Mr Word challenges you to a word game with added personality. Even more so, now that Mr Word talks back.
This update sees the following enhancements:
- Mr Word chats with you during 1 player game play, just like a real human opponent
- Improved dictionary (uses the Oxford English Dictionary if installed)
- more consistent AI gameplay
Choose 1 player or 2 player modes, and enter your name to begin.
In 1 player mode, you are playing against Mr Word himself. Featuring Genuine People Personality, Mr Word will really give you a run for your money.
Choose a difficulty level, Easy, Medium or Hard, then Mr Word will choose words that a real human would choose (his vocabulary increases in Hard level), and respond to your move in seconds - great for rapid fire play. Now even faster than before.
If you make Mr Word think for longer than a few seconds, you are doing really well!
Mr Word will even "spellcheck" your words as you lay them, so you know in advance whether the word you are playing is acceptable.
Also featuring the Define button - instantly brings up word definitions for all words played. High quality, Apple-supplied dictionary of over 100,000 words. Features definitions from the Oxford English Dictionary so you can learn new words and their meanings every time you play.
In 2 player mode, your Mac becomes a high quality fullscreen board game, with the added benefit of spellchecking to avoid arguments about valid words.

✓ Good game!It would be nice to have some sound, blank letters, and be able to trade in letters! I've played the game many times now and I've noticed that if I put a word that scores 5 points, then Mr. Word will put something around 4-7 points. Then I'll get a nice score of 15 and then Mr. Word will get a score of around 12 to 17. Every time! The score never varies much between us. I'm playing the easy mode. I'll try the harder one. Maybe that will make the difference. Otherwise it's a nice game..Version: 1.0

✗ Don't buy this game...The game is clunky and poorly designed. It's nothing like Scrabble. The built in dictionary did not accept the words 'fate' or 'state'. I gave up and quit. What a waste of 99 cents..Version: 2.0
✗ Two things missingThere are two things missing on this game - no make it four. 1. no blank tiles 2. no way of returning tiles and missing the go 3. no ‘save'/‘resign’ button 4. no help despite there being help in the menu bar Otherwise it does merit the palty sum to buy it; certainly I bought it after a couple of games on the Lite version. There’s no way I can afford Scrabble - assuming there is such a thing for Mavericks, of course - and this is an adequate alternative for someone who is useless at Scrabble and who can’t use mobile devices because of dexterity problems.
