even items are in stock and order amount is over £60 sometime up to &100 . by standard delivery , but with extra payment option delivery on certain day there was not big difference. Come on M&S !? That’s ridiculous. If I am fit and mobile I won’t bother to do online shopping at all .? Vouchers and spark offers sometimes don’t work at all , there been mistakes made in past and now long waiting time .. Decline of M & SI have been a loyal customer of M & S since the days of liberty bodices and St Margaret’s and St Michaels brands but my despair has grown in the past few years. I can no longer find fashionable clothes for the older woman that are not frumpy something that my friends agree with. When will your buyers realise that young people don’t regularly shop at Marks? Your core customers are older women who want to look fashionable not frumpy. We want good quality clothes that don’t fall apart after two or three washes. Cheap is false economy. I have today gone on line to ‘treat’ myself and everything I have clicked on is either very low stock or out of stock. Come on Marks you now have the opportunity to support our home industries and give us home produced clothing etc. Your core customers will begin to return and you will be proving jobs at a very difficult time for our economy..Version: 7.2

Back of the Class🫤I miss the good ole’ days when M&S Recipes had its own app and there were so many amazing recipes to chose from. I live in the US but I checked the M&S Recipes app a couple of times a week for ideas and there was always so much to choose from that I’d get caught up in my exploration and almost forgot why I was there in the first place☺️. I understand cost variables and ROI (return on investment) so I get why M&S dropped and combined but that doesn’t mean I don’t miss all of the different categories and the dishes contained within being front and center in their own home..Version: 8.22

Check out with voice-over turned on is trickyI use voice-over as I’m totally blind. Browsing is easy but there are several links to add items which have no direct correlation with what exactly you’re adding. Once you’ve played around a bit you come to learn that the actual item you want to add is below all these other links. The trickiest bit is checking out. There are sounds indicating links but not what they relate to. You have to guess where to tap to enter details and it’s really a case of hit & miss. I think the designers could make a lot of the non talking pictures & what I think are links explanatory to non sighted users. It is possible to get through check out but it’s not straight forward. Finally, the sizing widget has no indication as to where you enter the information requested. If you’re using voice-over don’t bother with this, you’re end up totally the wrong size! For blind users putting text directly with the links they relate to would be a lot more easier to understand..Version: 7.47

Poor implementationLooks nice to begin with, but riddled with problems. Passwords don’t accept all sorts of characters but it does not tell you what. Took 4 attempts and I eventually just used numbers and letters which is not great in terms of security. The screen size often shrinks to unreadable sizes on my iPhone 11. Lyocell Cargo Trousers SandI tried to order these online for delivery several times over the last few days as part of an order that came to nearly £200. They showed as ‘1 pair in stock’ but when I tried to pay for the whole order it instructed me to remove the Sand Lyocell Cargo Trousers as they were out of stock. I returned to the website and they still showed ‘Hurry, only 1 left’. This continued for the next several attempts for the next several attempts over the course of the day, so in the end I ordered the rest of the items I wanted in case any more items went out of stock. Have continued to attempt to buy these for a further 2 days until just now when it showed ‘5 pairs in stock’ so I ordered them. Unfortunately, because of this I now have to pay a delivery charge which I am not happy about. I have no criticism of the trousers having purchased over a dozen in the last 3 months having bought them in sizes 12, 10 and now 8 as I have lost a lot of weight so had re-ordered in smaller sizes every few weeks..Version: 8.4

Mobile Pay Go is brokenI’ve had a number of issues with Mobile Pay Go where the transaction shows up as failed and does not provide a receipt and then the transaction does show up on my credit card statement. I get double-billed for the same purchase, through the app and then at the till. There is also no customer service for Mobile Pay Go so good luck finding someone to help you. M&S should link Mobile Pay Go to a customer’s account so the receipts show up for all purchases. They need to fix the bug where the purchase ‘fails’ and you still get billed and they need to provide customer service directly for Mobile Pay Go..Version: 6.8.7

Infuriating app and websiteThought I’d try the M&S app to see if better than the website. Really disappointed that it is just hopeless. Also no idea why there are so many reviews on App Store about service and store experience - why is that on app reviews? Anyway the app is constantly glitching, you go to click on something and if it doesn’t like it you’ll be taken right back to home page to start your search again - please fix as this has put me off purchasing today. Just as an aside the pictures available of clothing items can be unhelpful. If I’m looking at bras yes it’s helpful to see on a model, but please include more pictures of what the actual cups look like. It’s hard to determine if an item has a little / a lot of padding when only seeing photos on the model and I care little for pictures of the fastenings. Sadly until stores reopen this is the only way to buy and looks like I won’t be today. Please address these issues..Version: 6.19

Great, but could be BETTER!I love M&S and shop in the food department almost daily, the quality of their produce is very good - when it is in stock. I have noticed in my local store that you can tell when they are expecting a visit from senior management because all of the shelves/displays are very well stocked! Indeed only a week or so ago I was amazed to walk in and see shelves and displays bulging with xmas goodies and then I noticed the men in black suits.....inspecting and sounding out the staff. Sadly, well - stocked shelves isn’t the norm, it’s a shame it seems to be for the managers benefit as a priority. Some of the staff in-store are excellent, helpful, polite and friendly towards their customers. But in my experience, some are not and need more training in customer service as this can, and has, put me off my purchases. I have tried to source a food product that seems to have disappeared from M&S stock lists. I have asked in-store, scoured online, even Googled with no luck . Have you tried to contact M&S? It’s not easy to get through to speak to someone and the website isn’t forthcoming either . It’s impossible to ask a specific question.. In my opinion, M&S are good and represent quality, British tradition but they still could do better ..Version: 6.8.8

Like an app from the 00s, so unreliable and living in the pastEverytime i try to pay my credit card off on this archaic app there’s some kind of technical error that means i end up having to ring up on the phone and sit on hold to speak to a foreign call centre to try and pay it like a boomer. Even on the rare occasion that it does actually work and I can pay my bill im subjected to hand typing out every single part of my debit card including my name every single time. Has technological advances over the last decade passed M&S by? Your competitors have camera scanning card readers, apple pay, a way for the app to remember your details at the bare minimum, and AI telling you what you spend on and cool technology to help you save I think M&S assume all their customers are out of touch boomers who that technology would be wasted on so they dont try to make the user journey easy, but you underestimate that market and the next generations like me who will become your primary customer group. Had I any idea your app was so appauling i wouldve taken a credit card out with a competitor which has a less favourable credit card benefits just so I can have a way to easily pay my bill without feeling like you are going ro destroy my credit because everything is broken every time i try to pay my bill..Version: 8.17

BUDGET CARDI have had an M & S budget card for over 20 years and recently wanted to place an order on line. This proved very frustrating and problematic. My card was replaced recently as the old one had expired but the replacement card was not accepted when I tried to make the on line purchase. I realized from the white notification sticker on the card that I first needed to activate the card at an M & S outlet which I subsequently did and paid for items using the card. Expecting no further issues I went on line to place the order. Still no success. I then called your helpline and went through all the verification procedures and updated some information eg new telephone number with your customer service personnel. They assured me that all was now in order. I once more tried to place the order, once again without any success. I called customer services once more and was asked to hold. After 30 minutes without a response I had had enough and ended the call. Why has my experience of trying to activate a budget card proved so problematic??.Version: 8.11

Poor StockI have used online shopping with M&S for many years now and I have always found that the stock sizes available are always very poor. They have only got to look at the sizes missing, to see what sized customer is using their online facility. It is always the larger sizes. You are not reading your clientele. Years ago you could walk into any M&S store, say to buy a skirt, and you were always able to choose three lengths - short (mini), knee length or mid calf. Now you are only catering for the younger person, who, let’s face it, if they are unmarried or even a young Mum, wouldn’t be seen dead in M&S. You have completely forgotten the middle aged and older generation of female, who has the money to spend and who always chose M&S as their first choice. You cannot afford to keep trying to cater for the younger generation or your time as a leader of High Street shopping will stop..Version: 6.20
