✓ Decent free version of appI only used the free version of this app and though it was good but not great. Like all free apps i have used it has some advertisements. One thing I think needs worked on is being able to play the calls without internet connection. Everything else works without it except that. Also with the free version there are a lot of limits to what you can and can't do but after all that is why it is the free version. I think it could be a decent buy for anybody that is into birding..Version: 2.5.1
✓ Free version just one big advertisementAlthough the full version looks pretty good, I'm a little miffed about the complete lack of functionality in the free version. Bird lists are unorganized, searches allow you to look at birds but not listen to them, "around me" shows icons, but you can't explore in more detail. All actions ask you to purchase the full version. I'd rather have a fully functional trial version!.Version: 2.4
✓ PainfulApp is painful. Birds are not categorized by alphabet, classification or even region smaller than your country. So to find a bird on my feeder I have to start scrolling through 791 birds that are not organized at all!! What a pain! 1/3 of the way down the list you find a $6.99 fee to unlock the rest..Version: 2.0

✓ Don't call us, we won't call youI loved the previous version, but the ads on this version come blaring out at you and fill the whole screen. Not only can you not hear the call, you can't use the app. The ads get so big the button is off screen or the very edge and you literally have to double tap the iPhone 5S button, so you can shut the app down and restart it..Version: 2.3
✓ Very annoyingI found this app to be very informative in terms of text and the bird songs which are unlocked are of reasonable quality. There is a preponderance of locked bird songs which require payment to be heard. The entire thing though really lets itself down in that to close a page you are often taken to some ridiculous game app totally unrelated to the matter and a couple of times even took me to the App Store in an attempt to download this rubbish. I found this at best to be extremely annoying but actually an insidious attempt to make you part with your cash and download a stupid game. For this alone I say AVOID!.Version: 2.2

Sure you can quickly find what THAT bird's song is BUT how bout hearing a song to identify the bird making it? Impossible! So let's have the app access the microphone and allow me to chirp whistle trill the call into the app's db and recognize and identify the song maker? ✓ Terrible!Don't waste your time downloading this crappy app! It is loaded with obnoxious and unwanted ads of women wanting to chat. Most of the birds are locked, and it will cost you another eight dollars to unlock them. The few that I did manage to try are inaccurate. The app is massive, 67 MB, and that doesn't include any birdcalls. You have to download any bird calls that you'd like to hear, so make sure you have an Internet connection. The app shows only 52 bird species in my country, Canada, and doesn't include common species such as Cardinals, Blue Jays, Sparrows, etc., which are in abundance in Canada. ✓ What happened?I used to love this app and used it almost daily. Now it's completely unusable. I can't go more than 1 minute of use without ads blocking out the calls and taking over my phone. ✓ Looks great but no soundThe whole point of me installing this app was so me & my birdwatching friends could sit round & play guess the birdy. A game we love etc but once I installed, got my friends over & all sat round the phone, I went straight to the grey spotted woodpecker hoping to catch them out but there was no sound ?
